Kingdom Kids Preschool and Play Center Reviews (1)

12/06/Dear Revdex.com; I recently received a complaint (ID # ***) in regards to A *** ***. I thank you for contacting me, and I am happy to provide our account of the evening with her young sonThe customer brought her year-old son to the center around 7pm that
evening. She informed staff that she nurses her son to sleep each evening and that he would likely not sleep for them. Before she left, she also placed food in a bag outside the center because she did not want to have to come back in and upset him. She left him some olives and crackers. Her son had also been to our drop off center that morning and the previous afternoon/ early evening as well. In a hour period, her son was with us times. That is a pretty long time for such a little guyHer son did well the first half of his time with us. He was acting fine and did well, with a few fusses here and there, but generally was doing really well. As the night went on and the kids were settling in to rest, her son became very tired. Just like she reported to us, he would not likely sleep because he nurses. He was offered snacks and his sippy cup many times, but he did not want it. The staff worked hard to cuddle and snuggle her son to sleep as he was so tired, but he fussed. At about 8:10pm, her son switched from a fuss to a cry. After his temperature was taken (there was no fever-temp was 97.5), our staff contacted mom by phone at 8:23pm. She was called numerous times, but her voice messages were full and no one could leave a message. Since there was no emergency, illness or fever, we decided to continue calling her until she was reached. There was no father to call as this was a single mom. Emergency contacts are not to be called unless of illness or true emergency. This was a case of a young child who was having a hard time falling asleepMom did call at 9:03. I am sure she saw the numerous missed calls. Staff explained to her he had been crying a lot, although was doing better now. Staff had even gotten him to sleep by roc*** him. We had an additional staff member come in to the center to help her around 8:45pm, as there were other kiddos at the center who needed their attention as wellMom arrived to the center at 9:26pm. He was asleep, but did awake when he heard her voice. There was tension with her and the staff. She expected staff to call the emergency list contacts to pick up her son, but he did not have an emergency. He just wanted his mama. This would not be unusual behavior for a year-old at such a late time in the evening. The staff was irritated by the fact that mom did not call back sooner and that her voicemail was full. She went to her car and sat there for a while. Staff was nervous to be around herOne staff member was nervous about going to her own car in the par*** lot because she did not want to talk with her. One staff member thought she saw her nursing her son in her car before she left the par*** lot. I tried calling mom prior to her even calling me the following day around 3:30pm just to check in with her. Staff said she was very irritated with them. I really think she was most irritated with having to leave the play and disrupt her plans. When I tried calling that Sunday, her voicemail was full, just like what my staff had experienced the evening before, so no message could be leftI then received a few e-mails in the days after. Her accusations have been all over the place. In one e-mail I have with her, she claims we told her son he had a fever. In this complaint, it states his temperature was not taken. She was so all over the place, I contacted the police department and state licensing about what our rights were because I even got a pretty harassing voice message from her. I have copies of all messages and correspondence with her if you need those. You will be able to see all the discrepancies in her e-mailsIt was at this point I wrote a strong letter back to her telling her she may no longer contact us. She was being quite harsh and completely unjustified and tal*** poorly about our staff and our school. Every one of her claims were false. I told her I would no longer communicate with her and that I felt she was bullying us and that I was not sure what her agenda was, but I would not stand for it any longer. I would only communicate with licensing and the police departmentI have this firm e-mail as well for you to review if neededWe are so thankful we have video monitoring in all our rooms with video and audio of the entire evening, including the numerous calls to the mother. The police department told me I could file a civil complaint if her harassment continued. I felt and continue to feel at this point, I will not be in contact with her. I will only be going through third partiesHer son has been with us before and does well in the day. He struggles in the evening because of him still nursing. This was not the first evening she was asked to pick up her son for cryingState licensing was called, and they came and reviewed all the videos of the evening. They said our staff did a wonderful job with her son and we handled everything just fine. We even went above and beyond. I was so glad another source confirmed what we had already reviewed and knew about our staffAs to her desired settlement: No, our state license is not going to be revoked. The state already investigated and said we were great! I would never have my staff write a letter for something they did not do. If anyone is due a letter, it is an apology to us for her assumptions and her poor behavior to our staff. She was quite mean to them. And as for firing our staff members, they did nothing wrong. Both girls are education majors who have a love and desire to make a difference in this world. Both girls were so shaken about the accusations. They were so grateful for the video monitoring system that is in place to protect staff members and children, just for situations like thisThis entire situation is so sad to me. I really feel bad for her because she is a single mom who likely just needed some time away to be a grown-up. She just really needs to not mastories. I think she did not like the way staff talked with her at pick-up, and so she has a vengeance against the girls and really twisted things around. We provide such a great service to this community and have an excellent reputation! Sincerely, *** *** (Owner-***dom Kids Preschool and Play Center, Inc.)
