We got our female tri color cavalier puppy from Kingston Cavaliers 10 years ago. We love our dog so much! She continues to bring us joy every day. She’s been healthy except for some mild skin allergy issues, and she’s only in the past two years developed a heart murmur, but has not needed medication yet and has no symptoms. She’s s great gal and is very special to us!

I would just like to say that for 20 years I wanted a Cavalier and my husband and I was treated badly from breeders all over the US. after months of looking [redacted] the owner of Kingston Cavaliers. Call us back . she was very professional. A little over a year ago we got 2 cavaliers from her. She welcomed us into her home. She loves her dogs and all of them are part of her family. She never over breeds her dogs. After a few llitters she will retire that dog and will fine a good home for it. She is not a puppy mill and anyone that knows her and been to her home knows this. Her dogs live in her home. they don't live in cages or out in a barn. In the past year I have talk to her on phone and has been very good at answering any question I would have about my 2 girls I got from her. She has even had me back to her home to visit with my girls and welcomed us with open arms. I hope one day to even get one of her retired dogs. I would be more then happen to talk with anyone about the experience I have had with Kingston Cavaliers. before I got my girls we never saw one bad thing wrote about Kingston Cavaliers. But in the last few days I have seen things. If these people really know her and been to her home they wouldn't be saying these things. I want to thank [redacted] for the 2 wonderful puppys that fill my heart with love every day and the 9 hour drive in a ice storm to get them was worth it. I will deal with her anytime.

[redacted] kept $500 of our deposit money even though we did NOT sign a contract. She chose not provide health information of the puppies parents and grandparents when we requested the health history.
She sent us an email (after she had our $500 deposit)in reply to my request for health information in which [redacted] said , "I don't think this is working out" I replied saying , "I agree...please return my deposit". She replied saying she would not refund the money. She sold the same puppy 1 week later to another buyer.
Several emails we're sent back and forth. I would state reasons why we were entitled to a refund (NC law states in order for contract to be enforceable, it must be signed. She didn't even send a contract until 2 days after we asked for the refund. She replied to our emails with insults and set up her email account so that she would not receive further emails from me.

We feel [redacted] is a wonderful breeder. We purchased our pet cav in 2014 and he is one of the loves of our lives. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. His disposition is very calm and laid back. [redacted] is very professional and every pet she releases for adoption is ready to be welcomed into a new home with her blessing. A pleasure doing business with her.

Shipped us a female instead of male puppy. Made us return the puppy but breeder does not want to give even a partial refund of shipping costs we paid.My husband and I purchased a male blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from [redacted] of Kingston Cavaliers. Purchase price $1,500, plus an additional $350 for airline shipping. The puppy was shipped to us via [redacted] on March 9, 2015. On March 11, 2015, we honored the contract's 4 day required vet exam and was informed by our vet that our puppy was a female and not a male. We contacted the breeder while still at the vet. Breeder was unaware she had shipped us the wrong puppy. We asked if we could keep the female puppy as we were attached to her after 2 days of caring for her. Breeder refused to allow us to keep her as she had plans to breed the female. Breeder promised my husband verbally that she would compensate us for her mistake. The next day, March 12, 2015, I drove 4 1/2 hours round trip to meet breeder's husband in Wytheville, Virginia and exchange the puppies. Breeder's husband gave me $40 cash for gasoline. Actually, $28 went for gasoline as I had to pay $12 in tolls. In addition to being sent the wrong puppy, I was pressured to purchase [redacted] vitamin supplements. I declined on signing up for the vitamins as I found [redacted] Labs to be a pyramid scheme company and the vitamins are expensive because of the commission's given to the breeders. Informing the breeder as to why I did not want these particular vitamins led the breeder to became defensive and pushy. Breeder puts [redacted] vitamins in the sales contract and you get a second year warranty only if you buy the vitamins. Also, the male puppy arrived with an umbilical hernia and breeder has promised verbally to pay for the repair, however, she neglected to put this in the contract. After the [redacted] discussion, breeder sent me several emails and made comments on my [redacted] page which have been rude, accusatory and very unprofessional. We paid $350 to