We had six windows replaced at our home Everything came out great! We would highly recommend them! I was curious in how the windows are put in because I have never seen them done before and Troy was more than willing to explain the entire process to me while he was installing them Everyone was very personable and a pleasure to do business with Will contact again when we have more to replace!

Of all the roofing/siding/window installers and repairmen we have felt with in 25 years in the area, Kingsford is BY FAR the best we have had business with. They have built a deck, sunroom, and replaced my roof and did an excellent job on each. If I Han a question or comment, they were prompt to answer it, or fix it without a word of protest, charge, or negative comment. The sales person misrepresented the product. We were told that they were not merely replacement windows, they were like new construction windows.The question that was asked and answered by the sales person was, "will the windows be like new construction windows, meaning, will the windows be taken down to the frames or will they be replacement windows, therefore losing an inch or so of glass". The sales person replied adamantly that they are NOT replacement windows, they are like new construction windows so we would not lose any visibility as would happen with the competitors' standard replacement windows. He explained that this was one of the things that set Kingsford apart from their competitors. We believed the sales person and did not request further clarification when we signed the contract. We paid over $3K more than the next highest quote we received because of the fact that we wanted new construction type of windows so that we would not lose visibility, as our house is an older darker home. We wanted to keep as much natural light coming into the home as possible. When the installers came out we saw that the windows were not as the sales person described. They were not new construction type of windows, they were basic replacement windows. We called Kingsford immediately and were put through to the sales person. He denied having said that. I was not able to get in touch with the owner that day but he called me back the Monday after installation. Because I'd met him earlier, I felt like he would be fair and offer some sort of compensation for the clear misrepresentation. When he and I spoke he refused to do anything. He reiterated that it was not in the contract so he was not responsible for his sales person's misrepresentation of the key facts. His only "compensation" was trying to get more work with us. He said he would give us a good deal on future work. I told him that I was not about to enter into another agreement with a company that does not stand behind the facts that were presented to their customers by the company's representative. The order date was June 20, 2014.Desired SettlementI am seeking compensation to offset the premium that I paid for the Kingsford Windows. I paid a $3,000 premium for the windows based on facts that were presented by the Kingsford Sales Person. Kingsford contracted to install replacement windows not any other type of window, the homeowner did visit our design center and reviewed the windows we have on display for sell and decided to purchase those this is the only kind that we have available here to purchase.Our goal is to have all our customers as happy as possible, we understand that when a consumer receives multiple estimates from companies on the same project, things can sometimes run together or get confused with vendors,. That is why all agreements are written on a sales contract for our customers to review and okay prior to signing with us. There is no way any party could mislead any other party when you take the time to put it on paper review it and sign it. All good business practices were followed and no unethical practices were made. This way it ensures both parties are in agreement on the work to be completed, the materials to use and the sale price of the project. The customer did do a contract review before they signed the order, and then signed it. The window that was purchased from Kingsford was the correct application needed for the home. Although we did nothing wrong nor misled the consumer on the product they received, In good faith they were offered via a phone conversation earlier on after completion of the install, a discount on the next project they were looking to complete, We will not be refunding an amount of 3,000.00 on a contract that we completed and fulfilled as stated for the amount that was agreed upon. Kingsford would be willing to do additional work in good faith at a discounted rate.Consumer Response /[redacted]/We did not question Kingsford's contract. The issue is the sales practices. Their representative provided us the incorrect information. As we discussed, there was no confusion at all that it was Kingsford that told us this. The information that his salesman provided us about the windows being "like new construction" was the single reason that we decided to go with Kingsford Windows and they are very aware of that, my husband and I made the decision on the spot because we were thrilled that Kingsford's windows were different from the others. We have no other projects and after seeing their lack of business ethics, and the fact that they are not willing to do anything at all to correct their misinformation on the project that we hired them for, we would certainly not utilize them in the future. I would feel that this is acceptable if they provided us half the difference between their price and the next highest price. We are very disappointed that Kingsford utilizes the "bait and switch" tactic. They told us one thing when they were at our house and then did not verbally correct it in their office and had the details buried in the multi-page contract that was summarized for me by the sales person to help me get through it quicker. No, I did not catch it in the details of the contract, however, the fact remains that this is an improper disreputable sales practice.
