I hired KJ Natural Stone to put in new granite counter tops and new granite around my fireplace. They could not have been any nicer to me and wanted to please me right from the initial estimate. Definitely get the since of a family owned business from them. I also priced several other granite companies and KJ Natural Stone was very competitively priced. Thank you [redacted] and Team for a job well done! I would definitely recommend this company to others.","pos-9

Everything turned out great. We are very pleased with the whole process from picking out the granite to the installation. The person to see is [redacted].","pos-5

Our kitchen tops were installed yesterday and they look amazing. Would recommend their services to all our friends. We are thinking about getting our bathrooms done and would definitely go with KJ Natural Stone again.","pos-4

I have made two purchases from KJ Natural Stone. the first was a marble top for our 1/2 bath and the second was a granite top for the master bath. Both experiences were excellent. Everything was timely, excellent workmanship, no mess to clean up after the job, workers were polite, and the pricing was very competitive. Our happiness with the first experience resulted in us going back to them for the second job. I would highly recommend KJ Natural Stone to anyone.","pos-6

Non-Receipt of refund of 4500.00 as promised by KJ Natural Stone both verbally and in a company email dated 10/21/2015Vendor was unprofessional, verbally abusive and unable to communicate or following through on the order. We started the process of a kitchen renovation in May of 2015 as of October 2015 they were unable to complete a professional install.A check for 4500.00 was written on August X-XXXXI had numerous meetings with vendor and his extended family/ customer service representatives, documented all conversations and followed up with emails. Met with Vendor to discuss the extended delays, increased product cost changes and tile that was chosen was now 'out of stock' and was promised better customer service. The customer service and communications did not improve, vendor would not call me back to confirm any install dates, to review the project with final estimates on work. I continued to call and email, sent a cancellation request and listed all the issues still pending on October 3rd, did not receive a call back, on October 7th 2015 I called again and was able to speak with the owner Mr.[redacted] Mr.[redacted] was verbally abusive and explosive in his tone, I was shocked and appalled by his attitude and the hostile way he was trying to bully me over the phone. I told him I would not be spoken to that way by any person.I asked for a refund of the 4500.00 deposit Mr.[redacted] said he would mail the check the week of October 12th 2015. I have not received the check, on October 19th 2015 I sent a certified letter, On October 21st, 2015 I received an email from his daughter stating they would send the check that week. To date I have not received my refund of 4500.00 If I had only taken the time to read the ratings of KJ Natural stone on line/ I would have read that poor customer service and abuse language to women, intimidation is their tactic when dealing with customers. During this horrid experience with KJ Natural Stone I have documented every conversation, with detailed copies of all emails, texts and I have a communication folder with all communications producing over 200 pages of data.Desired Settlementrefund of 4500.00 Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] (Manager)Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@gmail.comThe customer provided a down payment on the 4th of August we set for a consultation on the 11th of August on the same date we had set a date to begin for tile installation, she canceled due to being away. We held material for the customer and even ordered sinks that she changed several times. The customer asked us again to go out to the home to provide her with estimates since she changed her mind every time she saw something new she liked. We did not charge the customer any restocking fees for all the material that was ordered. The customer's check has already been sent. Consumer Response No refund has been receivedFinal Consumer Response Hostile, cancelled refund check and now KJ Natural Stone want to deliver a check to my personal residence. I think not.Why would a vendor try to resolve the compliant by going to the clients household. Send the check as stated via certified mail or FedEXFinal Business Response The customer has received payment and the check has been cashed.

