Complaint: ***I am not accepting MrK*** response because he has left out some very important details. First off, I met MrK** through a general contractor that was doing some indoor remodeling for me at the time. MrK** was to stain new interior wood doors and molding. It was while he was doing this work that I asked him if he was interested in painting the exterior of my home and that's how this whole debacle started. According to my financial records, I gave him $up front for a $job. After MrK** more closely inspected my home he told me that of the front fascia boards needed to be replaced and he charged me $which I paid him at the time of that assessment. He sent another contractor to my home to do the work and he only replaced of the boards stating that the rest were fine and that $was too much of an overpayment; that actually $was a more accurate price. After speaking with MrK** the next day, he agreed to apply the $over payment to the charge for the paint job. (Just as an aside note, the work on one of the fascia boards is now failing - with all the rain that we are now getting, I have a continual leak through the wood at the corner. This was not seen during the summer due to the dry weather.) On June 17th, MrK** bought me a couple of quart cans of interior paint that totaled up to $He also asked me to add in an additional $225 because he had to pay another painter who was doing the work inside my home that he was supposed to have been doing. I later found out that, in fact, the interior remodeling contractor was paying him and that MrK** did not give him a penny - so much for the truth. In addition, the interior remodeling contractor basically fired MrK** from that original job and gave it to the painter that was actually doing the workSo to add it all up I paid him$towards the cost of the paint job and $for the fascia work. Now to the quality of the work that was done - when I hired MrK*, he told me that he was going to Power wash the entire house and caulk all the holes in the wood siding on the front of my house before he was going to start painting. What actually happened is that he brought the power washer out to my home at 3PM on a Sunday afternoon and worked until about 5. He left stripes of dirt on the north side of my home (vinyl siding) as well as all the stains from bird droppings on the wood under the vent holes of my attic (we had had birds in our attic several years ago) in the front of the house. On his next visit, he proceeded to paint my home with the primer without doing any of the caulkingAnd then he brought the other man who sprayed my home without putting down drop cloths or covering my windows leading to the overspray on my roof, gray paint on my front view window including the white trim of the window, the glass and the screen, gray paint on my foot hinoki cypress tree that was adequately trimmed prior to the painting as requested and that is now dying because of the paint on the branches and needles, gray paint on my exterior light and door bell, gray paint on entry rugs and on hose nozzles that were laying on the porch steps. After realizing the damage that was done, I looked up his license information on the L&I website only to shockingly find out that his license, bond and insurance had, in fact, been suspended as of April 2014. (When I initially hired him, he handed me his business card which listed him as being licensed bonded and insured and I trusted him to be an honest man.) For me, at that point, I was thankful that no one had gotten hurt while working on ladders and the roof of my home because there was no insurance covering them as I thought there was. He came to my home the next day wanting to 'fix' the mess. I confronted him about the suspended license and he stated that he did not know that that had happened (over a year later!!) and that he would take care of it - which he did on the next business day but unfortunately that was too late to take care of my situation. He wanted to power wash and scrub my year old roof which would have negated my warranty and I was not willing to allow that. I did consult with a landscaper that MrK** recommended and he gave me a bid of $to replace my tree which has not yet been done. After all the untruths and poor workmanship that was done for this job, I did not want MrK** or any of his workers to do anything else on my home. And yes, I do have his sprayer which has been and still is the only thing I could use to get my money back. He has given me $but that is less than a 1/of what I paid him for the job and in no way does it reimburse me for the damages to my home. In addition, I had to hire another painter and a window washer - they both charged me extra to clean up the mess that was left behindMrK** did order the replacement of the damaged shingles on my roof which cost $but according to the company that completed the work, as of the end of September 2015, MrK** has not paid them either. At this point, I feel I have compromised with him as I am only requesting only MrK** to pay me the money I paid him for the painting job and $for the poorly done fascia boards as well as the money to replace my hinoki cypress tree. This now totals up to $2800. I am not charging him for the extra costs I paid to clean up his mess or for the other items that were damaged by the paintI am also willing to take monthly payments until it is paid upI believe he is aware of these options but has refused to follow through. *** ***

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: It isn't an accurate account of what Young K** spent. At the most, the soffit repair materials cost around $100. There were 2 pieces of 4x-8 plywood, 3 packs of shingles and felt paper. Young K** texted me last week that he would like to give me a refund but he bough the materials for the soffit. I then responded that I'd be happy to deduct the materials from the refund. We paid $750 for the soffit repair. With my calculations, $650 would still be owed for the soffit repair (deducting $100 for materials.)
As far as the painting, Young K** mentioned the section we had his workers spray before leaving our job site. This took them no more than 10 min of actual spraying and was done out of decency. At this point I don't care about arguing when it comes to the paint job. I would just like the refund for the soffit as Young mentioned in his text message. Sincerely,[redacted]
