On Sunday, September 5th, my son, my two grandsons and I visited Magic Springs in order to enjoy the park and water park I regret to say we were very disappointed in many respects The crowd was understandable since it was the last weekend of the season, however, those who are responsible for stocking the park should have anticipated a large crowd It was quite hot on the 5th and even though I have been attending theme parks for the better part of years, I have never witnessed one running out of cool drinks, especially during the hottest part of the day (4pm) and considering the possibility of lawsuits for heatstroke The area that we were in had no water and the "Icee" stand was completely shut down By the time we found a restaurant, they had closed for the day! We were told they shut down early for cleaning in anticipation of the close of the park for the day, but shutting food and drinks down during the supper hour and hours before the park closes seems quite ridiculous, as I am sure it doesn't take hours to wipe a few counters & mop the floor! Furthermore, even the "Coolzone," located in the THEME park, not the WATER park, had been closed down early, as well It had been open earlier in the day, on our way to another ride, but was also closed during mid-day when we were near enough to have participated There were no signs to indicate that it would close at 7pm with the water park and we did not assume that it would, since it was obvious the theme park and water park were two separate entities Even the "Log Ride" was shut down the whole day It looked like it had been for some time, as it was filthy and smelled pretty bad It was almost as if Magic Springs wanted to punish us for coming out on such a hot day! We were there from open to close, and rode only about six rides Part of the reason was the large crowd, however, part was the fact that the signs in the park were confusing as to which way they were pointingSome even pointed to dead ends The premier rollercoaster, the Gauntlet, was next to impossible to find, as there were no signs to lead to it, although it could be seen from many areas of the park We ran into the same problem in the water park: did not get to ride the big slides, as there were no signs pointing the way to the entrances We even had to ask how to "float the river" from a customer, since two park employees gave vague instructions, as if we were bothering them We found all the ride attendants quite rude except for a handful of them The signage for obtaining a free tube for rides was non-existent; we had to ask customers about that as well It is obvious that there are only a few free tubes, with the intent of forcing customers to pay for a tube that you will either have to lug around all day/all over the theme park as well or rent over & over, costing you more & more That was an obvious "bait and switch" ruse by the park Shameful! In addition, smokers beware: if you are lucky enough to find a designated smoking area, remember where it is, because those signs are some kind of tiny! Obviously, smokers' money is not as good as others' money! We finally found a deserted restaurant to hide behind & smoke, near the koi pond that had machines for fish food that we thought would keep the boys occupied while we had our cigarettes On par with the rest of the disappointments for the day, there was no fish food in the machines At that point, this did not surprise us Overall, it was a terrible experience for all of us, especially for one grandson that was deemed too short for the large rides I would venture to say the measuring sticks used by the park are too long by ½ inch, in order to err on the side of safety Because the entry fee is so steep, I measured both children prior to purchasing the tickets and decided to attend based on the fact both children were tall enough to get my money's worth Had either been too short to ride, we would have skipped coming until they were both tall enough One being able to ride when one is not causes too many problems and too much disappointment for all involved Moreover, being a grandparent, I definitely want to avoid disappointing either of my grandkids My grandchildren are moving away early next year, so there will not be another opportunity to enjoy a theme park with them for me However, I am sure others would appreciate a theme park run much better than this If there were another opportunity for me, I would definitely choose to drive an hour farther and go to Six Flags in Dallas, Texas This is what I will recommend to anyone who asks my opinion, in the future

I lost my glasses at the theme park on July 16thUnderstandably they told me that they would not pay for shipping, and that I would have to send a box with a prepaid label to get it sent backI sent a UPS box with insurance for my glasses and day shipping to and from the park. The box arrived the next daySome of the employees in guest services were extremely rude and even lost my glasses at one pointI have been calling every single day asking them about when my glasses will be sent outEvery day they told me "today"After the second week, someone from guest services tells me that they do not even send out the packages and that now it is with the administrative office who willWhy did it take them weeks to get my glasses to the administrator after I've been calling them everyday explaining how urgent it is for me to have my prescription glasses? When I speak to the administrator she sends them off the same dayI call her the next day because the UPS tells me that the package has not been picked upShe says they sent it through USPSThey lost my box and sent it in a different one insteadI paid for day shipping with UPS and when I asked her will they reimburse me she says that she can't do anything I ask her to at least give me the USPS tracking numberShe says that she didn't get itThis is ridiciulousIf the package gets lost then I have no way of knowing where it isTerrible customer service and extremely unorganized

Overall, it was a terrible experience for all of us, especially for one grandson that was deemed too short for the large rides. Had either been too short to ride, we would have skipped coming until they were both tall enough. One being able to ride when one is not causes too many problems and too much disappointment for all involved. Moreover, being a grandparent, I definitely want to avoid disappointing either of my grandkids.
My grandchildren are moving away early next year, so there will not be another opportunity to enjoy a theme park with them for me. However, I am sure others would appreciate a theme park run much better than this. If there were another opportunity for me, I would definitely choose to drive an hour farther and go to Six Flags in Dallas, Texas.
