I paid 50% upfront for labor charges, since I provided the bulk of the materials. He demolished the old master bathroom in two days and then left for the remainder of week 1. I kept calling and texting asking he would be back to work, he said he would be there Monday morning of week 2 and would still be able to finish on the original deadline. He didn't come Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday... so we fired him. He said he would return our money and house key, but he never did. I filed a claim against him in small claims court and won. Do not hire KJR Construction.
