Mr*** ** *** brought his Mahogany Mink Coat into our location for repairs on November 10, 2010, at which time he authorized a repair involving rips to the Left Back and Right Shoulder of his garment. The price agreed upon and invoiced that day was $200. Mr
*** requested that he not pay any of the 50% deposit for this work and we honored his request. The work was completed on December 31, and Mr*** was notified that his garment was ready to be picked up. Mr*** received a statement for his unpaid services in January of He made no payment. We called Mr*** at the end February of to let him know that the 45 day grace period for unpaid garments had expired and we intended to add storage charge of $to his account. He said he would be in to collect the garment and pay his balance. He never came in to pick up his garment. Mr*** received two statements and requests for payment in 2011. He made no payment. On March 1, storage charges of $were added to Mr***'s account, he was invoiced that day and received two statements and requests for payment in 2012. He made no payment. On February 27, storage charges of $were added to Mr***'s account, he was invoiced that day and received two statements and requests for payment in 2013. He made no payment. On February 26, storage charges of $were added to Mr***'s account, he was invoiced that day and received two statements and requests for payment in 2014. He made no payment. On September 30, 2014, I called Mr*** requesting payment, telling Mr*** that we had not added any service charges, late charges or interest charges to his account as a courtesy for four years while we patiently awaited payment. He then for the first time claimed that the repair he authorized in person four years prior was too high. I informed him that we just wanted to be paid and would continue to hold off any additional charges and interest if he merely made a payment. He made no payment. Mr*** was mailed a copy of his statement on December 23, 2014. He made no payment. At no time was any mail returned to us because of an incorrect address. On February 16, Mr*** was called again and once more reminded that we needed a payment. He was at that time informed that further charges for storage of $52.95 would not be added to his account as a courtesy, additionally I agreed to not put up any late charges, interest or service charges if we received a payment. He made no payment. On February 18, Mr*** informed us that he would make a payment of $100 on March 3, 2015. He made no payment. On June 16, I spoke with Mr*** to inform him that we planned to seize his garment and sell it at auction to cover his accumulated charges over the past years. He was notified that it was within our rights as a merchant to do so under *** Law. I told him I would not put up any late charges, interest or penalties and honor the two years of storage he was not charged for if he paid his balance of $by June 21. He made no payment, but asked that we send him the garment without payment I told him that we had been considerate, generous and thoughtful for years without any paymentI informed him once again that over the years we have waited for payment we have not added late fees, interest or penalties in an effort to keep his expenses reasonable. Mr*** only offered to "send in $a month until the balance was paid". I informed Mr*** that we had no desire to continue negotiating with him as our previous efforts and accommodations to receive payment had not been honored and that we needed to be paid in full or would take action against him within our legal rights including seizing his garment for sale and reporting his account to a collections agency for payment. This account has gone unpaid for years. We have gone above and beyond the standards of customer service and patience with Mr***. We ask that his balance be paid in full by July 1, 2015. After that date all charges, late fees, interest and penalties will be added to Mr***'s account retroactively and we will take all action necessary to be paid for all of the services we have provided
