Kindersley Trailers Reviews (%countItem)

My work trailer was broken into and the door latch was damaged. I went to this business to see if they could replace the mechanism. Prices for the whole unit are around 129.99. the business owner suggested welding it. U agreed thinking it would be less. Because I was in a pinch to get the work done I gave him the go ahead. When I returned to pick up my trailer I was confronted with a bill of 586.25. a little upset over this I contacted another welding companies to ask what the charge would be... Quoted between 75 and 200. Aside from that the workmanship is very poor.

Desired Outcome

Would like a refund on the work done

When the customer came in to see about getting his door fixed, I went outside to have a look at it. I explained to him first what we had to do before taking on the job. The piece on the door latch was hanging on by just a thin piece of steel. I told him to be careful with it so as not to have it come completely apart as that would have made the job even harder.
This was not just a simple welding job. In order to repair it, we had to tack weld it first so it would open and close correctly. This required two people as one person had to hold it in place while the other one did the welding. We then had to install a piece of rod in the broken area which had a big gap. As I explained to him, in order to do the welding without damaging the aluminum siding on the trailer, we had to remove the 6 brackets that were holding it on. We then welded both sides of the latch to fill in the gap, tried our best in that awkward area to grind it down, and then reinstall the latch.
In order to do the job, we pulled another trailer out of the shop so we could help him out by doing the repair the same day because he was leaving town on Sunday.
If he would have told me at the time that he could get a new latch for $129.99, I would have told him right then to get it and not bother repairing this one.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I asked him about a new latch first he suggested repairing it. The mistake I made was assuming that repairing it as per his suggestion would have been more economical than replacing it. Very disappointed in the end result of the job that was completed.

I would put zero stars if possible. Very poor customer service and unprofessional. Had the owner come view my trailer, for a Total loss appraisal and he wouldn't tell me a price, but ensured it wouldn't be to much. The next day I found a $250 security deposit charge on my credit card, they saved my credit card on file and charged it without informing me. For the Total loss appraisal I was charged $300 and it stated "in my opinion this trailer would be considered a write off". Not impressed I wouldn't recommended this so called business to anybody. Better off driving to Saskatoon RV Superstore!

Unfortunately, I don't remember this customer. Do you have an invoice number that I could refer back to?