ship the wrong puppy and feel we should be reimbursed $200 of the shipping costs. Breeder was not in agreement and was again very crude and accusatory toward me when I requested a $200 refund. We feel a $200 refund on the airfare is a fair request. It in no way covers all the emotional stress we have incurred which has been made even worse by breeders very poor, unprofessional attitude. All email documents and a copy of our contract can be provided upon request.Desired SettlementWe paid a $350 airline shipping fee and are requesting a partial refund of $200 due to being shipped the wrong puppy. In addition, per breeders verbal promise, we request up to $75 for hernia repair costs at time the puppy is neutered at approximately 5 1/2 months of age.Business Response When owning a business there will always be a time that you come across a person that no matter what you do they can not be satisified. This is that person. Here is the truth as to what actually happened. This person placed a deposit with me in Oct 2014 for a "pet quality" male puppy. The puppy was born on 12/23/14. Numerous times she asked if he had "flaws" or was "show quality". I thought this odd since she had paid for a pet quality puppy. The puppy was sheduled to be shipped on 03/05/15. The adopter informed me two days prior that she would not be able to receive the puppy on that date so it was changed it to 03/09/15 to accomodate her.I consider myself a very organized person. My puppies are kept in certain designated crates during the crate training period. One of my employees inadvertantly placed the adopter's puppy in the wrong crate. At that time I had 3 other puppies that were the exact same age and looked almost exactly alike. Because of this the wrong puppy was flown to the adopter. Since I was not aware of the mixup I did not notice I had shipped the wrong puppy. Two days later I got a call from the adopter's husband stating that they were at the vet's office and their puppy was a female. I was devastated to say the least. I explained what had happened, apologized numerous times and offered to reimburse them for the vet bill and send them the correct puppy. The adopter said there was no charge for the vet bill and informed me I could only exchange the puppy the very next day which was Thursday 3/12/15. Because of my mistake I offered to deliver the puppy to her home. It was a 12+ hour round trip. She offered to drive ONE hour not the 4 1/2 hours she is claiming. I asked her was she sure and she said yes that it would not be a problem to drive the ONE hour. Since she would not allow us to do this on Saturday, my husband took a day off work the following day and drovc over 10+ hours round trip to deliver this puppy. He offered her $40 for her gas to drive the ONE hour, even though she never asked for reimbursement I thought it was the right thing to do. I bent over backwards to apologize and make this right the very next day after finding out my mistake. From that day on this adopter has harrassed and insulted me. It got so bad on [redacted] that I had to block her and eventually I had to do the same thing with my email account. She never one timed asked for reimbursement for the shipping fee until the last insulting email she sent. I do not feel she is entitled to a refund as the correct puppy was delivered to her the very next day. I do not ship or deliver puppies for free. Again she offered to drive the ONE hour and did not have to.For some reason this adopter is unwilling to forgive my mistake. I feel this complaint to Revdex.com is in retailation of me blocking her from both my [redacted] and email account. Why else would she wait almost 4 weeks to file a complaint? (Just two weeks ago she reccommended me to a friend of hers.) My reputation as an ethical breeder stands for itself. I have never had this happen before and hopefully it will never happen again. I have ALWAYS had an A+ rating with Revdex.com. I made a mistake, corrected it the following day and that should have been the end of it.Since she is still not satisfied as a last ditch effort to make her happy, I am willing to give her a FULL refund for the puppy plus vet fees and shipping fees if she will return the puppy to me. I am not sure it is in the best interest of the puppy to remain with her at this point.Consumer Response There are numerous fallacies in business owners response.First, the $500 deposit was made on December 5, 2014 not October, which does not matter except to show another fact that is not accurate. Also, the fact that she sent the wrong puppy and didn't know it until 2 days later when WE contacted her puts in question her being organized. It even makes me question her attentiveness to her puppies. Especially when she ships off her prized female that was being kept for breeding and doesn't notice? Breeder and my husband originally discussed shipping for Friday, February 27, 2015 as puppy would be the required 9 weeks old and have his second set of shots. HOWEVER, when I contacted the breeder the beginning of that week, she said she would not be shipping the puppy on that date as