If you are considering hiring Chad M***/CTR Restoration or K&L Contracting Services (Kevin Br***) for any project PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW! I met Chad M*** while interviewing and getting quotes from contractors to remodel my BR/BTR condo in AtlantaChad showed me two projects he claimed his company was handlingThere were several workers at the projects and everything appeared to be treated with respect and careI later learned the projects he showed me were not his job sitesAfter we settled on a price to remodel both bathrooms and the kitchen in my condo, Chad told me I had to pay him 1/up front and the other 1/after the job was completedFor the record, this was my first go around working with a contractorWhat I learned through this experience is that it is TOTALLY unreasonable and a huge RED FLAG if a contractor asks for ½ up front10% d*** up front, and half when half the job is complete is more reflective of a standard deal structure with a project of this natureChad assured me I could pay with a credit cardHe came to my house on the 6/24/and when I tried to pay him with a credit card he said he explained his company does not have an account that can take credit cardsI should have realized when he lied to me then that it was not worth continuing, but he insisted his brother-in-law Kevin Br*** with K&L Contractors could take my card if I agreed to pay an extra percent (that was not told to me prior to contract)Instead I gave Chad M***, CTR Restoration a $check, 1/of our agreed upon amount for the redo of my condoHe took my $promised he would be on the job site everyday and there would always be at least four men working beside himThe work began on 6/30/Chad arrived with four men, and they demolished a wall, removed all my kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities, removed the showers, toilets and all sinksFirst of all, no contractor should ever demolish both bathrooms in a two bathroom condo! There is nowhere for the workers to use the restroomFurthermore, no experienced contractor would remove all the kitchen cabinets before the cabinets were ordered and at least in route to the job siteChad and I agreed in our contract that the bathrooms would be finished in one week While Chad was on site the first day, every day following only one man showed up to workMy condo and furnishings quickly became covered in sheetrock dust, spills covered my newly shampooed carpetDuring that first week in July Chad and Kevin said I had to pay them more money on my credit card because everything was costing more than expected, and I had a plumbing issue in the laundry roomThey verbally agreed to only charge me $(the subcontractor later told me it was a $job) and I supplied the parts from Home DepotI did not see Chad again for almost weeks, and he would not answer or return my phone callsAt this point all the cabinets, sinks, showers and toilets were still far from being completed (this is THREE weeks after they began)Finally on 7/21/2015, one of Chad’s subcontractors named Roger reset my toiletsAlso, we discovered that while some of the cabinets arrived during the second week, they were the WRONG CABINETS!! I tried to call Chad but apparently he took my $plus $2,for bathroom tile and continued to refuse to answer my phone calls again for another two weeks (now weeks after construction started) I was able to contact his broth-law Kevin Br***, who acknowledged the cabinets were the wrong size and that the wrong trim was ordered, but since they worked together, he would help make things rightHe said he knew Chad left and went to Disney World and maybe that was why he never answered my callsHere I am with nowhere to live while Chad cashed over $11,of my money and went to Disney Land, after promising to be on the job site every dayFinally after almost 5+ weeks I finally saw Chad, all that was useable were the toiletsHe acknowledged he ordered the wrong cabinets but said it was Kevin's faultI later learned there was never a real drawling done of my kitchen or bathsThe following week some of the cabinets were reordered and this time Kevin said the cabinet company delivered the wrong cabinetsThe few cabinets they did put in were cracked (they did not use cabinet screws, but wider screws which caused the wood to splinter/crack), crooked and appeared to be put in with a hand sawThey again said there is not enough money to continue, and although in hindsight it was very stupid, but I felt intimidated and did not know how to finish what they startedThey told me I had to call the granite company and pay them with a checkThe base cabinets were all off level, cracked, drawers had screws coming through both ends and the top cabinets were the wrong sizes etcI felt very uncomfortable with the granite company coming and NOTHING looked correctPlus we agreed $9,up front $9,when the job was doneThey again said they had no more money for supplies that was when I said no more and I hope to see them in courtI could go on and on but there is not enough space to elaborate on this nightmare and mess this company has left me withHorrible is an understatement! It has been over 1/months and nothing in my condo is usable! Please don't ever consider hiring K&L Construction or CTM Restoration, they give builders and construction a BAD name and they have no idea what they are doingI have photos and text messages to substantiate everything I am sayingI finally hired a different contractor, and he was astonished when I told him this storyThe new contractor had to purchase additional tile to finish the bathrooms, and I was able to pull the receipt from the original tile purchase made by Chad from Floor and DécorWhat Chad told me was $in tile actually cost them $1,Now, I am out thousands in wasted materials, useless cabinets, not to mention having to get hotel rooms/stay with friends and pay for meals
