Was interested in a Jaguar XJI saw on autotrader.com located in NHBut I live in VA, and also the car was previously damaged in an accident So before buying the car online - sight unseen - I called an auto shop in NH (Approved Auto) to arrange an independent inspectionI asked AA about the reputation of Chaya Bros., and they said Chaya Bros- a salvage dealer - had the local reputation of NEVER permitting ANY inspections of their cars - even at the buyer's expenseI couldn't believe that, so I called Chaya Brothers about my interest in the Jag, and asked if I could have the car inspected - at MY EXPENSEChaya BrosREFUSED, but said they would permit someone to visit their lot and give the car "a QUICK look-over"I mentioned how a decent inspection for rust, mechanicals, electrical, etc.) would involve more than thatBut again they REFUSEDThis struck me as VERY, VERY SUSPICIOUSI would warn potential buyers of Chaya Broscars to STAY AWAYAlso, IMHO, Autotrader should implement a Buyer Protection Policy that guarantees all Sellers to permit independent inspections at the Buyers' expenseOtherwise Autotrader is not being a good steward of fair trade where the public can transact business IN GOOD FAITHUntil - I will shop elsewhere
