Review: My father was referred to Kindness-Care home health after being hospitalized for 35 days and discharged home with a chest tube. The case was open and 2 nurses came out at different days and went over his medications. Nurse [redacted] came out and went over medications and when she asked if there were any concerns or questions by my father or my sister who was there at the time, my sister asked if she was going to change my father's dressing on the chest tube and make sure the chest tube is in, Nurse [redacted] said she did not have an order nor the supplies but never even checked it. She also informed my father she did not even need the chest tube. Medical advice only a doctor can provide to a patient. She did not check tube placement or call the doctor to see if she can get an order to change the dressing which that's what the nurse should have done. She informed both by sister and father she is a pediatric nurse. The Nurse Practioner from the insurance company called the home health office to see if the nurse can come back out because his dressing was falling off and looking pretty nasty because it had not been changed in about 4 days. No phone call or anyone back out. I called the office spoke to the charge nurse informed her of the above and informed her that I had to change my father's dressing because it was falling apart and looking nasty. I informed her that I was a nurse and have worked home health and I know what they are suppose to be doing and he is suppose to have the home health for chest tube follow up. She continued to tell me that she spoke to [redacted] and [redacted] informed her that the dressing was intact and all looked good. I informed her no it hasn't been and asked if they were gonna call the doctor to get an order to changed the dressing or do I have to do their job. She said I have to keep an eye on it. When I called a few days later to inform someone else named [redacted] some information she was absolutely rude! As a nurse the care they provide is poor! Very sad for those who don't know.Desired Settlement: I know the insurance company was already billed but I believe the company should not be paid for those visits that they provided due to them coming out and going over medications both times and no care for the chest tube. He was suppose to have Home Health care for that tube until it was removed. I hope that they provide better care for others. As a nurse and past home health nurse the care provided with this company is very disappointing. We have a new company and excellent services.
