Review: I park my SUV at this garage on a monthly basis, customer no. [redacted] On Mar. **, the SUV was dropped off at the garage. When my wife went to use it thereafter, she saw a dent on right rear top side. The [redacted] apparently filled out an internal report, which he would not share with us, and shortly thereafter, the garage's insurer, Sedgwick Claims Mgt. Sers., summarily denied our claim ([redacted]) without explanation. The garage is clearly liable as evidenced by the Mar. ** claims ticket we were issued-- photos of which we have. On the back of the ticket, the garage attendant indicated where dents and dings were purportedly located on the SUV at the time of its check-in. Notably, there is no indication that the dent in question was present on the SUV at that time. Hence, the dent occurred, after Mar. **, while the SUV was under the garage's care and the garage should accept liability for that damage.When my wife raised this matter with the [redacted], he commented that he could see rust on the dent. I presume this may be an excuse the insurer is now relying on to deny my claim. If there was any rust present, it was at most trace-- as evidenced by contemporaneous photos we have. Moreover, the presence of rust proves nothing. Rust can form in a matter hours under the right conditions and we typically don't use the SUV for days at a time. Given how rough our winter was, it should come as no surprise that early signs of rusting would be observed shortly after the accident occurred. Regardless, the presence of rust cannot negate what the Mar. ** claims ticket clearly reflects: the relevant dent wasn't there when we checked the car in. Hence, it occurred while the SUV was under the garage's care and the garage should accept responsibility for it.I have written the insurer seeking reconsideration of my claim but haven't heard anything back as of yet.Desired Settlement: I'd like the insurer to reimburse me for the cost of repairing the dent.