Very pleased with friendliness and helpfulness of staff, timely manner of service, and cost or service.","pos-2

Complaint1. Damaged existing water system with removal.2. Charged credit card without authorization.3. Slow in completing job.4. Poor workmanship.Work took place in July 2012. In removing existing sink, KJNS damaged my reverse osmosis water system by breaking the mounting structure. Their plumber, who only worked after 6 PM, could not repair. Mr. [redacted] argued that the water system was damaged before his workmen removed the sink and therefore would not compensate me for the system or the cost of replacing. KJNS did not fully complete the job by installing a soap dispenser as originally agreed in the contract. It took several calls, more than 10, to have Mr. [redacted]'s workmen return to have the dispenser installed. In the meantime, KJNS charged my credit card for the balance which was the remaining 1/2 of the total costs. This costs was not authorized by me since the job was not completed (disagreement over the water system damage and no installation of the soap dispenser). I felt this was unfair as it left me with no leverage regarding job completion and damage. This entire project could have been completed easily within one week. Their incompetence and callous attitude drew the project into a two month operation where I ended out purchasing a new water system and installing myself. While the stone is very attractive, Mr. [redacted] made a judgement to split the stone (in kitchen) directly at the sink. Therefore, in a very visible location, you have basically two completely different stone surfaces. The split could have been made in a different location where it was less visible.Desired SettlementKJNS should pay for the new water system that I installed ($120) Business Response /[redacted]/We have viewed the complaint and we feel as if no customer should go unhappy. It is very unfortunate and unfair to my company that this is coming to light after 2 years of being completed. After speaking to Mr.[redacted] he has requested a total amount of $236 which we will comply to pay instead of the original amount of $120.Consumer Response /[redacted]/There has been no resolution of this case. KJ Natural Stone has made no payment to me regardless of them saying they were going to resolve this by the July 15 deadline. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Business Response /[redacted]/I would like to know how is it fair towards me and my company that Mr.[redacted] after two years comes to light about us paying his water system. I do see this as fair. I would like the Revdex.com to step in and help out with this decision.Thank youAdditional Information From Consumer/Received from the business:I have been notified by my supervisor that they will be sending you a check of $150. Reason being you have taken two years to write this complaint. That to us is not fair. Regards,Actually, I have given you two years to do the right thing on this complaint and you have chosen not to honor your original agreement to me which was to replace the water system that your workers broke. Therefore, since you have chosen this path, I have added additional items including my time and the extension cord (which I mentioned to you while your workers were on the job and got no response). That is reasonable, therefore, I do not accept any amount other than the $236.00 filed in the original complaint.Consumer Response /[redacted]/There has been no resolution of this case. I would like the Revdex.com to step in and help out with this decision.Thank youConsumer Response /[redacted]/While disappointed, I was not surprised that my wife, [redacted], was confronted by two separate employees of KJN who both wanted to argue and negotiate when she went to pick up the $236 check on Friday July 25th. While this was the amount that Mr. [redacted] agreed to on two separate occasions (June 30 and July 24) his staff, as he has done, continued past arguments regarding both the timing and the amount. Both items were explained in detail over the last 6 weeks. Apparently, if Mr. [redacted] does not agree, then his interpretation (and that of his employees) is that it was never mentioned, or at the very least, never understood. When [redacted] explained the situation again, the Raleigh staff after arguing about the timing and amount, said the check was available but only in the Cary office. So [redacted] offered to pick the check up in Cary and called an employee named [redacted] (who [redacted] understood was the bookkeeper). [redacted] also wanted to argue about the timing and amount. When [redacted] offered to drive to Cary and pick up the check, [redacted] said she did not have any checks that day, which is interesting for someone who handles accounting.[redacted] then made a request for them to just be honest. If they had no intentions of paying the amount they had previously agreed to pay, then please just tell us so that we would not waste our time and resources chasing them down.As of today's date (July 29th) I have heard nothing from Mr. [redacted], [redacted] or anyone associated with KJ Natural Stone. This has been a most exasperating experience and fortunately I have never had this kind of situation with another company. Thank you for the opportunity to file this complaint; your staff has been very professional.

