I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.It is not true that they offered to show me how to install the floor.   I did speak to [redacted] who told me that the product was "tricky".  He did not offer any assistance or demonstrations.  However the product IS DEFECTIVE as I have described before.  It failed to lock into place making the installation impossible.  I should not have to pay a restocking fee to return a defective product.  I would like to resolve this matter outside of court; so please make a reasonable offer of restitution.

We are in touch in the manufacturer on this one. We have filed a claim with them. They are working on determining the problem, they are wanting to know what type of subfloor was used when we talked to them on 10/16/**. We are working hard to resolve the problem. As soon as the mill tells us...

We were contracted to install Mr. [redacted] floor and we did that and there are no problems with his tile floor.
After we came out and gave him his quote he removed the existing flooring. We are a flooring company and not a plumbing company. He needs to contact a plumbing company to fix his...

problem. When we looked at his floor the existing floor was still there we included nothing in our quote for plumbing repairs. We have told him this numerous times.

Response: Mr [redacted] is upset about a re-stocking fee for material he returned. Mr. [redacted] ordered special order Core-tec flooring that he was going to install himself. After taking the material home he called into the store to say that he was having an issue putting the floor together. As a courtesy...

we offered to send out our Service Manager to show him the proper way to install the flooring but he refused the assistance. He later decided to bring the material back to the store and return it. We checked the material and found no problem with it and returned it to the manufacture to check the locking installation system. They also found no problem with it; if there had been any defect they would have refunded the full purchase price. The re-stocking fee is the charge for returning special order material to the manufacture. We are sorry that Mr [redacted] is disappointed but there was no defect and there is a charge to return the item to the manufacture. As an additional courtesy we would offer to apply the re-stocking fee as a store credit to purchase other material.
