Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: In regards to you guys made changes to the plan and the time that you guys put into it [redacted] no longer works for your company and told me he did not receive any money from our contractYou guys had me drive to your location more than six times which is an hour and a half drive each way I also had money and time invested Sounds like this is just another ploy to keep my moneyAs I said I never received a soils report I never had any work done by you guys that wasn't part of the contract to build a house I am sorry to say that I will never recommend your business based on you guys refusing to abide by the contract which says that all monies will be returned Regards, [redacted] ***

We apologize for not responding immediately as this got lost in our spam filter This couple canceled there contract because the wife did not want to move I have attached the voicemail that was left by Mr*** The Moneys that were paid to us were all spent on services that were
rendered on their behalf The soils test and plan modifications far exceeded the moneys that were received by Mr.& Mrs*** We sent them a copy of the soils test which we had received on their property I have attached the soils test again and the voicemail that was left which states the real reason that they are not moving forward and building with Design Tech Homes. I am rejecting this response because: In regards to the soil sample I am pretty sure I would remember a page report which I've never seen I also have documents that show the soil samples being less than $other than that the only work that was done was with *** and discussing options about the home and with the construction manager one time at the property in regards to the $50,quote for the driveway So anytime that that required was on you guys trying to save the dealAs far as my wife and I decided we didn't want to move that had to do with us realizing that the property just got out a hand We were in a rental house in Dripping Springs while waiting to finish building our dream home so after it did not work out with this Design Tech we therefore had to find a new property we decided to move into that was the cost of what we originally quoted on the dream house with *** ***The sole reason we backed out on the deal had to do with the drastic change in price that was changed after we were told to put the deposit down to hold the price of everything We did not have a change of heart we did not get cold feet we were ready to build the house that you guys agreed to build at a price agreed to and contracted on that is why we put the deposit downYou guys changed the amount which therefore changed our heart

I am sorry you don’t remember seeing the report Our documents show that we sent it out As far as a refund we spent considerable time on modifications that you requested to one of our plans The price increase that you are referring to is due to your lot requirements and not the home We will not be providing a refund to your earnest money As I stated in my first response, all of your earnest money was used to provide the services that we rendered until you decided not to move forward In fact we actually spent more time than we charged for Please let me know if we need to send another soils report to you Thanks*** ***

We used Elias for our two bathroom remodel in November and were extremely unhappy for many reasons: he lied, communication was horrible, installers were shady, etc We went into the showroom to pick out cabinets for our bathroom vanities and then Elias came out to see our bathrooms and measure for the vanities After the visit, he sent us email renderings which were not an accurate rendition of our vanities (specifically counter tops were black instead of white & measurements were not true) I should have taken this as a sign but emailed him to ensure that these were not representative of our pieces, he never responded I called him to discuss the issue
I went into the showroom to finalize our order and paid 50% deposit I also confirmed with him our work schedule (which was a quick turn around but he agreed) and he wrote my name on his calendar for the day we decided on My contractor called him to confirm the date/time and Elias told my contractor that he would not be able to deliver the product on that date Elias had no intention of communicating with me the date change so I called him to ask about the cancellation He finally committed to coming on the original date
On the delivery date, his installers arrived hours late with no communication about the delay or apologies They put together the vanities on site and workmanship was poor, they left one unit without a back and the other unit had a full back The installers left without telling us so we could not inspect their work They also forgot to leave the pieces to connect the vanity to the wall and one of the pieces they did leave was in very poor condition
The granite guy was just as bad, he also arrived late and was unprofessional After cutting the tops, he had the audacity to throw multiple granite pieces from other jobs (none of which were the color of our tops) into our dumpster He left and we looked in the dumpster and called Elias immediately You are charged for removal of dumpsters by weight so this was literally costing us money Elias said someone would come out the next morning at to remove the material, they did not arrive until 3:PM Elias came out that morning to look at the work and was not helpful
The worst problem came us when we installed the smaller vanity When our contractor went to install it, he realized that Elias built the cabinet in a way that it would not line up to our plumbing The old vanity had 3/drawers and the plumbing went behind the drawers, the new vanity had full drawers so the plumbing could not fit Elias was the one who came out, did the measurements, and designed the cabinet with me There was NO WAY
I could have known the difference in the drawers, he should have realized this as he is the expert on cabinets Either the cabinet had to be rebuilt or we had to move our plumbing When we called Elias, he did not take responsibility or offer solutions We moved the plumbing and deducted the cost from the remainder of the bill
I wanted to provide details on our experience so other would know that I am not just an angry customer, that Elias caused significant issues and subpar product His communication was unprofessional and he is not solution oriented I would advise using another cabinet maker for your job if you dont want to have to go through a similar experience
