Kingman Honda

My name is [redacted] the service manager at [redacted] Honda. I'm writing you today in response to the letter I received from you recently. The ID#[redacted] is in reference to [redacted]'s complaint or and concern. To my knowledge our company has addressed Mr. [redacted]'s concern every time he has...

brought the vehicle in. Also in every instance Mr. [redacted] has changed his complaint of the vehicle. His 1st visit to the dealership after the sale work order#[redacted] read as the following "Customer states the drivers side front starts shaking at 55 mph and seems to pull both ways, could be roads?". We ver ified a vibration at hwy speeds but no pulling was present. A pull usually only will pull one way, So most likely the customer was experiencing the crown of the road. Due to the vehicles aftermarket wheels we were having a difficult time finding the true balance for this set of wheels and tires. We opted to send the vehicle up to our local tire shop ([redacted]) to ensure the wheels were balanced correctly .We did at our expense due to MR. [redacted]'s extended warranty, Just like everyone else's extended warranty in the country does not pay for tire balances.Or for that fact, Most extended warranties do not pay for tires, brake pads, brake rotors, alignments ,any adjustments, belts, hoses, spark plugs, fluids, filters, pretty much any maintenance, bumpers, body panels, interior trim, carpet, seat fabric, bulbs and a few other odds and ends. Extended warranties are designed to cover engines, transmissions, power window motors, door lock actuators, air condoning compressors, power steering pumps, steering gears, water pumps, fuel pumps and things of those nature. It also depends on the type of coverage you purchase. Some are powertrain only coverage. So anyways after the vehicle returned from the tire shop I personally test drove the vehicle to make sure the concern was no longer present. Upon test driving the vehicle 98% of the vibration was gone and I felt the ride was acceptable considering the vehicle has large aftermarket wheels and tires. The customer was called and told to come get the vehicle it was ready to go.The customer picked the truck up and returned a little while later complaining the problem is worse and still there. I told him that's impossible because had just driven the truc k. After questioning Mr. [redacted] I learned that he is now complaining of a vibration when braking heavy off the hwy. This is a completely different concern and would require a different repair in which we did not have the proper adapters to perform. So we scheduled an appointment with the local Ford shop and a few days later sent it over for a machining of the front rotors workorder#[redacted]. Once again at our expense this repair was performed. After the vehicle returned from Ford, I test drove it again to verify the repair. The braking was nice and smooth and once again I was satisfied Mr.[redacted]'s concern was no longer present. We called Mr. [redacted] and he came and picked the vehicle up and again returned a short time later yelling that the truck still had the same problem. I then said that is impossible Itest drove it after the repair. I asked him to take me for a ride and show me what the vehicle was doing, He agreed. We pulled out of the dealership and Mr.[redacted] accelerated to the intersection and red light letting go of his steering wheel and slamming on the brakes. The vehicle stopped straight with out an issue. Ithen informed Mr. [redacted] this is not the correct way to operate the vehicle that is not how the manufacture intended the consumer to operate the vehicle. He insisted he try again on a different road and he did with out any issue. Finally he came upon a crowned road and the vehicle pulled right toward the curb when braking and letting go of the wheel. I explained to Mr. [redacted] that most the roads are crowned around town to control water run off during rainy weather but that its also not recommended to operate the vehicle in that manner. Mr. [redacted] agreed, apologized and said it must be just the road and in his mind. He dropped me off at the dealership and it was my understanding that he was happy with the vehicle .At this point he has had 3 different complaints and we addressed all 3. Now he has another concern that we are not even aware of? I'm not sure what I can do at this point to make Mr. [redacted] happy. The truck is a used 10 year old truck that is in fairly good shape. He did purchase a ex tended warranty but will not cover replacement tires or even wheels . If Mr. [redacted] would like to return the vehicle back to the original stock size wheel s and tires I would be more then happy to research and find a set I could sell to Mr. [redacted] at employee pricing to help him out. Please let me k now if 1 can work on that for you.

I have bought and paid off 8 vehicles in the past 7 years. I decided to try out Honda for our car. We bought a 2014 Ford Fusion and realized it didn't have the main key for it so we were stuck driving a max of 80 mph. That is unsafe on the highway trying to get passed a vehicle that is going to fast behind you. The key would have cost them $150 to fix. Instead they felt like it was our problem. I'm pregnant and can't afford to throw money out for there mistakes. I will not recommend nor ever work with Kingman Honda again!
