Dear Mr. C[redacted]Our records indicate your Kinetico system was installed 9/13/2008; please see attached signed invoice with your address: [redacted].Our records indicate you purchased two sets of filters for your Kinetico system 5/7/2010; please see attached computer purchase copy, showing when you came into office.Our records indicate you contacted the office, after the leak, and our serviceman was at [redacted] on May 12, 2016; please see attached invoice.We have not performed any service on your Kinetico system since the original installation date.
Attached is the owner's manual stating "Kinetico recommends annual cartridge replacement, even if your system has not shut off. It also states: "When your Macguard Filter does shut off, we recommend you call your local, authorized Kinetico dealer. They will change your cartridges, completely sanitize your system, check your water and make sure your system is operating properly.”
Mr. C[redacted], you stated that your system did not work back in 2010 (per your previous letter) so the question remains, why didn’t you call us for service? We haven’t seen your system since the day of install, 9/13/2008. It is relevant because, per the owner’s manual, the system must be maintained. For example, let’s say you purchased a car in 2008 from a car dealer and the manufacturer of the car states you need to change the oil filter every year. You change it for the 3 three years but not for the next 5 years. On the 2nd change, you have problems with the engine, but never contact the dealer or have any service done on the car. Then, in 2016 the engine blows and causes an accident. Do you think you could go back to the car dealer and ask them to pay for the accident?We are going on 30 years of business here in the Valley, with tens of thousands of happy and satisfied customers. In response to Mr. M[redacted]…   We purchased the water station in September of 2009, and not 2008, how can you be so sure from day one we decided to change the filters ourselves? Besides it’s irrelevant, but you do fail to disclose we purchased more than one set of filters, in...

2010… BUT the water was not coming out of the filters, and there was rust in the inside of the equipment, even if we had changed the filters every 6 months we will have the same outcome. A leaky product. Yes, the water system was moved, and I called your office in June of 2012 to ask how about moving the equipment, the person who answered the phone said we didn’t require to use Kinetico and we can hire a licensed contractor to move the equipment, which is what we did. She didn’t ask for information where it would be moved, nor she told me I needed to notify you. All of this was discussed in our phone conversation on 5/10/16, and you didn’t mention any of that being a problem, in fact you said yes, that is OK. In short, yes, your company was aware we moved. We have not voided the warranty, we did what your company suggested at the time of the move, the constant filter changes are recommended but do not void the warranty. Be an honorable person and accept the faulty equipment responsibility.

I won a Maricopa County court judgment of $925 against Kinetico Quality Water System on February 19, 2015. I have not received any payment from Kinetico. The judgment was for mold and termite damage caused by a leak in their system. They have not responded to any court paper filings, nor did they appear for the trial, nor have they responded to the judgment against them.
