Underneath all of the upper kitchen cabinets there are staples. Which are embarrassing and unsightly to say the least. They will not return my callsI purchased kitchen cabinets from [redacted] owner of Kitchen Encounters the summer before last. He stated to me that the cabinets that I was considering were "middle of the road" quality. Which I took his word for & gave him a deposit to place the order . He then told me it would take from 6 to 8 weeks before they would be ready. It wasn't until the cabinets were delivered (which was unfortunate for me ) that I learned that these cabinets are an in stock "Apartment Grade Quality". At this point the cabinets had been delivered & were in my garage. I called [redacted] to talk to him about this. Upon telling him he talked all around the issue, denied the fact regarding the quality. At one point even implied that I was stupid. Then he proceeded to hand up on me. It was at this point that I should have had them brought back. I was so upset I called try credit card co. & explain the issue with them. Please note: the cost of the cabinets was a little over [redacted] of which I foolishly gave him [redacted] in a check deposit. So the small less than half was all I put on my credit card. Then the credit card co was waiting for me for the final word before they were to go after the payment that they had made. In the meantime the installer told me that from what he could see from just lifting one out of the box that they appeared to look fairly good to him. Mine you he (my installer) did not know that once they were installed that under the top cabinets there would be staples exposed. No one that has come & saw these staples has ever seen this before this includes the installer of the cabinets, my tile installer, & I've even went to other kitchen cabinet stores & at friends houses & none have this.Desired SettlementI would like to have the bottom of my kitchen cabinets repaired /the staples removed/the open seams addressed/ Also under two of the cabinets the trim is stained and on the other four ....they are not. I would like them to all be the same. Business Response I'm a bit surprised by this letter. I believe that these cabinets were sold in the summer of 2013. So, it's surprising that we would get a complaint like this 2 years later. It is a fact that when the cabinets were delivered to the house, she asked me to come to the house and look at the product. When I went to her house, I confirmed that she did get the cabinets that she selected from our showroom display. Additionally, the installer that she hired (not a Kitchen Encounters installer) unboxed the cabinets and we all agreed that they were acceptable quality. She then gave the installer the "go ahead" to install the cabinets. [redacted]Co-OwnerKITCHEN ENCOUNTERS, INC.15 Railroad AveWilbraham, MA 01095Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As I had stated in my complaint against [redacted] I was told by him that the cabinets were middle of the road when in fact they are "apartment Grade" which was DISHONEST.Now, he states he came to my house to confirm that I did get the cabinets that I had selected from their showroom display is an "out right lie"! Again DISHONEST. He NEVER came to my house after the cabinets were delivered. As a matter of fact he only came to my house twice. The first time was to measure and the second time was when I gave him the check ( the deposit ) to then place the order. It's really sad that [redacted] does not know how to tell the truth and could care less once he gets your money. It's my hope that people will find out about his character before they purchase anything from him. I've tried countless times to call him but he would not return my calls. It's not like something new just happened to the cabinets, it's the way they've been since day one. As I sit here now typing this response all I/we have to do is look up at the cabinets and the staples and open seams are there for all to see. It's sad that I had to pay over [redacted] for such trash. And that he won't even attempt to make it right. Very sad!
