Review: In April 2013 we hired Kiker Construction for three job remodels that totaled approximately $11,000. The first job was a bathroom remodel that was bid at $4,800. We gave $5,500 down. With draws as follows: completion of first bathroom $2,750; final completion of project $2,750. On June 21st he still had not completed this first bathroom. On June 21, 2013, Mr. Kiker asked for more money because he did not have enough to purchase the rest of the supplies for the project. Glass doors were to be purchased from the down payment for the shower of this bathroom remodel. He told me he did not have the money. I offered to purchase the door so we could finish the project and I did. He will not complete the project because he wants more money whereas the contract specifically states he gets nothing more until the first bathroom is completed. I now will have to get another construction company to complete this project. Mr. Kiker owes me the difference between the down payment and the cost of the remodel ($5,500 - $4,800) plus the cost of the glass shower door that I purchased but was in the cost of the project ($300). Mr. Kiker owes me $1,000 plus the future cost the construction company will charge to complete this bathroom project. I have copies of texts where he promised to come but hardly ever shows up. This was a seven day project that started in April and it is now July and it is not completed. I finally had to cut ties with this company and seek reputable construction company that will complete this in a timely manner. Three months for a 7 day job is a bit much. Plus, we have been cheated for over $1,000.Desired Settlement: Mr. Kiker needs to refund $1,000 + $500 (cost to complete the bathroom) for a total of $1,500.