he needed to be 10 weeks old if he was flying and we had to wait until March 5th. Unfortunately....and out of everyone's control...... Winter Storm Thor hit our state and because of this horrific storm no flights were coming into Charleston, WV on March 5th so the flight had to be rescheduled to March 9th. This was not to accommodate us. It was because flights were canceled. For interest reasons only, I did inquire about "flaws" and then quickly told breeder that was a poor choice of words. I am not a breeder or expert on any breed but my husband and were curious about our puppy. I remember asking twice via email because she did not respond to my first inquiry. She did not always respond to emails sent to her during the time before the dog was shipped. But I understood that she was busy. Business owner well knows my excitement and that I retracted the use of the word "flaws". I was interested in everything about our soon to be family member as I am quite sure most adopters are. What are the puppies qualities....good and bad? What is their personality like? Weight? Temperament? These don't seem to be unusual questions to me.Upon contacting the breeder about the mistake, (which she had yet to notice two days later), business owner told my husband that she would "compensate" us for what happened. We were at the vet, so he could not carry on a long conversation as the vet was waiting on him to see if we were going to get to keep the girl puppy before she proceeded with an examination. We truly expected to hear from breeder within a week or so offering us some sort of "compensation" as she promised. I met the breeders husband at Wytheville, Virginia. I live in Charleston, WV. That is 2 hours and 9 minutes one way per [redacted]. With tolls and traffic it was 4 1/2 hours round trip. I tried to post the link to [redacted] which shows the exact time and route, but this program will not allow the link to post. Go to [redacted] and get directions from Charleston, WV to Wytheville, Virginia and you will see my facts are 100% accurate. Why business owner keeps insisting I only drove an hour makes no sense. She was told via telephone on several calls while arranging to meet that I was driving a little over 2 hours ONE way. Business owner sends her husband to meet meet me. He offered me gas money which I initially refused and told him that my husband was going to talk to his wife (business owner) and settle up on the whole matter. He insisted on paying for gas and gave me $40. I paid $12 for tolls as I had to take a toll road, therefore, $28 went for gas most likely not covering gas expense of driving 4 1/2 hours. If business owner had taken the time to do her research (or even remember what she was told), she would very well know it was a 4 1/2 hour trip. Business owner offered to drive to West Virginia, but it was going to be several more days. I offered to make the trip for a few reasons. First, I did not want to keep a puppy several more days that I was already attached to and not permitted to keep. Second, I did not want to continue with training and housebreaking a puppy I could not keep. Third, I wanted our dog since breeder said us keeping the girl was not an option. Last, I was trying to be helpful to the breeder! To be very clear on the delivery of puppies as the business owner contends she does not deliver puppies. Business owner was NOT agreeing to deliver a puppy for the sake of delivering a puppy. She was wanting her girl puppy back! The reason she would not let us keep the girl was she was keeping this particular female for herself planning to make lots of money on her as this puppy was the last to be sired by her prized male dog, [redacted], as he is being retired. Her tears and upset now appear to more because she shipped off her money making girl instead of a male puppy she had no use for. I never once harassed or insulted the breeder. I was always polite and factual. She was the aggressor and completely unprofessional. I never left one negative post on her [redacted] page. Instead, she came to my [redacted] page and started leaving comments on a post I had made about dog food. Business/breeder's name was never mentioned negative on any post, but for some reason she took a post I made about dog food and made it personal. Upon getting my real puppy, I did not even mention what happened on my [redacted] page. Except my family and very close friends, nobody knew what happened. I made a post with a few new pictures of my REAL puppy under a post about it being a pretty day just to I could discreetly post a few pictures of him! After breeder became so perverse, defiant, deleted and blocked me from [redacted], I did make a post on [redacted] about my real puppy. But this was after I was deleted and blocked. Curiously, a few days ago I received a [redacted] friend request from business owner/breeders daughter, [redacted], who had also chosen to "follow" me. I did not accept this request and was very puzzled as to why she would send it to me. I immediately declined the request and blocked her daughter.I was contacted by a friend of my