Kiser Auto Sales, Inc. Reviews (3)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined the answer is unacceptable but have received the title. I did not want to use the vehicle 2 months for free I offered to pay half of the .28 cents a mile total. Paying the whole amount was absolutely absurd considering I had to go 25 miles to the dealership and 25 miles home each time I needed to pick up tags (twice). The dealership handled the situation very unprofessional and should not have sold the vehicle without making sure the title was clear/in their name. I spoke to several dealerships during this time that bought vehicles from auctions and was told each time the title was supposed to be transferred in the dealerships name BEFORE it was sold. I feel what Kiser's Auto Sales did was against the law. I also did not call the dealership every day I gave them ample time between each call and every time I received the same response and was told it should be done by the next week. They never bothered to call me before the first set of temporary tags ran out or any set for that matter to let me know I needed a new set. If those tags would have expired each time it would have been illegal for me to have driven the vehicle. I was told how very  sorry they were each time I called since they never bothered to call me and the fact that they told me it wasn't their fault the title had problems is crazy. It is absolutely Kiser's Auto Sales fault there was a problem. It wasn't the dealerships fault the title was signed in the wrong place but yes it was 100% the fault of the dealership the vehicle was sold without having these issues resolved and caused me trouble. Very bad business and this is the second vehicle I have purchased from them but never again and I will be sure to tell everyone who is in the market for a used vehicle to avoid this dealership at all costs. I have received the title to the vehicle and will settle with that of course but I think everyone needs to be aware of their business practices.

Kiser Auto Sales sold a one owner 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 102K miles on November 25, 2013.  We purchased the vehicle from the [redacted] and recieved a VA title from the auction at the time of purchase. The DMV work was turned in around December 10th.  DMV sent the title...

work back because a signature was in the wrong place by the orginial owners of the Jeep.  [redacted] called [redacted] right away to let them know there was a issue they needed to fix on the title.  [redacted] told [redacted] to mail them the title back and they would take care of the problem.  All this took place right before Christmas, which made the process even more lengthy because the Auction is closed Christmas week and New Years week.  We informed the owner that there was a clerical error and we would have to send it back and get it corrected.  Mr. [redacted] was issued another set of thirty day tags for this reason.  [redacted] called [redacted] on or about January 3rd to say they were working with the selling dealer to fix the problem, but the DMV was needing a letter from us to help with this process.  [redacted] was told to fax a letter to the auction, which we did. However once DMV recieved the faxed copy they said a faxed copy was not good enough, so we then Fedexed a letter overnight to the auction to try and move this process thru more quickly.
We were assured by the auction that the problem would be corrected in short order, and we passed that information on to Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] called [redacted] every day checking on his title, and was informed every day that [redacted] was working on the problem with the issuing dealer of the Jeep.  [redacted] did call [redacted] every day asking about the process to ensure the problem was being taken care of as quickly as possible.  I talked with Mr. [redacted] around the end of January and he stated he wanted to return the Jeep at the price he paid.  In cases such as this, Virginia law allows the buyer to return the vehicle if they pay .28 cents per mile for the miles that they used the vehicle.  We told them of this law and would have understood if they decided to go forward with this process.  Mr. [redacted] wanted to use the vehicle for 2 months for free.  We received the title and notified Mr. [redacted] on February 3rd. He picked up the title the next day.  We regret any inconvenience that we caused our customer and expressed that to Mr. [redacted] many times.  Due to circumstances beyond our control it took us 2 months to get them a title.

Review: My wife and I purchased a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Kiser Auto Sales on November 25, 2013. We paid $5,950 cash the day of purchase. [redacted] who handled the sale told us that our registration and title would be mailed to us most likely in the next week, two weeks at the most. Almost a month went by with no registration, title, and temporary tags ready to expire we called to see what the status was. She told us that there was a problem and it should be taken care of by the end of the next week. A day or two before our temporary tags were about to expire we called to see if the title was in so we could switch our primary tags to the Jeep. She said it was ready yet she would have to issue us another set of tags we would have to pick up which put an extra 50 miles on the vehicle to get them and come back. Well another few weeks went by and we called again. Once again she told us there was a problem that it should all be taken care of by the next week. Well we waited and waited called a few more times and each time we called she would tell us there was a problem that she had to fed ex a paper and she should have it back the next day or she would have to call the DMV or whoever they bought the jeep from. Well the second set of tags were ready to expire. Once again we had to call and see if the title and registration was in and what we needed to do. So yet again we had to go get another set of temporary tags. We called again the following week a couple of times and each time she would give us the same story and say it should be taken care of by the end of the following week. It has been over two months and we still haven't received the registration or title. Finally, we decided it would be best to attempt to return the vehicle and take our business elsewhere. We were told we would be able to get the price of the jeep back not including the taxes and title fee etc, and would be charged $.28 a mile for each mile put on the vehicle after taking it home. Basically, the dealership sold us a vehicle without a clear title, and are unable to get it. We called lawyers to see what our options were who told us that we should be able to get the full price we paid for the vehicle taxes and all. We informed the dealership who Orvin Kiser the owner told us we could either take it to court or wait for the title which maybe he may have it next week or maybe it would take a month. They never bothered to tell us there were problems getting the title and never bothered to tell us we needed to come in and get new tags before the expired, each time we had to call, and then make 50 mile out of our way trips to pick up the tags. As far as we have seen it is illegal to sell a vehicle without a clear title which is exactly what they have done. All we wanted was to return the vehicle which is in the same shape as we bought it in and receive our money back.Desired Settlement: We want to return the vehicle and receive a full refund of what we paid the day of purchase.
