My wife and I were relocating across the country for a long distance move We moved many times before and knew what to look for in a mover The first thing that impressed us was the caring voice on the other end of the phone and the fact that our sales rep actually cared Liz took the time to listen to our concerns and offer us the best solution
The pick up experience went great The crew picked up everything on the scheduled date and wrapped everything as promised We even tipped them for their great work
The truck arrived in Toronto quite quickly and we were happy to get access to our shipment But to our disappointment the house that we purchased didn't close on time We were stranded and needed last minute storage Kingsway was wonderful in accommodating our last minute plans and changed the entire scheduled delivery Those few days of storage was such a relief and we were able to re-unite with our goods within a few weeks
Many thanks to Liz personally as she was wonderful and all the other staff that made this happen This was one of the best moving experiences that we had I would not hesitate to recommend Kingsway Van Lines in the future

[redacted] From the beginning we had nothing but problems with them. They changed our pickup date without notifying us and when we advised them that wouldn't be possible due to our lease termination they sent a subcontractor. The movers were supposed to show up at 11am. They showed up 16 hours late at 3 a.m., woke up the entire apartment building by yelling in the staircase and did not leave till after 6 a.m. They also showed up with a truck that was ¾ full from a previous move and told us that if all our items did not fit in the truck it wasn't their problem. We asked them for an approximate weight calculation and they said 4500 lbs. All our items and boxes were pre-weighed and we knew we had an approximate of 2500 lbs. Liz promised us that all items were scaled after being unloaded off the truck. We were quite surprised to receive an invoice stating that our shipment weighed 4800 lbs. We disputed it and were guaranteed that our items would be rescaled upon delivery with us present. Two weeks later we received an email saying our items were reweighed and the weight was 2600 lbs and they were "sorry" the scale was "defective." This happened after several emails and phone calls going nowhere. Liz promised me that my [redacted] road bike valued at $1950 USD would be packaged and wrapped in the warehouse as I complained the movers simply through it into the truck like a sack of potatoes. The bike was never wrapped nor packaged. Upon delivery we were presented with extra charges for storage on the invoice. It took 3 months to get a refund. We never received a proper invoice. Several boxes were crushed. My bike frame was scratched. Dishes and serving ware were broken even if they were well bubble wrapped. Furniture was scratched even if it was wrapped in cellophane. Several boxes containing rollerblades, ice skates, shoes and books are missing. After several attempts of contacting them and going in circles we have simply given up dealing with them. They are unprofessional, rude and try to twist everything and blame the client. I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. When we moved our stuff out of storage in Moncton and to our apartment in Montreal we rented a [redacted], carefully loaded it and drove it the 1000km. It cost us $600 less than with Kingsway and was completely stress free. [redacted]

I recently moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario and used this company. Firstly they gave a collection time between 12.00 and 5.00 pm, they arrived just after 5.00. Despite being told that they would need a smaller size van to collect our furniture as we had a fairly long uphill driveway coming off a small dirt road. They arrived with a 52 ft truck. So we were charge an additional $200 for this as they said they had to walk too large a distance. We were told the shipping date would be between the 1st - 3rd of the month but were never given an delivery date. Our goods arrived nearly 2 weeks after collection. The person we dealt with at the company was quite rude on the many occasions we found we had to call. She did inform us that there is no such thing as customer service nowadays. For a company representative to state such as thing should give you a clue as to how they operate. Finally the cost for the privilage of using this company was nearly twice the estimated cost. It would have been better to provide a more realistic estimate instead of a price that would appear to be quite reasonable. There is no thought for the customer and whether they have that extra amount. Most people when give an estimate would probably keep a 20% extra amount to cover but nearly 100% is totally unreasonable. [redacted]

I had a great experience with this company. The crew arrived on time as scheduled on August 29, 2015. Mark and his crew were great, Sam was also very efficient. They worked hard and were in and out within hours.

When my stuff arrived to Toronto, ON (which was about 8-9 days later) I found out that my house fell through. The sellers had financial problems and we had to move on. We couldn't wait longer. Kingsway had offered storage although delivery was previously scheduled. No issues.

We finally took possession of our new home this month, October 2, 2015 and we accepted our delivery on October 3rd, 2015. Great service and happy to report that they do deliveries/pick ups on weekends (so much more convenient). Great service from the delivery crew. Hank was great and the crew was not complaining at all climbing those 3 steep flights of stairs. I asked them to lay blankets at the entrance which they did. We tipped the guys cause we had so much fun with them. They even helped my husband set up our bed.

Very few minor issues, nothing that is even worth a claim or a complaint. The office staff was great to deal with, and both David and Liz were fantastic.

I hired Kingsway Van Lines for move from Edmonton to Vancouver in September 2014. I researched a bunch of options, online, and emailed with their seemingly competent rep Liz, many times before commiting to the company.

I was promised a 6 day delivery time and quoted about $1400 for a small move. 6 days after they picked up my goods, no phone call. So I called the office, no answer. I left a voicemail. And so this went for a few days. I finally get someone on the line and ask where my things are. They don't know. They'll call dispatch. 3 days later... they still don't know. Fast forward to 2 weeks after my stuff has left Edmonton. I call, they've found the truck. Can they deliver it? No. It's not in Vancouver yet. Ugh.

They do have a quote for me tho! And it's about 3900lbs. So should be about $4000. WHAT?? So I question the bill. No one can give me an answer as to why. "It's by weight of your goods" they say. I tell them repeatedly, there is no way that my stuff weighs more than 2000 lbs. The price should not exceed around $1500.

More days go by....So they weight it again. Oh whoops, its actually 3600 lbs. Riiiight... Knowing it is not anywhere close to that weight, I advise them I will find a way to weigh the goods myself, if need be, it's wrong.

They finally offer to have me go to a warehouse, where my things are now located. And they are not going to deliver until I pay the bill. I watch some workers put a crate, holding my goods, on a scale. It comes out to around 2000 lbs. MAGICAL!! When they're being watched, my items lose half their weight?? I must learn how that happens!! The bill was then corrected the proper weight.

Geez. Long story but a ton learned in the process. I finally got my things delivered. My coffee table was smashed in half, many boxes were crushed. Anything with movers wrap on it had half the wrap pulled off and ripped. Many items have sizable dings, scratches and dents. I actually had someone elses bed slats and curtain rod mixed in with my stuff as well. The delivery guys would not give me a copy of the contract. I called the office a few times and no one returned my call. I asked for the manager's manager, who was never in office and never returned my calls either.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. They are outright liars and scammers. So long as they get your money, they don't care what happened to your things or how long it takes for you to get them. HORRIBLE experience and I tell everyone I know to never use them.
