We are sorry that it came to this We were dealing with one of our Contractors on this projectAt some point the customer became unsatisfied with that Contractor's ability to perform as they desired We did not have a contract with this customer We had completed our contracted work with the contractor To save cost the contractor did many tasks himself, such as rehang doors after painting, etc, This effected the hardware being correctly re-installed Seeing they needed help, we did return a couple times to resolve each issue at no charge I know that they called and we weren't able to get back to them My wife had a heart attack and a month or later had open heart bypass surgery with with a long recoveryIt has been hard to get back to some things Part of the problem arose when on a few occasions we did have an opening the timing didn't work for the customer We did receive a certified letter from them and immediately called to schedule a visit There was a misunderstanding after our worker was turned away one time, the customer believed that they were rescheduled for one week later and we did not get that communication from our worker The work was completed on Wednesday 9/24/ It involved adjusting and replacing screws that were strippedWe put a screw in a threshold and replaced a piece of weatherstrip All of this involved repairing work we did not performOnly the one piece of weatherstrip that was cut a little short was our responsibility I do believe the customer is satisfied at this time

Hi this is regarding complaint # [redacted] which it appears the Revdex.com is closing since the business wrote its response and my input was not requested or solicitedMr [redacted] stated that we were satisfied which is not correctHe first called us after the initial Revdex.com complaint was filed and insolently insisted we remove the Revdex.com postingHe stated everything was not his responsibility and he had no contract with us- despite him taking payment from us directly and his wife signing the Release and waiver with our last check to themAfter [redacted] tried to bully my wife on the telephone he sent over several workers to look at the issuesThey did try to fix several of the items regarding the doors we had purchased from them and had paid them to installThe gentlemen that were at the house ( Not Mr [redacted] ) were polite and very professional; they stated the individual who hung the doors is no longer with the companyThey adjusted the doors and got some of the issues resolved- they put the self-closing hinges on the correct (garage door) and adjusted some doors which were not latching- they also re-attached the hinges that had rattled loose over the first months of using the houseSeveral of the doors still have large gaps around them which the [redacted] representative at the house stated were not installed square and flush and that the only way to change the gaps around the door would be to tear out the wall and reset the door frames ( which [redacted] Woodworking was paid to install initially)Additionally the space around the door and frame on several doors is not symmetrical!!! Since work was not done properly I believe we should receive a refund

I am rejecting this response because: despite Mr [redacted] begrudgingly sending out a very polite and professional technician to repair the doors that were literally falling off the hinges and correcting a building code violation involving the doors, [redacted] Woodworking was paid in full to install the newly pre-hung doors (from another company he is affiliated with Capital Door and Molding) in the rough framing of our new custom homeMany of the new doors were incorrectly installed by [redacted] Woodworking and him replying that 'they have done all that they can do to remedy the situation' does not equate with quality workmanship [redacted] should have installed the door frames correctly when they performed the job initially rather than seeking to shirk the responsibility for their poor workmanship on othersThe Revdex.com should ensure that potential future clients/customers of [redacted] Woodworking ( and Capital Door and Molding) be forewarned that their workmanship is at times sub-standard

We believed that we had adjusted everything to satisfactionThe wife seemed happyUnfortunately the nature of Kerfed Door Jambs is that they are less stable than post Sheetrock Jamb installationThere is also little adjusting of this type of jambThe doors were also handled by the contractor and other tradesFinding the wrong type of hardware and screws is evidence of thatWe have done everything we can do under a warranty

We were dealing with one of our Contractors on this project. At some point the customer became unsatisfied with that Contractor's ability to perform as they desired.
We did not have a contract with this customer.
We had completed our contracted work with...

the contractor.
To save cost the contractor did many tasks himself, such as rehang doors after painting, etc,
This effected the hardware being correctly re-installed.
Seeing they needed help, we did return a couple times to resolve each issue at no charge.
I know that they called and we weren't able to get back to them.
My wife had a heart attack and a month or 2 later had open heart bypass surgery with with a long recovery. It has been hard to get back to some things.
Part of the problem arose when on a few occasions we did have an opening the timing didn't work for the customer.
We did receive a certified letter from them and immediately called to schedule a visit.
There was a misunderstanding after our worker was turned away one time, the customer believed that they were rescheduled for one week later and we did not get that communication from our worker.
The work was completed on Wednesday 9/24/14.
It involved adjusting and replacing screws that were stripped. We put a screw in a threshold and replaced a piece of weatherstrip.
All of this involved repairing work we did not perform. Only the one piece of weatherstrip that was cut a little short was our responsibility.
I do believe the customer is satisfied at this time.