sister, [redacted], asking where she could get a puppy like mine. I told her where my puppy was purchased and as a courtesy to breeder did not tell [redacted] about the puppy mix up. At this point, I am still assuming that breeder is going to do as she stated on the phone call the day at the vet and offer to "compensate" us so I saw no reason to tell [redacted] anything negative. If I was abusive as the business owner/breeder contends, I would have taken that opportunity to try to hurt her business....not keep quiet. The situation became contentious when breeder sent me and email asking why I had not ordered her [redacted] vitamins. I was not going to even tell breeder my findings on these vitamins and was just going to ignore ordering them, however, she inquired so I explained what I found online about [redacted] Labs being a pyramid scheme company and I would not be ordering $55 vitamins as other top quality vitamins can be purchased at fraction of that cost. Via research, I learned the code number given to me by the breeder is linked to her and she is notified within 48 hours if an adopter does not order timely. Adopters are not told there is any link with the breeder and the [redacted] code number. Further, I provided breeder with links supporting the important fact that when you feed a dog high quality food there is a risk of over supplementing them with additional vitamins causing more harm than good. Calcium, Vitamins A and D can be harmful at too high levels. I provided breeder with links to[redacted] and [redacted]. She refused to read the links. Instead she insulted my choice to feed my dogs [redacted], said that I would buy an expensive vehicle, nice home and nice clothes but wouldn't pay for vitamins for my dogs. Completely out of line. Every email I sent to breeder was factual without being rude or combative. Her responses were incredibly accusatory and unprofessional. Her last sentence in her response to this complaint further illustrates her combative nature. Offering a full refund if we return the puppy and quote " I am not sure it is in the best interest of the puppy to remain with her at this point." My husband and I are outstanding pet owners and anyone can attest to the superior care, love and attention we give our dogs. And anyone knows that no amount of refund offer will make a true dog lover return their puppy. This is a CONTRIVED OUT for the breeder because breeder knows nobody who loves their dog will give it up for any amount of financial compensation. I do not feel it was unfair of us to request a "partial" return of the airfare we paid. Breeders transport of the correct puppy was because she wanted her girl dog back. We are in love with our pup that we have now had almost 4 weeks and I can assure anyone who wants to investigate that he is in a wonderful home. Contact our vet! They will tell you the level of care, love and attention we give our babies. All email exchanges can be provided. Final Business Response This is a perfect example of what I have had to endure from this purchaser. Extremely long messages attacking my character. This is why I had to block her from both [redacted] and my email account. I feel this purchaser is trying to "punish me" for blocking her and for making a mistake. She was sent numerous photos of her male puppy prior to his arrival. She spent two full dayswith this female puppy never realizing it was the wrong puppy. (She only had 2 dogs) Yet she can't fathom how I didn't realize I sent the wrong puppy when I have multiple dogs and puppies in my care plus employees helping me.When I was speaking with her husband I was not sure where how far away she was so I thought the female puppy would need to be flown back to me and I would have to fly the male puppy to her. This is where she misunderstood that I said that I would pay for these flights. I NEVER offered to pay for the original shipping flight fee. Once I realized she was not too far away I made arrangements the very next day for my husband to take off of work and correct this mistake. Also, she gave us no other option but to come the following day. It was over a 10 hour trip to bring the correct male puppy and pick up the female puppy. She offered to drive one hour and I reimbursed her $40.00. I have purchased many things from the Internet and had them shipped to me. Occasionally, I've been sent the wrong item. In each case, I was told to return the incorrect item and then they shipped me the correct item. I have NEVER been reimbursed for the original shipping fee. That is part of the original purchase price. The seller does pay the shipping to send the replacement item, which is exactly what I did. If this purchaser had driven to my home to pick up the replacement puppy that would warrant a refund but she did not. We picked up the female puppy and delivered the male puppy to her. Therefore I do not feel she is justified in receiving any refund for the original shipping fee. Again, I feel she is only doing this in retaliation of me blocking her. Why else would she have waited all this time and never once asked for a refund.
