Review: I brought my Chevrolet Impala to KJK Service & Repair with a transmission problem. **. [redacted] stated I needed a new transmission. I left my car there and he put a used transmission in and charged me 1676.00. When I picked up the car it still had the same problem. I told him it wasnt fixed and he said it was fine just add transmission fluid. I did as instructed and still had problems. I contacted him several times and he finally looked at my car again and stated there was a problem with the transmission. I left the car with him again and for 3-4 weeks I contacted him about when the car would be ready, he kept giving me a story about how parts where hard to get. I then could not find him for the next month. I called, stopped by his shop and it was locked up. He never returned my messages. I finally spoke with him after he had my car now for 2 months. I told him just to give the car to me and I would have someone else fix it. He stated I owed him for the time he spent working on it. I explained I gave him $1676.00 and it was still broke. He said pay him or he will but a mechanics lien on the car. He still has my car.Desired Settlement: I want my car fixed or my money back to pay a shop to repair the car.

**. [redacted] brought his vehicle, a 2003 Chevrolet Impala (vin# ending in [redacted]), into my shop on March 20,2013 with transmission problems. After checking the vehicle it was determined that that the transmission needed to be replaced. He did not want to spend money on a new transmission. He said he was selling the car. I recommended a remanufactured transmission. **. [redacted] said he wanted a used transmission. Again stated he Was "selling vehicle and did not want to spend too much money. I found a used transmission and installed it. The vehicle was running great and he picked up the vehicle, paid his bill and went on his way.

He returned to my shop on April 18,2013 complaining of gears sticking and not shifting smoothly. We serviced and flush the transmission and changed the filter. The vehicle again was running fine. He paid the bill and left.

The next I heard from **, [redacted] was not until June 24,2013. The transmission was not shifting properly. By this time the limited wan-anty on the used transmission had expired. I talked with used parts dealer and got them to agree to credit back $700 of the original $1100 toward another used transmission. **. [redacted] declined the offer and went out and purchased another used transmission himself. He brought it to me and asked to install for him. After installing I informed him it was no good. It did not have 3rd gear and 1st gear was weak. He came and got the vehicle without paying the bill, and drove it for more than 3 weeks, at which time he brought it back and ask that I put the other used transmission back into the vehicle and he would just sell it as is. I did as he asked and even returned his used transmission and got his money back for him. When he arrived to pick up the vehicle he informed me he would not be paying for the additional worked of installing and reinstalling two different transmissions. The outstanding amount owed is $1104.00. I have told him that I will not release the vehicle until I am paid in full.

Bottom line is a service was provided and the work was completed satisfactorily. The customer was informed the risk in using used parts and against my recommendations insisted on using them anyway, not, once but twice. I have 27.5 hours into this vehicle and need to be paid for my services.