My wife and I have used KJ Natural Stone & Remodeling for two projects in the last few years: new kitchen counter tops and a remodel of our master bathroom. We have been happy with all aspects of their service. I particularly appreciate that their work crews always show up on time and are courteous and professional. KJ's staff were always helpful, accommodating, and provided honest feedback when asked. I definitely recommend KJ to anyone looking to complete a small "facelift" project or a complete remodel. The quality of the product received is inferior to what was promised. Unsatisfactory installation of the product. JUNE 6, 2014I ordered and was promised a stainless steel sink, that was to be "better" than what I had. The sink's surface is rough and when stains occur, it's difficult to remove them. The manufacturer's name or product identity is not indicated. The color is stainless steel, but the quality is not. After KJ Natural Stone (KJNS) did the installation of the sink and counter tops, I had backsplash installed by different company. The backsplash was installed according to how the wall cabinets were positioned. That is, the edge on one side of the counter top that KJNS installed should line up with the edge of the cabinet above it. It's poor workmanship. I called KJNS 3 times in May of this year and never got a call back. On the 4th call, I spoke with the owner who assured me he would come to my home to look at the issues. As of this date (June 6, 2014) I have not heard from the owner or a member of his staff.[redacted], Customer[redacted]Clayton, NCXXX-XXX-XXXX[redacted]@aol.com[redacted], OwnerKJ Natural Stone LLC, ProviderRaleigh, NCInstalled: February, 2014Estimate #XXXXX-XXTotal Price: $2,294.26Desired SettlementI'd like a quality stainless steel sink installed, and the counter top installed correctly. I'm aware that some over-lap is required, but there's too much overlap on one side of the counter top. I wasn't able to add this comment above, but I also emailed him on May 19, 2014 and my email was never read.Business Response /[redacted]/After doing our research and talking to the distributor who sold us the sink installed in [redacted] home, we came to find out that the metals used were not up to standard to us and in this case Mrs.[redacted]'s also. We will give Mrs.[redacted] what she purchased,a 16 gauge stainless steel sink and install it on the date of June 28th. Consumer Response /[redacted]/The owner of KJ Natural Stone finally got in touch with me, and on June 11th came to my home. To summarize, he agreed to make the necessary adjustment to the counter top. He also suggested, and I agreed, that I should purchase another stainless steel sink elsewhere, and his plumber would install it. Consumer Response /[redacted]/The quality of the product they installed is not of the same quality I viewed in their showroom.I submitted this complaint once before on June 6, 2014; Case #XXXXXXXX. The company promised to deliver a 16 gauge kitchen sink comparable to what I saw in their showroom - which had no flaws. The sink they installed is grainy and holds stains that must be scrubbed to remove. They brought to me a replacement, but I refused it because the quality was the same. I was promised a sink that would be better than my original sink. My sink and the one in their showroom was evenly finished and had no visible finish defects. Their sinks are manufactured by a company called [redacted] located in Florida. KJ Natural Stone (KJNS) agreed to allow me to purchase a sink from a different company. I shopped around to find the sink I needed that would fit. It took 4 weeks before the sink could be delivered. But, when I contacted KJNS to inform them that I had the sink, they said they would not pay for it. A couple of places I shopped at did not have the dimentions needed The quality of their sink is not what I viewed in their showroom. Their sinks are grainy and difficult to remove stains. Stainless steel should be just that - stainless. After shopping around, (KJNS agreed to this) I purchased an 18 gauge sink which is a lesser grade than a 16 gauge sink. I searched for a 16 gauge sink(which is what they said they installed), but could not find one with the required dimensions and structure. KJNS charged me $290.00 for their defective sink, and the one I purchased cost $509.40, a difference of $219.40. The "shotty" work of the counter top has been resolved somewhat, but there still remains the sink issue. I would like to order the sink I found that meets the standards of a stainless steel kitchen sink. The one I have chosen meets that standard. I would like KJNS to agree to allow me to purchase the above identified sink, install it and refund me for the difference in price which is $219.40.Consumer Response /[redacted]/I'd like to revise what I expect from the company. I'd like KJNS to remove the sink they installed, allow me to purchase the 18 gauge sink and install it, and refund the price of the 18 gauge sink. KJNS installed countertops that only KJNS sinks will fit. Other plumbing companies do not manufacture 16 gauge sinks that will fit in the required space.

