Before I address the
claims made by Mr***, I would like to add some perspective by providing you
with some background about me and my company I have had my contractor’s
license since 1988. In my years, I
have always been in good standing and have not had a single complaint
filed against
me or my company. I opened my latest business
venture under the name Kitchen Barn in 2010.
We are a Kitchen and Bath design & remodel Company. I am a dealer for several different
manufactured cabinet companies, one of which is Bellmont Cabinetry, located in
Sumner Washington
This complaint is related
to a manufacturing issue with our manufacturer, Bellmont Cabinetry. Bellmont has a very good track record for
quality; however, no company is perfect and once in a while there may be an
issue with quality We want to make it very
clear up front that we take our reputation and good name very seriously. That being said, both Kitchen Barn and
Bellmont Cabinetry have done everything possible to remedy this situation from the day
it was discoveredI have recounted the events as they occurred below and have also attached a timeline of events to this complaint
Mr*** called my business
inquiring specifically about our Bellmont Cabinetry line. We scheduled an appointment with him at his
home and took measurements. I created
computerized design layouts customized for his home, which used both the
line and line of Bellmont Cabinetry; he approved and then ordered the custom
cabinetry.
Mr*** requested that we
do not perform the installation of these custom cabinets and stated that his
home remodeling contractor had included installation in his bid and therefore,
would perform the installation Since it
is not typical for us not to do our own installations, I made sure that I,
personally, was at Mr***’s home during the delivery of all of Mr***’s
custom cabinetry. This was to ensure that
he received all of the cabinets, trims, etcin good order. Normally the cabinets are delivered to our
shop and we conduct an inspection there.
Since Mr***’s order was in both the Bellmont & lines,
there were two different shipping dates
The cabinetry was
delivered, and with the exception of small corner damage on one bathroom
cabinet, which was on the back and would not be noticed after installation,
everything was good. Mr*** signed off
on our notice for receiving the cabinetry complete and in good condition on that
delivery
The second delivery was
for the cabinetry and as with the delivery, I was there to receive
and inspect the custom cabinets. Upon my
inspection, I began to notice surface scratches on the kitchen cabinetry drawer
and door fronts. I found scratches on a
number of the doors and drawer fronts. Unfortunately,
there were other errors too including, a cabinet made with an incorrect size, four
glass doors that had the incorrect type of glass insert, and the master
bathroom cabinet fronts were not the correct style All of these issues are cosmetic and have
nothing to do with the construction or integrity of the cabinet box itself.
I immediately contacted
our Bellmont Cabinetry Representative to get these errors corrected. Our
Bellmont representative arrived at the job-site within business days to
inspect these cabinets at Mr***’s home.
Within business days, all affected parts were on reorder with Bellmont
Cabinetry
I told Mr*** to have his
contractor install the lower cabinetry and that would allow him to have is
flooring and counter tops remain on schedule with his remodel. I informed him that as soon as we received
the replacements, I would come over immediately to put the new fronts on myself.
Mr*** has requested
monetary compensation as a result of the delay.
I told him that I understood his frustration and mentioned that at the
completion of his project I would like to sit with him and we could discuss the
options, but that any compensation would not be from Bellmont, it would have to come from me, the dealer
We have done everything possible
to keep Mr*** updated and informed about the status of his cabinetry;
however, Mr*** is now claiming he wants us to pick up all of the cabinetry
and process a complete refund. He
contends that we are creating a delay with his remodel. We advised Mr*** that his cabinetry is
custom; ordered for his home, and that Bellmont Cabinetry and Kitchen Barn are
doing exactly what is expected in this situation to correct the problem
Attached is a timeline of
the events detailing all of the activity that has taken place for the *** Job. The timeline will reflect that both Kitchen
Barn and Bellmont Cabinetry have made every effort to resolve this matter in
the most timely and efficient manner possible
Please feel free to
contact me should you require any additional information regarding this matter

Before I address the
claims made by Mr. [redacted], I would like to add some perspective by providing you
with some background about me and my company.  I have had my contractor’s
license since...

1988.  In my 26 years, I
have always been in good standing and have not had a single complaint filed against
me or my company.  I opened my latest business
venture under the name Kitchen Barn in 2010.
We are a Kitchen and Bath design & remodel Company.  I am a dealer for several different

Sumner Washington.
This complaint is related
to a manufacturing issue with our manufacturer, Bellmont Cabinetry.  Bellmont has a very good track record for
quality; however, no company is perfect and once in a while there may be an
issue with quality.  We want to make it very
clear up front that we take our reputation and good name very seriously.  That being said, both Kitchen Barn and

Mr. [redacted] called my business

Within 4 business days, all affected parts were on reorder with Bellmont
