My wife and I purchased a dining room set from this place on April 22 2015. As of this writing, July 24 2015, we still have yet to recieve this product. This purchase was significant because it had to be "custom made". My wife was told that it would take anywhere from 6 to 8 weeks given that it was a special order. We had no issues with that fact. However, around week 7 my wife contacted them to check on when it would be delievered to us, she was told that it would take another 2 to 3 weeks as to which time she informed them that she was told at the time of purchase something different. Moreover, on the bottom of the reciept it clearly states that we were to allow up to 8 weeks for special orders. We figured we'd wait it out another week or so to allow the maximum time instructed. Then at the 10 week mark and no phone call or any other communication from them, my wife and I both contacted them where we were both informed that it would take longer. I personally spoke with the owner of the company in which in he informed me that it hadn't even left the manufactor and that he would look at giving us a "discount on lamps" in order to "appease the wife". Not only did I find this meager attempt of trying to make it better, but then to blatently make a extremely sexist comment about my wife was it for me. Nonetheless, my wife and I figured that it would be another week given what the owner stated to me and that we'd get the dining room set and be done with it. Nonetheless, another week went by and no communication or attempt was made on behalf of the business to us. I made contact with them at which time I was told that they didn't have a date and I informed them that I wanted my money returned as we already paid almost $3600 US for a product that has yet to be recieved and the total incompetance of not only the staff but of the owner. We were offered a %15 return of the total amount paid. My wife and I agreed to these terms as we were to be leaving for a week out of town and it was told to us that the set would be delivered during our time away. However, on our vacation my wife recieved a call stating that it would not be delievered on the time that we were told, but later in the week. Although we were extremely disappointed we were will still to work with them given that we were out of town. Nonetheless, on the day of returning from out of state, my wife recieved another call stating that the table would not make it to Indiana from North Carolina as orginally told, but as early as Wed July 22nd but definantly by Thursday July 23rd. We have not recieved the table as promised and have did not have have not recieved a call. I made a call today Saturday Jul 25th and was informed that the set is to be delievered on Monday July 27th to the store and then we will recieve a call when they are going to deliver it to us.
As you can see from this long timeline, it is clear and apparent that Keifers in Shelbyville IN completely failed in their ability at customer service. It was only after my wife and I contacted them independantly at least a handful of times and threatened to have our money back that a meager attempt was made to try and "correct it" or "apologize" for this issue. The issue has not been resolved and I have no faith in this business whatsoever. I highly recommend that anyone DO NOT DO BUSINESS EVER with this establishment at this location or the other locations in the Indanapolis area. On a personal note, I'm flabergasted and surprised that they are still in business today or retain customers. Lastly, I was directly infomred by the owner that I wasn't the only customer that has or is currently going through this issue. Albeit that he specified this particular company, it can be readily noted and implied that it's not just this other company that Kiefers deals with either. Although I have agreed to wait on this table it is due to my current family situation and have no other option at this point. Again, avoid this place.

In order to write this review I had to at least give them one star, which they do not even deserve. We placed an order on 7/3/16 for a sectional from La-Z-Boy, end/coffee table set and matching entertainment center for a total of $4000+. We were told that the sectional would have to be ordered and would be 8-12 weeks. We were in the middle of purchasing a house so that was fine. Around 8 weeks later I called to check on the status and was rushed off by the salesman (Matt). Called the store a couple weeks later, spoke with Matt again, was told it was still on order. I asked that he check the status with La-Z-Boy and he said they could not do that. Seriously! At the end of the 12 full weeks I called again and just happened to speak with the owner, Brian. Needless to say he was clueless. Did not seem to know how to read the sales order and I had to tell him what we ordered. He said he would get with the salesman who took the order and get back with me the following week. He never called. So we called him the following Friday, 9/30/16, and he advised us that there was a mix up with our order and La-Z-Boy would have our order completed in 2 weeks. So we stated that with shipping and all that would be ready for delivery to us in roughly 3 weeks. Brian agreed with that. Yep, needless to say we have not heard from the store and DO NOT HAVE OUR FURNITURE! Yes, they were paid the entire amount at the time of sale and are in no hurry to get us our furniture. Called La-Z-Boy ourselves and were promised a call back yesterday with status of our order...yep...you guessed it...no call. We have filed a dispute with the credit card company used through Kiefer's and found out they were not to be paid until we had our furniture. The credit card company was under the impression, by the way the order was billed, that we got our furniture right then. Thankfully, the credit card company is going to dispute the charges on our behalf and credit us back and refund the payments we have already made. We will NEVER step foot in their store again and will warn everyone we know not to give them their business. La-Z-Boy is not any better as a company!
