Kieran Brothers Reviews (9)

My new kitchen was just completed, it is beautiful!! [redacted] and team were very helpful and professional. [redacted] guided us thru the selection process, made suggestions to keep us from making mistakes as it is hard to visualize when you haven't done this before. Each day the guys cleaned up, wiped things down and kept the remodel mess to a minimum. I was kept apprised of what would be done each day and they kept on schedule. I could not be more happy with Kieran Brothers and my beautiful new kitchen! I would HIGHLY recommend them!

I would like to recommend Kieran Brothers for and remodeling that you would like to do in your kitchen. They did a remarkable job for us, and I love my new kitchen. [redacted] designed a beautiful and very workable layout, with new cabinets and slide out shelves in all of the lower ones. One section of upper cabinets has glass doors, which display my collection of antique glassware and china. The crew that did all of the work were very responsible and did a good clean-up every day when they were finished. [redacted], the foreman, checked every day to be sure we were satisfied with the work that had been done. They finished on time, and on budget. There were a few minor problems as the work progressed, but [redacted] and his crew corrected them at once. I have been so thrilled with the kitchen, that I almost forgot to mention that the Master bathroom was also upgraded and revised to make it more accessible for my husband, who has had some medical problems. Grab bars were installed, and a snail shower was built in, which was easier for my husband to use with his walker. We were very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend them for any projects that you have in mind. Thank you.

Review: On 9/4/2015, I paid [redacted] from Kieran Brothers a down payment of $7,500.00 for a kitchen remodel for my home. It was stated that the cabinets would take 4-6 weeks for delivery. The demolition of the bid was written that Stardust 'deconstructs' as a charitable contribution. In order to save on the remodeling costs, I contacted Stardust to deconstruct my kitchen. I had contacted Kieran Brothers for a recommended date, however, no one returned my call, so I self-calculated 6 weeks to delivery, thus Stardust was scheduled for 10/12/2015. When [redacted] did meet to go over my kitchen design on 10/2/2015, he suggested that Stardust should deconstruct on 10/19. (When I contacted Stardust, they were scheduling into November, so I stayed with my original date of 10/12/2015).

10/16/2015, I contacted Kieran Brothers again to get a delivery date of the cabinets and also for a date that the drywall work/electrical, etc would be scheduled. My call was not answered however, I received a text, that my call would be returned when he was out of the meeting he was in. That call was regarding the delivery of the cabinets and the scheduled date for drywall, etc. I was told that he ([redacted]) was currently on his way to another appointment and was not in the office to provide a specific date on cabinet delivery, but that they were scheduling for the following week for construction work. On 10/21/2015 at 10:39AM, I received a voice mail and a text to inform me that Kieran Brothers had filed bankruptcy.

The 50% down payment I made on 9/4 was made with $7,500.00CASH in order to receive a 'cash' discount of approximately $2000. Now, I am without cabinets in my kitchen, and no money to get my kitchen remodeled.

This company STOLE my money.

A bankruptcy does not happen over night, and [redacted] took my CASH down payment 9/4/2015 without batting a lash.Desired Settlement: REFUND! I want my money refunded so that I can move forward with a new contractor to complete the remodeling of my kitchen.

Review: No communication, not keeping promises, constant rework, no sense of urgency, excuses for non performance, subcontractors that have no idea what they are supposed to do.Desired Settlement: Do what you say you are going to do.

Review: I have placed a substantial down payment ($4013.18) with Kieran Brothers, expecting that they would show up to do a bathroom remodel. However, no one ever showed. Several emails were sent, phone calls were made, but there has been no response back concerning my matter.Desired Settlement: I would like to regain my deposit monies, since, at this time, it does not seem work will commence on my project.

I initially called Kieran Brothers to do a bathroom remodel based on their A rating on [redacted]'s List. From the initial consultation, they made me feel comfortable when I shared with them my ideas and designs. I was pleased with their involvement from start to finish. The entire crew was polite, professional, and very informative on their respective trades. I really appreciated their ability to stay on schedule, even with all the changes that were involved. I was able to get a hold of the Project Manager any time I had a question, suggestion, or concern. During the duration of the project, the crew maintained a clean workplace by taking out trash and covering exposed areas. The quality of the craftsmanship was outstanding! The end result was exactly what I envisioned and I am happy with my new bathroom. I would definitely recommend them, and I will definitely be giving them a call for my kitchen remodel.

