Review: Kilmarnock Auto Clinic has had for four years a boat that I left for repair. I have bought all the parts as requested and now I am being told that they will not put the boat back together. I have not gotten an answer as to why not only to be told " come pick up the boat"Desired Settlement: All I what is the boat put back in one piece. I do not know what is going on.

We received notification of a complaint regarding our business. ID [redacted]. Our response to this complaint is that customer left his boat four years ago for repair. However, this boat happens to be a [redacted] model. At the time of drop off the customer was advised that it would be in his best interest to do a complete update on his power package due to the age of the boat. All of the parts have been discontinued and are almost impossible to locate. The customer insisted on keeping it all original. After numerous hours of searching for these parts to no avail, we told the customer he was welcome to keep searching, but because we do not charge customers to research for parts we could no longer invest any further time on this. The customer was able to locate some parts, however, many of them were incorrect. Finally after much time and many incorrect parts it seemed the customer had all of his parts in order. Upon disassembling the unit two major components were found to be severely corroded and one component broke. After much research we located a used one that was supposed to be ready for install. Due to the high cost we told the customer he would need to purchase the part himself which he did, however, it was nowhere near ready for install and it had the same problem as his original one. The customer wanted us to tear down and repair this unit, which we refused to do. We advised him to contact the seller and have them ship him a part that was in working order. At this point the customer has not paid any money to us for the labor already done to this boat or for any of the parts we have located and replaced. We have told him we will not put the boat back together with broken parts due to liability issues. Had the customer heeded our advise at the onset to do an update on his boat it would have long since been ready for his use and all of the problems been avoided.
