Review: K+Karpentry was contracted to do a job and was paid. Company did not do the job and the money was requested back. Owner has stated numerous times via email an phone, that he plans to return the money. In his most recent email on November 5th 2012. "" The money is in my business account, nothing has happened to it." "I requested the payment option to help me out alittle bit to not take a big hit all at once. A payment will be pay pal this Friday. " I copied owner's words from directly from email. What he appears to be saying is that he has the money to pay back in his bank account and is choosing not to as to not lower his bank account balance. A payment was to made that Friday via Pay Pal that date would have been November 9th, 2012 Owner did not make a payment on Friday November 9th 2012 or since that time. Owner has not returned phone calls or emails since. Owner owes $4700.00Desired Settlement: Owner returns $4700.00 in full as promised.

Review: He was contracted to add a screened in addition to s summer cottage, and subsequent windows and new siding. He said he needed $13,:500 for materials which was paid. Then he asked for another $13,500 for labor which was paid. The contract was dated November 25,2013. No work was done until March 2014 which amounted to $1500 worth of. Materials and labor. He continued to demand more money before he would do any more work. The harsh winter delayed installation of the concrete, which I told him it had to have footers to comply with NY state code. He said he had already paid for the concrete and needed another $4864 to get another masonry contractor and he would refund the money he paid when it was returned to him. He was paid the additional money. I told him since May 6, 2014 that the job needed to be completed by June 21. He said all the delays were costing him money. He said I ask him for receipts for the materials he said he purchased and he ignored me. He now said the concrete was scheduled for June 21 and we were on our way from Phoenix AZ. I asked my neighbor to call me when anyone showed up to do work at the property. I then spoke directly to the masonry contractor and he told me that he was instructed to pour a floating slab with no footers. I told him to stop and and re dig the pad location for footers. At this point K+Karpentry had been paid $40,069 total cost for everything he claimed. He showed up at the property and said he could finish the job until he was paid another $2400 plus $1396 for extra charges for the pad and labor. I ended up being charged $2341.44 for the concrete and $1981.93 for equipment rental an materials which was money I had already paid to K+Karpentry. We then told him we would pay the additional charges after he finished the job. He the said he needed an additional $4864 to complete the job paid first. At this point we have paid out $45,174.73 for $1500 worth of materials and labor. He was not only dishonest but also a thief.Desired Settlement: I want all the materials and money paid returned.

This job has been delayed time n time again. We have all the material and were prepaired to complete. With all the changes and delays it had costed the company a little over 5000$ and when that was discussed with the customer they were understanding with the increase of price and all the changes. They offered a payment plan and that was denied by the company. While we were awaiting the conctere pad completion the owners decided to have someone else complete the project and advised us to not continue our work. We have the permit pulled and is still valid while another contractor is completing the work. We have filed a court case against the customer for the extras that accursed due to customer changes. We have filed in the town middlesex and with the county of Yates in the state of new York. We never once said we would not finish or not continue. The custometrbreached the contract when they decided to have another contractor complete the work. The court case goes in front of the judge in 1 month to get a judgement for the money owed. We were working very close to the customer with all the changes and extras when they decided to remove us from the project while under contract. We cannot control their desicion to do this nor can we finish as the customer prefers us to stay away and not finish. Their is a court case pending and the results will be forwarded to the Revdex.com when the desision is made as to how much the customer owes after the facts are presented to the courts.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.First of all I asked the business to substantiate the claim for increases and he could not. I told him I wanted to see the receipts for all materials and Labor in email 6/27/14 that I had paid for. He did not. What contractor buys materials and stores them other than the job site? I them told him to deliver all the materials to the job site that I had paid for by 7/1/14. He never did. I checked the company he said he ordered the windows and door from and they did not have a record of an order placed meeting the size and quantity of windows from his company. In Emails he told me the windows were being installed on 2/6/14, then 2/26/14 then 3/7/14, then 3/11/14, then 3/20/14. How could he install something he never ordered? I asked him on 4 occasions about the footers for the concrete pad that met State code requirements. He ignored me and told the mason to pour a floating pad. I fortunately stopped the mason and asked if this were his house would he use that construction technique without footers? He said no. I told him that the pad had to have footers to meet state code for frost protection being attached to the existing structure. He agreed. He had quoted $4060.00 for the cost of the pad and K+Karpentry was charging me $9200.00. I have paid K=Karpentry $40649.00 which was the full cost of the job plus $8654.00 in his extras. The amount of work that was completed is about $1500.00 of labor and materials. I also paid $2341.44 for the concrete and $1981.93 to the mason for equipment rental and materials, which was to come out of the money already paid to K+Karpentry. Which he did not pay. He demanded $4650.00 be paid before he would complete the work. He was formally notified that he was terminated when he failed to deliver the materials That I Paid for. His building permit has been cancelled and I have had it re issued to complete the work with another contractor. I have emails, cancelled checks and text messages to verify every detail of this. I want $40,649.00 -$1500 $39,149.00 refunded for work and materials not done.

Review: We hired K + Karpentry Kristofer R Frisbee to complete fascia soffit and some siding work on our house. He quoted us $5100.00 he requested 50% down we gave him a check for $2550.00. He never started the job nerve delivered materials we received nothing. This is larceny ! We have been unable to collect anything. We currently have a judgment against him and it is filed in Ontario County NY. We want him arrested for larceny and repaid the $2550.00 he owes us. He has also done this to other people. Please contact us to discussDesired Settlement: To be reimbursed immediately. This has bed going on since Aug 2013.

Review: [redacted] took our money, and then never did the work. He promised to show up many different times. I took days off for him to come and do work, and he just wouldn't show up. After months of nagging him for a return on the money, we finally had to go to the police to get the money back. Luckily we didn't have to take it to court. I just want to make sure no one else has to go through the same ordeal as we did. He thought he was just going to keep it until he realized that we weren't going to sit and watch that happen. He took $1,200 and kept it for months.Desired Settlement: I would love for him to be put out of business. I don't think he should be allowed to go around stealing money from people. From the sounds of it, we were not the only ones scammed. Is there something I can do to stop him from doing this to anyone else?

Spoke to the owner who advises that the business and the consumer had some issues concerning the start of the job. A manlift was needed to do the work and the business could not locate one for some time. Once they did get a manlift the consumer decided it was too late in the season to start the job. Business states the consumer has been great to work with in the past and they have been in contact with the consumer and will be sending out a refund on October 22,2012.

Review: While this contractor was in my house as a sub-contractor doing drywall, I contracted with K+Karpentry LLC to buy and install a wood beam for my new addition. He gave me an estimate of $400.00 to buy and install a wooden beam. I gave him a check for $400.00 on 1/4/13. It is now 1/26/2013 and he has not brought and installed my beam or returned my check for 400.00. I have called him numerous times and he has not returned my calls or contacted me.Desired Settlement: I would like him to return the money he stole from me for the service he did not provide.

Business

Response:

The sub contract was through Rochester Rbc, we were just a sub contractor for the job. [redacted] has not paid k kkarpentry for the work and therefore was paid by the customer. 250 is still owed to k+karpentry. If the customer wishes to be re paid the Rochester Rbc is responsible because of there negligence to pay the sub contractor. We apologize for the inconvience to the customer but Rbc holds the contract on this job.