KJ Natural Stone refused to Honor existing contract and demanded I sign a new contract in order to begin fabrication of a granite slab.On April 23rd I entered into a contract with KJ Natural Stone to fabricate a granite slab that I had on hold at [redacted] (slab distributor). At this time I put down required deposit of 1,249.01 (50%).May 9th KJ Natural stone templated the job. On May 10th my wife and I went to KJ Natural Stone to plan the template design on the granite slab. We had an install date of May 13th. During the Templating process there was miscommunication as to how we could place the template to what was verbally discussed with the sales rep ([redacted]) previously. The manager ([redacted]) became visibly upset. When we indicated what we would like to do. we were told that we would need to pay more.Upon stating that we were displeased with this news [redacted] (the manager) then became aggravated and stated that because we expressed dissatisfaction and because she can't run the risk of a negative review for her company she insisted that she needed to consult her Lawyer to get a letter for my wife and I to sign that we agree to the template design that KJ suggested. I attempted to de-escalate indicating that I understood we had a choice of the suggested design or pay more. I was then told by the manager that if I wasn't happy with my options that she would refund my deposit and return my slab to [redacted]. I stated that I chose not to pay more and to agree to KJ's suggested design. I also agreed to sign off on that design that moment so we could move forward.[redacted] insisted that she consult her lawyer and get me an official letter to sign.I followed up next day for letter, none available. This brings us to May 12th day before install. I am sent an email with a new contract that both my wife and I must sign. I am first sent a blank one and told I need to fill it in. I questioned that and was then sent another with the dollar amounts. It was sent at 1:57pm and I was told I had 33 minutes on a work day to coordinate getting both my wife and my signatures and get it scanned and returned. I questioned where the lawyer letter was and was told to just sign this new contract. I asked why a new one was needed when I already had a contract and was told they would not honor the original. This was also told to my contractor when he called them to ask if they are still going to be able to install on date promised. After KJ missing the install date and considering I was misled about a lawyer's letter and I feel they intentionally delayed to miss install date, I requested that they refund my deposit, allow me to pick up my sink that they had possession of and that they return my slab to [redacted]. They agreed via email to do all this. I went to KJ on May 14th and got my sink. They presented me a check with "refund for failure to follow the contract" written in the memo field. I indicated that I didn't want to accept the check with this written on it as it could be open to interpretation as to who failed to follow the contract. At this point I was asked to leave. I did so.Monday the 16th, [redacted] was scheduled to pick up my slab of [redacted]. First thing that morning [redacted] called them and cancelled the pickup indicating that she had another customer interested in that slab. This after KJ agreed to return it so I can begin working with another fabricator. I sent another email on the 14th requesting again a "clean" check without verbiage that can be manipulated. On May 17th I got a reply asking me to "direct my emails to Mr. [redacted]" I feel this is again a form of manipulation as I question the validity of who Mr [redacted] is.I feel as a customer I have been treated with an incredible amount of disrespect and have been caused a lot of emotional distress over this transaction. I would like for my deposit to be returned to me and for our business to be over. I have detailed and documented everything via email with them and have their responses. Please advise if you can assist or if you can offer any guidance.Desired Settlementmy desired outcome would be to get a full refund of my 50% deposit and for the contract that they are in breach of to official be null and void.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], ManagerContact Phone: [redacted]Contact Email: [email protected] estimate that the customer signed it clearly states that the customer pays a price per squared foot meaning they don't purchase the full slab only what is needed. The customers are given the option of choosing from the 4 corners where they would like for us to start cutting from and move up from there. In the contract it also clearly states that both home owners are to sign the contract Mrs. [redacted] failed to do so so as the Manager of the business I had to make sure the protocols were followed. I can assure that the customers were explained how is it that the pricing worked since they knew clearly of because they had been shopping for quiet some time. Once the customers were told of their options the wife stormed off crying. She kept on going back and fourth from her car, after this being done 3 times she gathered to where the layout was being done and got in front of the manager's face still trying to get her way and intimidate the manager and Sales Rep, [redacted]. The customers were given the option of KJ providing them with their down payment and I would return the slab to [redacted], another customer came in and was interested in the slab so I wasn't able to return it The husband came in on Saturday the 14th and stormed inside the building he was asked politely to step into our showroom and wait so the check and sink could be returned. He is correct on the company check it was stated on the memo "Refund for failure to follow contract" which is correct, due to the fact that it is a company check I am able to write as we please with the memo. The customer was asked to step out of the building after barging in and trying to intimidate the Manager. The husband was directed to the attorney because we no longer wish to have any communication with the customer that we know is only going to tell the story in way where its convenient for him Consumer Response I got a letter form KJ's attourney stating that my contract was null and void from the beginning because it was not signed my both parties. My complaint with this company stands as its 8 page contract is deceptive in many ways. I had to initial each page where is states "client initials" not plural! and the last page although it has a signiture line that has "client(s) signature it has ONE line for One signature. Also, the Owners Son and sales rep should have known to have it signed by both parties. I signed as head of household.. he signed, I gave them a deposit check and they cashed it. Using this loop hole is manipulative and deceptive. Also, my wife agreed the night of templating to sign the contract that I signed. that offer was refused by the manager as she wanted to get a lawyers letter to accompany it. That letter never came. It was an obvious stall tactic to not meet the installation date.Brings me to the [redacted] granite slab. that was my slab, I chose it at [redacted] and they delivered it to KJ for fabricaion. [redacted] was also scheduled to pick it up so I could work with a different fabricator. KJ's new customer had no right to that stone. the moral thing here was for KJ to release my stone not sell it out from under me! that was intentional and hateful. There is no excuse for that. There is no resolution to this complaint now that the stone return was not completed and I now lost my stone to a customer of KJ's.Final Business Response It was never KJ's intention to delay the install, its never in our best interest to delay an install since it does throw off our schedule. The customer was asked if both Husband and Wife could sign the contract they didn't want to do it till after we cut the material. The slab we received from the distributor gives 60 squared feet and the customer's kitchen was about 45 squared feet the customers wanted me to butcher the slab which I wasn't able to do since they aren't paying for a full slab only per squared foot. A refund was provided to the customer where on the memo it stated "refund for failure to follow contract" the check was cashed which means he agrees to the language provided on the memo. The slab was also returned to [redacted].

