Review: On August 19, 2014 Kirby Representative Don D[redacted] presented himself as a door to door salesman to provide an in home demonstration of the Kirby Sweeper. He advised that his assistant Jessica D[redacted] would be left at my home to demonstrate the Kirby. After an hour, Mr. D[redacted] came and wrote up the contract which was to include: 2 lifetime warranties, with free service always with exception of belts, bulbs and bags, and free rug scrubbing 4 times a year for as long as I or my daughter owned the Kirby Sweeper. On October 17, 2014 I initiated a call to Kirby Consumer Affairs regarding the service which I was contracted to receive, as I attempted several times to contact Don D[redacted] to come to scrub my rugs, and finally on Oct. 25, 2014 Mr. D[redacted] came to perform the rug scrubbing and he advised that he has been short staffed as Jessica D[redacted] quit the company a few days after I got my Kirby. Kirby Consumer Relations explained that Kirby DOES NOT give lifetime warranties, nor does Kirby perform in home Rug Scrubbing 4 times a year. I made a payment in full out to Kirby/Don D[redacted] in the amount of $1700 on Aug. 19, 2014. Also the bags for the Kirby were very overrated and the cost was extremely expensive and had to be replaced every 3 -4 days. I found a canister that could be emptied every time which was manufactured by Keeler Company which is adaptable to the Kirby System for and additional $89.00. Many phone calls were made to Don D[redacted] but only to receive excuses after excuses why he could not preform what was contracted for and then he launched threats against me personally which were false. I am filing this Complaint on May 11, 2015 against Kirby and their representative for scamming me and I am also filing a Complaint with the Mt Pleasant Police Department.Desired Settlement: I would prefer to have the Sentria II Kirby System picked up and to have my $1700 refunded immediately. I hope no one else is scammed by this company representative again.

Review: On September 24, 2014 a door-to-door salesman by the first name of "[redacted]" visited my residence while I was at work. [redacted] works for Kirby of Washington (Vacuum cleaner Co). My wife permitted [redacted] in my home for a sales pitch. After discovering that her credit was no good, [redacted] asked my wife about running credit in my name. [redacted] did not call me or notify me about this. My identity and credit was then used in my name--without my knowledge or permission to purchase a $2300 vacuum cleaner at 22% interest using Preferred Credit, Inc. My name was then forged on the sales agreement. I have contacted Preferred Credit, whom state there is nothing they are willing to do as they are just the creditor and not the merchant. I have tried to contact both Kirby of Washington and the main Kirby customer help number. However, I am yest to receive a response.Desired Settlement: Since it is not my name on the contract nor was I aware of this, the contract is void. I feel unethical and illegal sales tactics are being used. To my knowledge you are not even allowed to run a hard credit check in someone's name without their consent. So, how did I enter a contract for over $3000 (interest included) without so much as even a verbal? I expect [redacted] and Kirby of Washington to accept this vacuum in return and pay off the creditor in full.

Review: I had a home demonstration of a kirby vacuum, and did purchase it. That night I had second thoughts so I mailed in the copy of the notice of cancellation the very next day, I did not send it certified mail because it wasn't stated it was necessary, I did however post on facebook and took pictures of the transaction, I know this is little but all I have as proof. I was nervous waiting to hear back from them so I called, and was transferred several times until finally I got in touch with the owner, Don Dolan I think his name was, who simply stated he had just received my cancellation in todays mail, Coincidence? What are the chances!? I would like him to show the envelope because I am sure it would have the date stamped on the front the day it was mailed. He was very condescending, and kept calling me hun, He said I was out of luck because he had already paid everyone involved. People need to be more careful, I am sure I am not the only one that has been ripped off by this company, the contract says to send in the cancellation but then he told me I should have called! The contract is very misleading and they have no intention of honoring the cancellation agreement. I will never buy or recommend anyone to ever deal with the kirby company again. I am contacting the kirby company and my credit card company to let them know the way this was handled.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the cancellation honored, I did send the notice in within 24 hours of the purchase. I have date stamped pictures, and facebook post.
