My name is Joe [redacted]. I represent Kindle Autp Plaza as the used vehicle manager. I am writing to respond to the Revdex.com complaint id number [redacted] from Joseph [redacted].Mr. [redacted] purchased from Kindle Auto Plaza on January 22nd 2016 a...
2008 Buick Lucerne with 88261 miles on it. The vehicle was purchased with our standard 3 month or 3000 mile power-train warranty. Mr. [redacted] returned to our service department on March the 9th with 93590 miles. At that point the vehicle was out of warranty by over 2300 miles and had a major transmission problem. We had discussion with Mr. [redacted] about how he was going to pay for the repair which would be replacing the transmission for approximately 4000. After some back and forth Mr. Dave [redacted], our General Manager authorized me to offer to help Mr. [redacted] even though the vehicle was out of warranty. I was authorized to offer splitting the bill with Mr. [redacted]. We told Mr. [redacted] that as soon as he had the money needed to pay for half of the repair we would start doing it. After a short period Mr. [redacted] informed us that he had only 500 available to pay for the repair.Mr. [redacted] authorized me to allow Mr [redacted] to make payments on the balance as well as looking at an outside company to see if there was a way to make the repair less expensive. After making several inquiries I found that [redacted] in Egg Harbor Township would be less on a rebuilt unit as well as maybe being able to rebuild the existing transmission for only 2000. I informed Mr.[redacted] of the plan and on March 18th he arrived at our showroom to drop off the 500 original payment as well as sign a promissory note to pay the balance $100 a month until the bill was paid. I was told that day that there was a complaint filed and spoke to Mr. [redacted] about it. He advised me that he filed before I had made the final arrangements and would contact the Revdex.com to withdraw the complaint. I thanked him at that point assuming it would be done. The vehicle was towed to [redacted] on the 18th, and they informed that the transmission could be rebuilt and the vehicle was returned to Mr. [redacted] on the 24th.Thank YouJoe [redacted]Used Car ManagerKindle Auto Plaza###-###-####[redacted]
To update complaint [redacted] and I have been in touch and we have agreed to a monetary settlement of $212. He is completely satisfied with this resolution. Sincerely, Ed B[redacted]Kindle Ford – Lincoln Inc.[redacted]
Review: I brought my vehicle in for a brake repair. The service department purportedly identified significant problems and recommended replacing rotors, pads and calipers for over $1,000. The service department reported that the pads were worn through and that the calipers were "frozen" and that total replacement was the only option. After contacting three other [redacted] dealers, all others agreed that it was highly unlikely that the calipers needed replacement and that, even if that was the case, the repair should not cost more than $800. I retrieved my car and brought it to another local [redacted] dealer who confirmed that the calipers were not damaged in any way and repaired the brakes for $350. Kindle [redacted] charged me $50.00 for a examination of my car and Kindle [redacted] fraudulent repair recommendations. Calls to the service and sales department managers were not returned.Desired Settlement: I want Kindle [redacted] to return the $50.00 it charged me.
