How a business could operate without a service order form to be filled out by the customer accepting charges to prevent any missed communication? Kim's Auto care is and example of this fraud. Its like you take your car to the dealership for oil change and have other detailed explanation of other service  requesting or demanding necessary needed services for your vehicle with a proof of work done with results. But in the case of Kim's Auto Care is different, I was driving my care for little while before its went to Kim's Auto care, its has been looked at by different auto experts talked about the same thing (sparks plugs change). At that time I was not ready to have anything done.  We came to the  the body shop next to his with my wife's car for some body work to be done when we finally derided to have the spark plugs change done as well  that's when we went next door at kim's Auto care for price quote in present of my wife and I he told us $260.00 part and labor charge. We vaguely ask if we could buy our own parts he said no because he is not going to guaranteed it. However after all set and done amount change did not accept anything other than to change plugs. Out of anger and frustration and without thinking  what I was going to expect I didn't have all the money which he told me on that day $1,456.00 in the presence of the responding officer who took his time asking him for new parts receipt, proof of repairs. Nothing was available at that time to show the officer and I  the amount was verbally announced to the officer and I. which the officer told him to put it in writing that is when he prepare the service order form. Please let me know, is this a good business practice?

Review: I took my vehicle to Kim Auto care for spark plugs change, he ask me to leave it and he will call me when finished because he was working on another vehicle at the moment. I therefore left him my number and he told me is going to be $260.00 for parts and labor or less . I called after three hours later and he told me he is going to start working on it right away and he will call me back. After an hour later I got a call from him to come pick up my car where he told me the cost is going to be $1,456.26 I ask him what did he change on my car and he started listing all kind of part which he doesn't have any purchased receipts for at that moment and I said to him that I drove this car to your shop it was not towed here all the parts that you are naming right now will never be at fault other wise this car can't be driven if this part were not in good condition. moreover you've not disclosed it to me or I have not authorized the work perform. I have not signed any paper work with you neither agreed for you to do nothing other then change a simple spark plugs. He became angry and aggressive with me nearly chased me out of his shop, so I called the police which the officer said is a civil matters. He still have my car and I don't know what to do nonDesired Settlement: I can pay him what him and in the presents of my wife agreed to or if you like the vehicle so much I can sell it to him other then trying to take it away from me constructively

Response:

Respose to the complaint {ID; [redacted])The customer Initially asked us to fix engine misfiring and we gave them a quote of $ 498,00 for engine tuneup including replacement of spark plugs. They agreed to fix it by that price, Later we found that a fuel injector is bad. We called and told them that a fuel injector must be replaced. They agree to repair it. Upon their consent we fix the car and total repair cost was $1,081.18. After fixing car we contacted them to pick up car. The customer came and had a test drive and was very satisfied with the repair. However, he did not have money to pay the cost, saying that they would like to pay it when they receive federal tax return. After week later, they did not come to pick up their car so we called them again and again but they did not response to our call. Month later, we added storage charge so that total cost went up $1,456,00. We simply hold the customer car because they could not pay repair cost.We do not understand how $260.00 comes up to thier mind (probably they misunderstood the price of rear whee strut which we quoted $260.00).Thank you very much.
