King's Auto Sales Reviews (2)

Review: I bought a used 2003 Toyota Tacoma Truck with no warranty from Kings Auto Sales on July 25 2013. The day after I bought it I had the right front blinker fall out of place. On the light cover there appears to be glue or epoxy that held it in place either as a quick fix or done as a sneaky way of getting it "OK'd" to be sold. A week ago I took it to a mechanic to look at my brakes because they were grinding bad. He informed me that my rotors were worn beyond repair, it was metal on metal. That I needed new rotors, new calipers, and new brake pads. I paid him $65 for that inspection and he quoted me $857 for the total repair.

Since I couldn't afford the repair he suggested that I contact Kings Auto sales and have them pay for the repairs. He also informed me it was against the law for a used car dealership to sell a vehicle with less than 50% of the brakes remaining.

I called Kings, explained to them the situation, the costs, and what was needed. They agreed to do the maintenance on the brakes since they had a mechanic that could do the work cheaper. They also agreed to fix my blinker as well. I bought the parts since I wanted piece of mind that I would have new parts installed not refurbished ones. By all means they should have saw this, paid for & repaired this vehicle before they put it for sale.

Saturday I had to have my vehicle along with the parts I bought towed to their location via AAA from my home in Vernalis. It couldn't even transition into higher gears or go faster than 50mph since the rotor was so bad on the right side. Kings Auto Sales asked to keep my truck overnight to make sure all the repairs could be done. I agreed and I got a call on Sunday at 11am to come pick up my vehicle.

When I got there my truck was in the parking lot, blinker still taped in place, not fixed. I went inside to ask them about the repairs and what had got done. They told me that they had replaced the rotors and the brake pads but their mechanic had said the calipers were still good. They told me to get my money back for the calipers. They also said that the mechanic ran out of time to fix my blinker so they wrote me a check for $100. Which I accepted but have not cashed until I see about resolving this further.

They've given me excuse after excuse about their mechanic(s), told me different prices, and what work should be done. I have called and asked to speak with [redacted] the manager I bought my car through but he is conveniently avoiding my calls and not returning them as of yet. They need to compensate me for things that should have been taken care of before they sold it. I'm stuck with the vehicle now, that's fine, but they need to run a more honest business or someone should take away their license. You can't take advantage of customers the way they do, or do half [redacted] work when you say you'll get something fixed.

I paid $195 for 2 new rotors, 2 new calipers, and 4 new brake pads. I paid $65 for the brake inspection. Since it was founded by my mechanic that the vehicle was sold to me with less than 50% brakes then I would like for them to cover the cost of the parts, inspection, plus the cost to have their work re-inspected by my mechanic, and have the new calipers installed.Desired Settlement: Since they lied and said my vehicle was ready and I paid for gas to drive up to Sacramento I'd like them to cover that as well, $41. I don't want these guys touching my vehicle again, I'll take it to my mechanic and send them the bill. That would be a fitting resolution to this matter for me.

If they would like to resolve this under my terms fine. If not I will be seeing what legal action I may take against these crooked car salesmen.

Review: I purchased a 2003 Cadillac CTS on 04/24/13 and just 2 weeks after owning the vehicle, it broke down. The car co. took it into their shop for 2 weeks, while I was without car, causing me to lose my job in the process, and then returned the vehicle to me still damaged. I then received a rental car,a 2000 Ford Taurus, for a whole month while they were trying to fix it, and then the rental car, ford taurus, brown down, so they gave me back my vehicle and said, there's nothing we can do to fix it, so I had to surrender my car back adn lost $5,500., my down payment.Desired Settlement: I would like my $5,500.00 back or I will be taking them to small claims court and I will win my case.