[redacted] was very informative as we were not very familiar with the granite product. He was always accessible and responded back to us with answers to question immediately. The work men that arrived to complete the install were very polite and professional. They worked hard to get our counter tops installed quickly as well as cleaned up behind themselves as best as they could. I have already recommended them to my co workers.","pos-10

I purchased granite & installation from KJ Natural Stone for a kitchen and 3 bathrooms in October 2013. The granite was installed on November 2, 2013. I noted a installation problem in the kitchen on the invoice and requested [redacted], the person who quoted the project to inspect the installation. At the time he quoted the project he promised a complete and finished job, and a lifetime warranty on the sealant.I never heard from Mr. [redacted]. Instead I talked to several employees about the problem without resolution. I paid the invoice, but withheld $1,000.00 until the installation issue was addressed. On January 24, 2014 an employee was sent to my home, he could not resolve the issue. I again talked with a supervisor regarding the issue without resolution. The owner of the company, [redacted] finally spoke with me. He was extremely rude and would refused to resolve the installation issue, threatened me with a lawsuit, when I explained I would not pay the balance due until some resolution was agreed to. As a result, I paid $800.00 to the employee on site, but withheld $200.00 to install molding on the underside of the kitchen bar granite.I also had a problem with the granite sealant. Mr. [redacted] stated that "all his granite had a sealant a lifetime warranty". However, after two months my kitchen had stains. The employee cleaned an resealed all granite on January 24, 2014.I would not recommend this company to anyone considering granite installation. They are very difficult to deal with. There is no one with authority to deal with customer service issues and Mr. [redacted] is very antagonistic, so you are on your own.Product_Or_Service: Granite and InstallationAccount_Number: 6620.22Desired SettlementWritten warranty for granite sealent Paid in full statement, as I resolved the problem by withholding enough money to pay for finishing the installation.Business Response /[redacted]/The customer signed a contract estimate that does not state any work to be done to her cabinets, her complain has no relevance to our granite company and her finished product when it comes to the shoe molding complain. We have met every single request and repair the customer has placed in order to satisfy her every need. In fact, we hired a expert cabinet maker to go over the customers house to place the shoe molding underneath her cabinets after she mentioned she will not pay her remaining pending balance. Legal terms were mentioned to the customer after her mention of not willing to pay her pending balance when the job was completely done to her satisfaction. Which in fact, they signed after completion of repairs. Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/KJ Natural Stone responded as requested. They re-sealed the granite and repaired/replaced the cabinet molding. I have not however received any information regarding a warranty on the sealant. The outstanding balance has been paid.

