decided they would like a create a Master bedroom in the remaining space in the unfinished upstairsI spent 12 hours designing the kitchen and upstairs area and gathering the cost of all the materials required the do the job.[redacted] and [redacted] reviewed all the drawings with me, and I made changes that they requested. They made a choice on the kitchen cabinetry. Although we carry several cabinet lines, they chose our premier semi-custom line. They indicated that they wanted to go ahead with the kitchen, but discovered that “their furniture would fit” in area that was designed to be their bedroom, so that part of the job was cancelled.[redacted] came in on 9/25/2015 and gave us a deposit of $4400.00 on the cabinetry alone. They were given all the drawings and the floor plan of the new kitchen. We then ordered a door sample for their approval. [redacted] came in on October 3 and signed the Contract for the kitchen remodel.When the sample door was delivered, they came in and said they did not like the finish so we ordered another door sample that was painted the color they chose.Before the second sample arrived, [redacted] called to say that they had to cancel the job because [redacted] had “lost” his job. A subsequent phone call from [redacted] requested a refund of their deposit. She was told that we had incurred expenses on behalf of their job, but that we would send a check for their deposit minus our expense and they would receive it in about a month.The letter written by [redacted] indicates another reason that they cancelled. I am not sure what sure what the REAL reason is, but there is a signed contract.
