Hello, Below is our response regarding complaint *** This is in regards to the $to resident of #*** *** account in the months of January, February, and March, we are unable to reverse the charges in dispute because of resident(s) failure to provide proof of
coverage until 03/28/ West Town Court Apartments requires a $100,personal liability coverage for each apartment at all timesAs a courtesy we do offer coverage through RBH Liability for $monthly that is liability only and does not cover any personal belongings and is charged for any resident that does not provide us with a copy of their renter’s insurance declaration pageOn June 21th, Joanna signed our liability addendum which states resident is required to secure liability coverage for the apartment prior to move in, Joanna elected that she would purchase her own insurance, “add owners” as additional insured and provide owners with a copy of policyJoanna failed to do so and the time of move in, and as a result her account was charge $for liability coverage effective 09/1/15. On March 28, Joanna contact our office to ask about the $liability charge on her account, she stated she had purchase her own policy At that time the office request proof of coverage in order to stop the $RBH Liability chargeIt was at that time, the resident provide a copy of coverageUpon receipt of proof of coverage the office remove the $RBH Liability monthly charge from being charge in the future, and resident was notifiedJoanna spoke with the Assistant Manager & Property Manager whom both informed that we were unable to credit $liability charge for prior month due to failure to provide proof of coverage Unfortunately, due to the fact the charge is considered an insurance coverage, any prior months charge for coverage we are unable to remove the charge. We were working on this project last fall and into early winter. We ended up doing so much extra work, we believe were deceived on the total scope of work by homeowner from the start. We were supposed to scrape loose paint off areas of garage and porches. We ended up having to take off 4 layers of...

lead based paint, having to apply chemical stripper 3 different times. When I explained this to the property owner, she said she would not compensate us for the extra work. We could have just scraped the loose paint, but it would have looked terrible. Also the roof on the garage ended up having extra layer of shingles and cedar shake, had to be redecked. Agreement between homeowner and I was to come back in the spring to finish the work due to paint would not adhere if applied in the cold weather. We also had a 2 doors installed, one of which she had my installers do work which was not part of contract and she refused to pay. Approx 2 weeks ago homeowner contacted me about when we can finish the work, I told her I would get back to her the following day. The following day I received a text from homeowner saying she wanted another contractor to finish the work.

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[redacted] O'[redacted] from Century Remodeling was at our home on three separate occasions to assess the scope of work that needed to be completed, prior to us signing the work proposal that he composed.  On the third visit he assessed the paint on the garage and found it to be lead based.  He was also inside the garage at this time and assessed the roof, commenting that a sub-roof would need to be applied because of the cedar shakes.  Again, the proposal was completed after his multiple visits and assessments.  We are disappointed with the quality of work that was completed on the front of our home, and the fact remains that over half of the jobs are not completed.  The cost of having another contractor complete the jobs will exceed the cost of what has not been already been paid to Century Remodeling. The communication and e-mails between Century Remodeling and myself are available on request, as they are little different that how presented by Mr O'[redacted]. I would like a refund of $500 from Century Remodeling and will consider work that has been completed thus far to complete business/ consumer relationship. Would like to go with another contractor to complete unfinished work Regards, [redacted]
