In March of 2017, the consumer, [redacted]hired me to do a renovation on his kitchen.   An electrical permit was filed(BN-1619) on April 19th of 2017, for the work on  the consumer's vacationcondo.  On May 9th 2017, upon completion of the "rough-in" stage of theproject, the...

Electrical Inspector ([redacted]) and the FireMarshall ([redacted]) inspected the the project and informed mewhat needed to be done to be compliant for the final inspection. Uponnotifying the consumer, [redacted] of the inspection, he went into a fury, yelling and screaming that the inspectors "ILLEGALLY" entered his vacationcondo.  Mr. [redacted] also put me in a difficult position of either having tochoose between being compliant with the inspectors, or abiding by hisdemands. Because I will not go against the inspector's requirements, I askedthe inspector to close the permit and I respectfully informed Mr. [redacted] thathe needed to find another electrician.  As far as my end of the projectstalling it's completion, to reiterate, the "rough-in" stage of theelectrical project has been completed and the Kitchen cabinets were notscheduled to be installed until after Memorial Day. There was no writtencontract on Mr [redacted]'s kitchen re-wire project, only that the total cost should be below $2,000 barringany additional changes. At completion of the rough-in stage, we are stillbelow  $2,000.  Mr. [redacted] had no problems with my rate until the disputeregarding the Electrical Inspection.  Mr. [redacted] also still owes me $200. Mr. [redacted]'s kitchen rough-in wiring has been completed and was inspected by the electricalinspector and fire marshal, and is ready for kitchen cabinet installation. The consumer claims I have left his project in shambles with wires hangingall over the place.  The original verbal agreement was for me to wire thekitchen and maybe the bathrooms.  Any wires "hanging out" can be attributedto the kitchen cabinets needing to be installed.  Additional wires "hangingout" in the bathrooms are attributed to: either the consumer, Mr [redacted], oran outside contractor performing demolition work on the bathrooms.  Toreiterate my previous response, the electrical inspector has mandated a listof items to be performed in order to be in compliance.  Mr [redacted] has chosennot to be in compliance and has tried to pass any potential added costs ontothe contractor. Because his original layout of his project was vague withoutany precise blueprint, any pre-job estimate is inaccurate.  Because hiskitchen has been rewired and is now ready for cabinet installation, and hestill owes me $200, his request of $1,500 dollars from the me isunjustifiable.  His claim that I ILLEGALLY allowed the fire marshal andelectrical inspector to enter his vacation condo is false.  When there is anopen permit, they have the legal right to enter.  Because the consumer Mr.[redacted] has been late for appointments, late with project layouts, andprimarily because of his refusal to comply with the electrical inspector, Ihave chosen to close the work permit.  The in-house electrician at his condocomplex, because of past difficulties, has also chosen not to work for him.