Stone we ordered and waited for came up missing. Forced to select product that we still don't like because we were building and had a schedule.
They left a huge mess behind that we had to pay for. Dust and [redacted] throughout home.
Problems even after closing with this company . Never again with [redacted] the owner will I do business with. Dishonest all the way to the bank.","neg-1

Granite countertops were installed in entire kitchen area.We later added backsplash as well.We have complaint about the fissure on the kitchen island. Our Granite was installed in 2013 and during the installation, the seam that was st sink area appeared to have height difference. The installation team came back and mended the seam so that is not so visible. The workmanship in general seems good and special edge made for beautiful look that we wanted. we noticed a fissure/line on the island before and during install as well as sink area. We were told that it was part of the stone but no real crack/break and it had lifetime warranty and would not crack. We then had the backsplash tiles installed. At time of install the tiles are dusty as grout is wiped to fill as part of rubble finish. We were told to wipe them a few times after the grout dried. One area needs to have the crack sealed. We had made two appointments but no one showed up or called. The last appointment we made in April 2014 for after 2pm and they did not keep that time or arrived when no adult was at home rather than the mutually agreed upon time. Subsequent calls to schedule were made but met with such comments are outside one year and that there would be charge coming out.Desired SettlementWe have been trying to contact the installer to ask them for the following:1) To cure the fissures so that we do not feel the seam. It is quite apparent to eye and to the touch. 2) and finally check the seam behind the sink (as sink was plumbed after granite install) and it is difficult to see if seam is secured. Business Response /[redacted]/KJ Natural Stone LLC. allows the customer to hand pick their slabs so issues like these don't occur. In our contract it states the following "This warranty in no way covers against scratches or staining by human error, or pitting/fissures(natural occurrences) in the material". [redacted] was aware of this when the contract was signed. We also give our customers a copy of the contract so they can keep for their records. Once [redacted] kitchen was installed the owner of the company Mr.[redacted] did a walk through the problems were fixed.Within her one year warranty Mrs. [redacted] set up repairs when the workers showed up at her home no one was home. After the one year warranty was up Mrs. [redacted] called once again to set up another repair at the moment it was explained to her there will be a charge since her one year warranty was up.Consumer Response /[redacted]/The fissure was not visable on the slab when we pick out and layout design as we did choose best piece for the island and upgraded the edges to show off that piece. After walkthrough chaulking of appliances was done and we then agreed to have quote for backsplash. The fissure again was pointed out to Mr. [redacted] and we were told that it was natural to the stone. We feel that the seam needs to be less noticable and smooth to texture of finger tip.I had informed staff of my concerns. The repair staff that arrived did not arrive at scheduled and mutually agreed time and when adult was present.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/Two technicians arrived and chaulked the areas needed to be sealed and buffed the fissure so that it coul not be felt. They applied acetone to clean entire granite surface and sealed it. They also chaulked the cracks in the backsplash area. This is what we had wanted done. They finally did it.

We recently had kitchen granite counter tops installed in our home. Could not be more pleased with the quality of the granite, the superb installation, the helpful and friendly staff at KJ and the wonderful expertise of the installers. [redacted] at KJ was so accommodating with choosing the right granite for our home and the installation was truly beautiful. Would highly recommend this business and we will surely use them again for our bath renovations.","pos-3

[redacted] and his father at KJ Natural Stone went out of their way to accommodate me and my family when we initially went in to get an estimate on a kitchen remodel and look at samples, I was so impressed and felt so comfortable that they winded up remodeling all 4 of my bathroom vanities and will be returning to do the shower and tub in the master. Work was precise, the crew was polite and punctual, there is nothing more you could ask for from a remodeling company.
Thanks guys!","pos-7
