Parents beware. . Wrong breast milk fed to infants, safety concerns in the facility and owner not willing to fix issues.

Review: My son first day at Kidz Ink in Middletown DE was August 19,2013. I informed the director and the teacher in the room that morning all his pro & con / likes and dislikes, what he can and con do by himself. Since breakfast/ lunch/ snacks were included we didn't have to worry about much. I called around 8:30am to check and see how my son was doing and if he ate breakfast. I was told that he didn't eat breakfast but that was normal because it was a new environment and that they would give him a snack before lunch to make sure he was not starving since the last time he ate was 5:45am when I fed his a small breakfast. My husband and I went to check/ pick [redacted] up around 12:15pm. When we got to the room we saw his teacher pulling him across the room attempting to put him down for a nap. He ran to us and seem that he had been crying. First let me say that the room was in chaotic state. I guess it was nap time and the teacher was trying to get the kids down but she couldn't get them to settle down. They were quite a few kids in that class room more than the ratio of 6 to 1. On top of another teacher constantly coming into the class room from another door dropping kids of and leaving. Regardless we started to speak with my son's teacher and realize that he did not eat his lunch and did not get a snack between breakfast and lunch. I asked his teacher if he was assisted with eating and she stated no that they encourage children to feed themselves. I told her I understand that however at 18 months he still needs assistance and I was assured that he would be given assistence. She became very defensive and stated that they encourage parents to encourage children to feed themselves and when he goes into the next class he should know how to feed himself. I told her I wasn't talking about the next class he is going in. I'm talking about this class and the fact that my son has not eaten all day. While she was speaking with us she started cleaning the area which the kids had just had their lunch with a clorox wipe and a little girl from the class came up and ate the rice off the table that she had just wipe into a pile. She didn't get the rice out of her mouth just told her to leave the table alone. We turned and left. I spoke with the director and told her the concerns my husband and I had. We just felt that nothing was going to get resolved. I went back to the school and pulled him out on August 19. She stated that we needed to give them a two weeks notice and I told her I wouldn't give a two weeks notice because of what happened that day, I could not honestly feel comfortable even putting our son back in that school. We didn't even get a phone call telling us that [redacted] did not eat and what should we do. He didn't not stay their and entire day. I had to put down first week & last week deposit which was $390.00. I was told by the director that I would get my last week deposit back. However I want the first week deposit back less the August 19. I had to scramble and stress to find a new location for my son to start with in a week of school starting.

A few days later I called the owner of Kidz Ink and to be honest I felt that she was making excuses for the location. When I express my concern about my son not eating or getting the snack between breakfast and lunch she said that maybe the kitchen was busy and they forgot to get a snack for him.Desired Settlement: I was told by the director that I would get my last week deposit back. However I want the first week deposit back less the August 19. I had to scramble and stress to find a new location for my son to start with in a week of school starting.

I find it appalling that anyone can just make up accusations to extort money from

a Small Business owner. [redacted] complaint is a blatant lie. The classroom

was never over ratio. We have a computer system that keeps track of all

children clocked in and we have a paper tracking system as well. So both of

these child tracking systems back up our information of not being over ratio.

Second, we do not use and have never purchased Clorox wipes. We follow the

state of Delaware and Delaware Stars cleaning practices. My Directors nor

myself were anything but sympathetic and professional when speaking with [redacted] I never stated to her that our kitchen staff was busy and the teacher

nor the Directors never stated to her that we would provide additional food

between breakfast and lunch. Our center provides three healthy meals that meat

and exceed the USDA requirements. [redacted] has been making false allegations

against my company even before her son started. When she signed him up she

stated to the Director, "Isn't this the center where all of the teachers

yell at the children?" The Director responded absolutely not. Yet, if she

honestly had heard this or even thought it why would she continue and enroll

her son? Also before she started she sent the following email: Are you guys

having a problem with your phone system. I have been > calling non stop

since 8am this morning and now it's 3.48pm and no one > has answered the

phone and an answering machine has been picked up. I > don't have a great

feeling since my son will be starting school there on Monday August 19. Good

Afternoon [redacted] > > Today is our Annual In-Service Training that

we conduct once a year. > It is listed on our holiday schedule. If you did

not receive a > holiday schedule, we will make sure you receive one first

thing Monday Morning. > > All six locations come together and receive

training that assists them > to better care for the children at our centers.

This is held at our > home office located at [redacted] We can > reassure you that we answer the phones when we are at the

center for everyone who calls. > > Sorry for any inconvenience that this

caused you today. If you have > any questions, please feel free to speak

with one of our Directors > Monday Morning or you may contact me at [redacted] Chief

Administrator [redacted] also stated on the phone that if I didn't refund all

of her money to her she was going to call the state and file a complaint. We

will vigorously protect our name against defamation and slander and will not be

blackmailed, which is what [redacted] is attempting to do by using the RevDex.com, threating to file a complaint with the state and the comments

she is making in the community. She will not receive any refunds as she signed

a contract. We provide an excellent early education program to many families

and children in the community who are very happy with our services.
