Kiro's Auto Repair & Electric Reviews (%countItem)

I called kiro's auto repair & electric because my car was randomly turning off on me. I specifically told them what issue my car was having and they said they are experts on what they do so I decided to take them my car. When I got to kiro's I told them I need to find out exactly what the problem is because I can't be wasting money on parts that aren't damage. They said they do that for a living and that they will for sure find the problem. Couple days pass and I don't hear from them so I called and they said they haven't figured it out. I called back in two days and they said it was my computer (ecu) was damaged and I said okay how much is it to repair and he said he's looking into it. I called him back another 2 days later and he said he needs to rebuild my computer and it will cost 600 just for the computer plus labor so I said 600 plus labor is too much I'll just take it off myself and have it fix for 200 dollars. When I took the computer to get fix they told me nothing was wrong and they charged me 50 dollars to inspect the computer. So now I'm thinking so what really is wrong with my car. I asked around at work for a good electrician and my friend knew a trustworthy electrician. He comes to my house and inspects the car and tells me it's the ignition control module (icm) it goes inside the distributor and that ranges from 8-120 dollars depending on what name brand you want.I bought the whole distributor and the car is working perfectly fine.I went for a refund of 120 dollars at kiros and him and his son were yelling at me. They said they should've charged me more money because the car was there for a while trying to figure out the problem. I told them so you charged me 120 for something that was not broken and he accused me of fixing the computer and now I'm trying to get a refund with him. In my point of view they are crooks and were going to replace the icm Inside the distributor and tell me they fixed the most expensive electric part (computer) so they can make more money off me.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I would like to get a refund from them for 120 dollars because they told me they would find out the problem and they didn't. They made me waste time and more money. And if thats not possible I would like for people to be aware on how they really work and they are not trustworthy. I would like for people to know to avoid these crooks. Thanks

Kiro's Auto Repair & Electric Response • Mar 18, 2020

The customer picked up the car a month ago, and comes back a month later to tell us that the diagnosis is wrong. What I believe is this is a lie to get money out of us. We do not play games here at ***'s Auto Repair & Electric where we specialize in foreign and domestic cars. For you to come back a whole month later and tell us our diagnosis is wrong is preposterous, out of understanding, and unrealistic. There is no way possible for you to take a whole month to find out it is not a computer to come back and ask us for our diagnosis charge, which is never a refundable charge for any business not just our business, and then you just admitted to trying to fix the car by yourself, and then took it to someone else just so they can tell you to replace an ICM module which is also attached to your distributor as an assembly. The amount of time that was spent diagnosing the car covers diagnoses cost. We do honest work here at ***'s Auto Repair & Electric and our professionals can handle anything that comes at us. Thank you - *** (President)

When I called *** I told him nobody wanted to work on my car because it didn't have the check engine light on. *** said he can solve the problem. After picking up the car from them because 600 dollars + labor sounds like a straight rip off for a new 200 dollar part that's a plug and play and unbolts in less than 3 min I had to take time and find a legit electrician. . It took me some time and when I found the good electrician to work on my car two weeks has already passed because he has a monday-Saturday job so he came in his spare time which was a Sunday. Now on my off day I went to the junk yard and got a distributor and had it installed. Once the car was running I wanted to give it time before I go to kiros and make sure the car was running fine. After a week and a half passed with the car running good now I knew it was time to go back to kiros and tell them what the problem was. Also I was reading his bad reviews and they had another problem with a lady and they also told her the computer was bad and it didn't fix the problem I believe. These guys just try to say it's the computer so you can spend more money and make them more money.
