We are very sorry for what happened to the ***'s tileIt is a beautiful shower and the stain must be very disappointingHowever I must stress that drywall materials do not stainIn the past there have been a few occurrences of accidental spills on tile and our materials clean up easilyIf
drywall materials did produce stains then we would not be able to use our showers to clean ourselves after workMy employees get our materials in their hair, clothing, arms, hands etcand it washes off easily with warm or cold water.I consulted my own tile setting expert and his opinion is that it is water trapped under the panI sent him a picture of the stain and he immediately diagnosed the problem easily because he has repaired this before and seen it many timesIn the beginning the customer claimed to have not run the water so I went to meet with the customerThe customer then admitted to running the shower once to test the plumbingThis is what King's Drywall believes caused the stainWater trapped at pan can cause a stain much like the one the ***s are experiencing according to my tile expertThe fact that the stain appeared after our employee left is a coincidence not proof of responsibilityAnother factor is that there was no light in the bathroomOur employee had to use drop lights or wire nut the bath lights as the switches were not installedPerhaps it was there and went unnoticed until lights were turned on to inspect our drywall workAlso our employee washed and mixed outside and only had a pan of mud and texture while in the bathroomAs I said above, these materials wash easilyThe customer used a bleach solution to attempt cleaning the tile as recommended by their tile setterMy tile setter claims this was bad adviceThere are pumice materials with a cover wrap that can draw out stains caused by trapped waterPossibly the ***s tile setter is not aware of this methodIt is our opinion that the problem is water trapped under pan or an oil based product stain from aboveWe do not use any oil based products.In conclusion Kings Drywall has an unhappy customer and we are very sorryWhen I met with the customer to address the tile situation they commented that they were very happy with the drywall workErik even took care of some patches that were not in the original scope for no extra charge because it would not affect his time allotted for the projectWe will forgive the cost of this job and hope that it goes toward their tile repairWhen the tile is repaired and the customer discovers it is not our responsibility we do not expect reimbursement
