Kitchen King Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: I have made an outline of events, so the reader can easily follow.

On Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, [redacted] of Kitchen King came to our home and measured the kitchen and two bathrooms for a renovation/remodel.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, my wife and I traveled to Kitchen King in Toms River. [redacted] gave us some renderings of the kitchen and we took two samples of Kitchen King cabinets and brought them to our home.

On Wednesday, Dec 2, 2015 , I gave [redacted] a courtesy call to advise him that we were going to be using another competitor. [redacted] asked me what kind of cabinets we were planning to use in our kitchen and I replied [redacted] Among other critiques, [redacted] advised me features of [redacted] cabinets were manufactured in China. You stated that based on your experience, [redacted] was an inferior cabinet, compared to American made cabinets that you sold. Based on what [redacted] told me, I cancelled our order with that competitor.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, we went to KK. We looked at several other kitchen cabinets and decided to go with [redacted] Cabinetry. At that time, [redacted] never advised us that they were made in China. [redacted] told us that we had to act fast, due to an upcoming price increase on Dec. 21 and the cabinets had to be ordered by the end of day, on Thursday, Dec. 17.

On Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, [redacted] called me on the phone to see what our plans were in regards to the remodeling. I told him that we were not sure who we were going to contract with. [redacted] stated to me, my wife and I could come down to your store on Saturday, Dec. 19 and we would be able to get the order completed prior to the price increase on the cabinets.

On Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, we traveled to KK to finalize the plans for the remodel. [redacted] filled out a Conditional Sales Agreement that we agreed upon and signed. That agreement included [redacted]. On that day, [redacted] did not disclose to us where the cabinets were made. Based on this lack of knowledge, my wife and I gave KK a $20,000 deposit in good faith.

On Wednesday, Dec 21,2015, I emailed [redacted] and told him my wife and I wanted to cancel the order, because I had discovered by my own inquiry, that the cabinets were made in China. This was after our phone conversation on Dec. 2, when [redacted] told me that Chinese made cabinetry was inferior to American made cabinetry. Feeling betrayed, I investigated further and called [redacted] Cabinetry Corporate Headquarters in Pennsylvania. I wanted to find out if there was truly a price increase in the cabinets, as [redacted] had previously told [redacted] and I. I discovered there was no price increase. I was shocked and alarmed that [redacted] and I had given KK a $20,000.00 deposit, based on the misleading information. Later in that same day, [redacted] contacted me via phone. I told him again, we would be canceling the order and wanted our money returned. At the end of the conversation, he agreed to return our money.

On Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, [redacted] contacted me by phone, asking if he could come to my residence and talk to me. I readily agreed. Much of what was discussed that night, was reiterating what we had talked about over the phone on Dec. 23. [redacted] apologized to me, but did not return any money. [redacted] also stated [redacted], the owner of [redacted] Cabinetry was on vacation and no decision could be made, until he returned on Jan. 4, 2016.

On Monday, Jan. 4 , 2016, I texted [redacted] inquiring whether you talked to [redacted], the owner of [redacted] Cabinetry, about our cabinet order. You texted me back, stating that [redacted] was on vacation until Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, I texted [redacted] inquiring whether you talked to [redacted]. [redacted] texted back stating [redacted] he had not returned your call.

On Thursday, Jan 7, 2016, I texted [redacted] inquiring whether he had talked to [redacted]. You texted me that he was in meetings and [redacted] was unsure if you would be able to talk to him. I texted you back and asked you whether he had all of the $20,000.00 deposit. No reply.

On Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, [redacted] texted me telling me that he had briefly talked to [redacted]. In the same text, [redacted] told me that [redacted] would possibly be able to look into the order that afternoon and see if there was any cost we might have acquired by cancelling the order. I then texted [redacted] back about how much money does [redacted] Cabinetry have of the $20,000.00 deposit. No reply.

On Monday, Jan. 11,2016. Text and e-mail to [redacted]. No reply.

On Tuesday Jan. 12,2016, Text, email and phone call. No reply.Desired Settlement: I would like a return of our money (20,000.00). due to the owner [redacted] of Kitchen king misleading us 2 times, with not disclosing where the Kitchen cabinets were made and misleading us about the price increase.
