Kiddie Korner Reviews (2)

To whom it may concern:          In response to the previous allegations made by the client
that was supposed to have occurred at Kiddie Korner Day Care Inc. In reference
to the sickness, the child was absent for several days; I the Director called
the...

client to check on the child, the client told me the child had been sick
with a cold and she had a temperature . She said she would come back when she
was without a fever and runny nose. She never told me that she thought she
picked up the cold from day care as the client also works with the public and I
assured her that we as adults and parents could be carriers of germs and not
have what the child has.          In reference to the diarrhea I explained that its a way of
the child getting rid of the cold through the elimination. This all occurred
while the child was absent from the day care for at least 7 consecutive days.          The rash: The client alerted the caregiver that the rash
was the result of the brand of pampers that she was using on the child. The
parent then provided us with another brand (luvs) The caregiver provided aid to
the child with the healing process by applying the cream provided by the parent
at each diaper change with frequent diaper changes.          The child when present arrived just before or right after
lunch . The child was provided lunch and snack provided by the center unless
the parents preference was something she brought from home; then she would be
fed what the parent has given us.          My staff treats all of the children and parents with the
utmost respect, and I would never tolerate them doing anything different.          The clients family member came to pick up the child and
proceded to let the staff know that she didn't think things were done to her
standards and she was very disrepectful to them in the way of yelling at the
employee saying that she was not changing a diaper correctly. This staff member
that she was referring to has been in my employ for 6 years and has passed state
standards for diaper changing. The family member was waving her hands in the
employee face while using foul language. The Assistant Director then intervened
and told the family member that she could not disrespect the employee,
classroom, and kids. The family member was then asked politely to leave the
facility.          I the Director came to the center while the family member
was in her car on the phone. I approached the car to see if I could talk to
her, and she refused to talk to me.          The next day the client came back to pick up her child's
things out of her cubbie. She came in my office and apologized for her family
member's  actions saying her family
member  had a temper and she was sorry
for her actions. She also apologized to the employees and thanked us for our
services.          I have done Child Care for over 40 years, had my own
business for over 25 years and I promote nothing but a positive environment for
my clients, children, and staff.Sincerely,Irma *. W[redacted]Owner/DirectorKiddie Korner Day Care Inc.

I am writing in response to the
above referenced ID. My character seems to be in jeopardy here. Kiddie Korner
Daycare Center seems to have gotten the facts wrong. The following events occurred and
resulting issues:My child attended Kiddie Korner the week of December 5, 2016 which she attended four days a week.  She was in good health before the entering to the facility. By Thursday, December 8, 2016 she received the child first sickness. I notify the staff and director why my child didn’t appear for a couple days at the facility. My child never missed a day attending the daycare unless the child was sick, or no work schedule.  The second sickness was the week of January 23, 2017 at 1:48 am which the child attended daycare. By Thursday, January 26, 2017, I had to take my child to the emergency room at 1:45 am. (A copy of the emergency report can be presented.)  My child had a temperature of 104.1 and upper respiratory in which she was giving steroids and pain reliever at the hospital.  I notify Kiddie Korner the next morning of her condition to the Assistant Manger, Mr. W[redacted] and also Mrs. W[redacted] was present in the office.  Her primary care doctor instructed me not to allow my child to attend Kiddie Korner or anywhere because she could catch pneumonia.  This incident made me question the environment of Kiddie Korner facility.  Is it healthy or safe to be there?  My child never receive any type of sickness from anyone in my house since my child was born.     I provided supplies and food to Kiddie Korner for my child’s well-being. (My child only consumes lunch from Kiddie Korner four times which was the last two weeks-Jan.24, 25 26 & 30 last day at center.)  My child is allergic to material of [redacted] are made of. [redacted] was placed on my child and a rash was the outcome. I have always provided [redacted] for my child to use, tissues, and unscented wipes.  Kiddie Korner never notified me that they were out of diapers or even low which a daily record is present.  They were aware that my child only wore [redacted]. She did receivediarrhea at the center and she was red from front to back. The staff had beennotifyingof the situation.Communication: My
parent picked up my child from Kiddie Korner on January 30, 2017 at 4:30
pm.  She observed that my child was
crying when she appears at the door of the class and the child had soiled her
clothes.  She asked, “When was the last
time someone changed my child (name was said) because she smell like she pooped
in her pants.”  One of the staff members
who were present in the room (which it was only two staff members presented at
that time) changed the diaper.  My child
was still crying, very red flush in the face, and nose running down to the
child’s mouth.  My parent asked the staff
member who was changing her, “do you have a ‘tissue’ to wipe her nose or I can
do it”. The staff member began wiping my child’s nose with a “wipe”.  The purpose of a “wipe” is to clean your
hands or wipe a child’s bottom that’s why parents were to ask to bring
“tissues” for the child.  Using a “wipe”
to clean my child’s nose is a problem because she is allergic.  My parent simply requested a “tissue”, not a
wipe to clean the nose of her grandchild.
She was talking to the staff member who was changing my child.  Another staff member from a different area
beginning to get loud with her said, “ You ,you, you and your daughter always
have something to say every time we come here”, as she was swinging her hand
around talking to my parent.  My parent
was accused of using foul language to a staff member when communicating with
them.  This is not true.  The staff member who appeared into the room
after the changing of the diaper was talking to her with foul language even
after she was leaving the facility. The young lady also told other staff member
“to hold me back, she don’t know” as my parent and my child was going out the
door of the facility in her arms.  She
was never asked to leave by no one in the facility (no assistant manager or
even when he called the director to come to the facility).  It’s a disgrace that a daycare and director
of the facility over 25 years would fabricate a false story of the incident.  How can one trust or rely on these staff
members to execute a faithful, diligent program or surroundings for the
children and other adults.  I am
frightened by such behavior they are unable to tell a simple truth about what
occurred.  For example, Kiddie Korner say
that I apologized to the entire staff. I did not.  Also, I did not apologize for my parent
alleged temper. I never said she had a temper. I did ask the staff member who was
changed my child’s diaper, “I asked first did my parent use foul language at
her or even yelled at her”, and she said, “No” to both questions. One would
think; is my child or any other child safe and secure in Kiddie Korner Daycare
center. The problem is that it is one of
two daycare facility available in two counties and this facility is the only one
government assistance available.  A lot
of issues are pushed under the rug because of the lack of childcare
facility.  I would request that you keep
an eye out on this facility.  Anything is
possible at Kiddie Korner Daycare Inc.Sincerely Yours [redacted]