We hired Kieran Brothers to do a kitchen remodel near the end of 2013. Very happy with the outcome. When [redacted] came in for the initial consulation, he totally changed our idea of what we were looking for - suggesting moving appliances, moving walls, breaking up concrete, etc. Obviously we were concerned about price, but his quote came in not too much higher than the quotes we had been getting for significantly less improvements. The end result is fantastic and we're so happy we met [redacted] and his plans, as opposed to the direction we were originally going. As far as the deconstruction and construction crews, everyone that came in was very courteous, clean, friendly yet professional, and seemed to do extremely high quality work. The cabinetry and granite and tile that we got are very high quality. The end result is model home worthy. The ONLY improvement I would suggest is more involvement from the Project Manager(s).

Review: I was notified Oct 2015 this company has filled bankruptcy, a week before work was suppose to start. I provided them a deposit for new cabinets and counters, and not only am I dead in the water on my full kitchen remodel, but I have to face a legal process to get my deposit back. The sad part is I believe they took my business and entered into the contact knowing the filing with imminent.

I chose to work with this company based on info I read on [redacted] and Revdex.com and it sounded like a reputable company. However, the entire experience with the company was a nightmare. The project started on Sep 24 and was to be completed and walk thru by Oct 14. The project was not completed until Dec 19. (Due to a death in the family I was gone for two weeks and taking that into account the project took 13 weeks to complete instead of the initial 2 weeks outlined on the schedule given to me.) There was no one on-site to oversee the project. On occasion someone would show up to check on the progress. Some days scheduled workers would show up at 9:30 am instead of 8:00 or they would be pulled off the job after a few hours to go finish another job. On two occasions work was scheduled and no one showed up. I had a worker show up one day and he asked me what he was supposed to do. I had no idea what his specialty was but showed him the bathroom and told him I thought he should be telling me what he intended to do. The lights were not delivered to the house and the workers had to guess how far up above the cutout for the medicine cabinets the electrical outlet should be for the lighting. The plumber didn't remove the spout for the old shower head and the next day the worker was installing the backer board for the shower. I noticed he didn't remove the shower head and asked him if he intended to do so and he said that wasn't his job. I had to call the office and they had to have the plumber return to remove the shower head spout. That meant removing the backer board that had been installed. The drywall worker installed the pony wall but no one told him it was to be tiled so he installed bullnose edges. After the tile was installed there was a half inch of grout filling in the space between the tile and the bullnose edge. The drywall had to be removed and completed correctly. There was no grout around the entire top edge of the shower. I guess they figured it was so high up I wouldn't notice it. Also tile installer didn't follow instructions and failed to install the decorative tiles in the pack of the niches. I blame this on the lack of oversight by a site manager. He also set up a electric saw in the bathroom and proceeded to cut tiles which immediately set off all my fire alarms. I can't imagine what he was thinking. [redacted] made an appoint for a final walk thru on Nov 19 which seemed odd to me because the new shower hose/head was still laying on the floor of the bathroom where it had been for weeks. In addition the shelves that were installed needed to have touch up paint, the shower edges grouted and the outside stucco wall repaired. The stucco job where the window was removed turned out to be a disaster. Not only did the stucco pattern not match the rest of the house, it bulged out and was painted with a glossy paint. One could see the entire outline of where the removed window had been. Sandpaper that I had on my workbench in the garage turned up missing and tiles left over from the bathroom remodel were missing. It makes me wonder what else was missing from the garage that I do not know about. To sum it up, deadlines were not met, work was either done incorrectly and had to redone or I just accepted what was done. Workers either showed up late, had to leave early or did not show up at all and there was no one overseeing the project. Much of the work was substandard and I don't know how many phone calls I had do make to the office to find out is what was going on or when was someone supposed to show up. The only thing that really turned out without a hitch was the countertop and glass installation and that was because it was done by a contractor.