I am rejecting this response because: despite Mr. [redacted] begrudgingly sending out a very polite and professional technician to repair the doors that were literally falling off the hinges and correcting a building code violation involving the doors, [redacted] Woodworking was paid in full to install the newly pre-hung doors (from another company he is affiliated with Capital Door and Molding) in the rough framing of our new custom home. Many of the new doors were incorrectly installed by [redacted] Woodworking and him replying that 'they have done all that they can do to remedy the situation' does not equate with quality workmanship. [redacted] should have installed the door frames correctly when they performed the job initially rather than seeking to shirk the responsibility for their poor workmanship on others. The Revdex.com should ensure that potential future clients/customers of [redacted] Woodworking ( and Capital Door and Molding) be forewarned that their workmanship is at times sub-standard.

Hi this is regarding complaint # [redacted] which it appears the Revdex.com is closing since the business wrote its response and my input was not requested or solicited. Mr. [redacted] stated that we were satisfied which is not correct. He first called us after the initial Revdex.com complaint was filed and insolently insisted we remove the Revdex.com posting. He stated everything was not his responsibility and he had no contract with us- despite him taking payment from us directly and his wife signing the Release and waiver with our last check to them. After [redacted] tried to bully my wife on the telephone he sent over several workers to look at the issues. They did try to fix several of the items regarding the doors we had purchased from them and had paid them to install. The gentlemen that were at the house ( Not Mr. [redacted] ) were polite and very professional; they stated the individual who hung the doors is no longer with the company.... They adjusted the doors and got some of the issues resolved- they put the self-closing hinges on the correct (garage door) and adjusted some doors which were not latching- they also re-attached the hinges that had rattled loose over the first 6 months of using the house. Several of the doors still have large gaps around them which the [redacted] representative at the house stated were not installed square and flush and that the only way to change the gaps around the door would be to tear out the wall and reset the door frames ( which [redacted] Woodworking was paid to install initially). Additionally the space around the door and frame on several doors is not symmetrical!!!
Since work was not done properly I believe we should receive a refund.

Review: [redacted] & Capital Door & molding were the suppler and installers of the doors for our major home remodel last year. Several of the doors leading to the outside are hanging crooked, not latching and not sitting flush enough to seal(day light is visible around the closed door). The self closing hinges meant for the door leading to the garage have been mounted on an interior door. Regarding the interior doors, at least 5 of the doors have lost the screws and are falling off the hinges. Several of the doors are hanging crooked with intact hinges and are not closing properly. The bypass sliding closet door have hardware that has been scratching the paint and door since first installation- I brought this to Mr. [redacted]'s attention back in Jan 2014 several times and was told someone would come out and repair it but despite several telephone calls they never came out to make it right. New closet Pocket door is starting to rub after minimal use after only 9 month. The door from the garage to outside difficult to engage deadbolt and missing screws. One can only imagine how long the remainder of their work will last! They have been fully paid(over $29,000) and we have signed release and waivers from both. On Aug 27 , 2014 we wrote Mr & Mrs [redacted] a certified letter detailing the repair/warantee work we expected as detailed above- a [redacted] service technician called on 9/3/2014, stating he wanted to come out that very day- this was not possible due to our work- my wife offered to be avail. the following WED(9/10), the technician stated he would call her. WED(9/10), my wife took time off work, no one came- she called the tech. he stated she must talk to Mr. [redacted]. My wife called the number the tech. provided and left messages- she never heard back from Mr. [redacted]. This type of poor workmanship followed up with lack of response to basic warranty work should be unacceptable for a reputable company.Desired Settlement: All the doors need to be repaired or replaced such that they would be level, function effortlessly and properly, flush with the frame and sealing on all sides and bottom (exterior doors).I don't think we are asking too much that the doors be made right in a timely fashion before further damage occurs.
