I received your letter concerning the complaint from a customer of *** ***Their complaintis inaccurateFirst we are a contracted
management companyWe do not own the *** ***Water AssociationWe are contracted by the *** *** Water Association to manage the watersystem and do their water billingWe do weekly checks on the system, testing and do repairwork at the request of the systemWe do no work that we are not approved to do on the system.As for billing, we collect the funds for billing on behalf of the water system and deposit directlyinto their bank account
We have an emergency phone number, which goes directly to a live operatorThey take theinformation and report it directly to a manager in the officeThe manager then returns the call todetermine whether we should send a tech outWe are then sent an e-mail which also gives us thecaller name, phone number and issueWe do not have any e-mail reports or calls on any of ourcell phones from or to this customerThe customer called our office and talked to the staff, whoinformed her of the situationThe customer came into the office on the December 2nd to pay partof their water bill and was informed of the current situation
The situation is this: On November 17th we experienced a huge windstorm, on Whidbey Island,which caused widespread outages and blew over the electrical pole at *** ***Our technicianwas on site first thing the next day and notified the office and we immediately called the contactin *** ***, Ms***She told us they would call Puget Power and notify themPugetPower came out and said they could not reconnect the power until the pole was reinstalledTheelectrician, that the community called, said they could do nothing until the power was restored.The contact informed us they would take care of the situationWe continually called thecommunity to find out what was going on and if there was anything we could do to helpWe alsomaintained e-mail contact with Ms*** (see attached correspondence)The pole wasinstalled on December 3rd, the electrician came in on the 4•", and connected them to temporarypower, and at this time they are filling the reservoirAs soon as we heard the tank was refillingwe sent our technician out to check the chlorine pump and chlorinate the reservoirWe alsopassed around a precautionary notice to have everyone boil water until we can get investigativebacteria tests performed on the system to ensure it is safe
The one thing the customer must understand is they are a partial owner of this water system andnot just a residentThe residents were trying to fix the issue themselves to save money, sincesome people had failed to pay their water bills and they are short on fundsOur company wasnever "MIA" as the customer stated, we constantly ca ll ed the contact at *** ***, kept the StateDepartment of Health informed of what was going on, gave advice and tried to he lp in any waywe couldAs I stated we can only do what the community asks us to do.The customer also stated that they think all the residents should receive a creditThe customerneeds to talk to the community they live in, and their neighbors, for the cred it since the fundsbelong to them to pay for the repairs that had to be done to get them back into power and water
