Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/15) */
1) I did receive a call from [redacted] on 4/6/15. I was on a family vacation in Arizona and had not returned to out hotel until after 1 am that morning. With the time zone difference, it was 8 am in Phoenix and I answered the phone out of a...

dead sleep. I informed her I would contact her on that Wednesday as our flight would not get in until late Tuesday.
2) Parents were informed during registration that practices would not begin until May. During the registration period (Feb-Mar), it is impossible to schedule practices or games as we do not know how many players/teams/coaches we will have until all registrations are received. The game schedule was posted to the website over a week before games began.
3) I am unlcear as to what is meant by a (hostile environment) not apporpriate for young children. I was told by her coach that a comment was made regarding the racial makeup of the team and the neighborhood in which the ballpark is located. KFS has operated at this location for many years without incident and we pride ourselves on being able to serve children that may not otherwise get to play baseball because of economic factors.
4) Registration fees go toward many things: insurance (the rate of which is based upon the number of players/teams), office space, office overhead, supplies, etc.
5) Uniforms and parent shirts were ordered on 4/25/15 and the entire order was paid in full that day. We had no way to cancel the order by the time [redacted] called to withdraw from the league.
In summary, while we wish we could have met the complaintants expectations, we do not feel we are liable for refunding any money either in whole or in part. We further feel that our practices mirror those of other sports leagues in the city (for example, [redacted] Football which held a registration the beginning of April - they have still not cashed our check but as practices do not begin until June or July, it is not worrisome). We feel that the operations of the league regarding scheduling and parent contact were made clear upon registration and that these complaints are without merit.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/05/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Nice attempt at abdicating responsibility and accusing me of making a comment about the racial makeup of the team (the irony is I'm married to a member of a minority group). I expressed concerns about other parents swearing at our children when they were eager to participate due to turning a preschool sporting event into a competition. Bottom line--this is a fly-by-night organization clearly not focused on meeting their clients' needs.
