Kimball, John D. III D.D.S. Reviews (2)

Review: In Spokane, if you have [redacted] insurance you have 3 choices of dentist's. We chose to go to [redacted] the office of [redacted]. After being seen there and not caring for it, we decided to switch dentists. When we switched the new office needed a copy of the x-rays taken at [redacted], so my husband signed the request. A few days later I received a letter saying that I would need to pay a $35 fee for a copy of the xrays to be sent. I called and made the payment on 2-14-14, when I asked I was told that the x-rays would be sent that same day the payment was made. Almost a week later, he went back to the dentist and they still had not received a copy of his x-rays even after two different people in the new office tried to get them. So I called and talked to the same receptionist that took my $35 payment and told me they would be sent the same day. This time when I asked her why they had not been sent, she told me that they had up to 15 days to send them and after questioning why she did not tell me that when I called to make my payment, she rudely hung up on me. So on 3-6-14, he had a consultaion with the oral surgeon and they needed a copy of the x-rays, come to find out they still had not been sent, so the oral surgery office had to take a new x-ray that would not be covered by insurance (because one was already done). As of 3-11-14 when he went beck to the new dentist office for more dental work, they still had not received the x-rays and ended up obtaining them from the oral surgery office immediately. I called [redacted] on 3-12-14 and requested a refund of the $35 fee they charged me for x-rays that were never sent and the receptionist told me that they have 30 days to send them and that she would not refund my money. She lied to me and robbed me of my $35.Desired Settlement: All I want is the $35 they charged my account for the x-rays that were never sent. The office should give me my $35 back because the other offfice never recieved the x-rays and we had to pay out of pocket for new ones.

Response:

The radiographs were sent to the email address requested within the time parameters specified in the patient's [redacted] contract.

This complaint is baseless.

Response:

I have read my [redacted] benefits book cover to cover and I see no place that it states how long an office has to send x-rays. The basis of my complaint is that these x-rays were not sent in a timely matter for treatment. After multiple calls to the new office, they still have not recieved these x-rays but were able to obtain them from the oral surgery office within minutes of sending the request. Even if these were sent, they were not sent in a timely matter for treatment of the patient.

Response:

After hearing and dealing with the person complaining, it is absolutely no surprise that she does not feel "resolution".

Again, all parameters of our contract with her carrier, [redacted] were met. There is really no other need for further discussion--the lady is a "time waster".

I am not a "time waster", if anything you are the "time waster". We wasted over a month going to this office and waiting for these x-rays to be recieved so that my husband could recieve much needed dental work. I don't appreciate the way this was handled and the way I am being treated and talked to. This so called "bussiness" has no right to talk to patients the way this dentist and office manager have talked to me. This is no way to do "bussiness". You robbed $35 from my family and I. We are a family of 4 living on 1 part-time income and all I am asking for is my $35 back for something that you have no proof was ever sent. The bottom line is that I requested a copy of x-rays and paid your $ 35 fee with the expectation that these would be sent in a timely matter for treatment and they were not. They were not even sent after the new office called multiple times, that is NOT timely, that is not how you do "bussiness".
