I am rejecting this response because: As a small business owner for 28 years, I fully understand the situations for a small business (plumbing  gen. contractor) but ethically I do not agree with the way you run your business or the competency  of your personnel. To begin with, when I called, nothing was said about your billing.  The operator said that you had a man in the area and he would be at my home with in 15 minutes.  And they were. T  They were here less than 30 minutes. The men said the control box was out and replaced it. They told me that  they just came from a job site  and had four more in the area.  That's 6 calls at $200 per call, or $1,200 for one trip.   The fact that their diagnosis of the problem was inaccurate,  ( I'm sorry if I said "diode",  I meant capacitor ).  The capacitor in the control box was out due to one leg of a 220 amp breaker being burned out.  Retail cost  of a capacitor is $13.90 & a breaker is $9.97.   In settlement I would like to offer the return of your control box and $100.00 for your trouble. If not we can allow a judge to settle this case.

In regard to the consumer complaint notice we received from your office. On March 27, 2017 Mr. [redacted] called and requested service due to his pump not operating. I dispatched 2 employees to go to Chiloquin to find out what was wrong. My employees replaced the 1 horsepower control box as to which...

he was billed $111.00. We get our pricing sheets from our distributor, therefore charge the recommended cost. We are a small business and not a wholesaler therefore cannot buy in bulk like the chain stores and Grovers as Mr [redacted] said he purchased the same items from. In order to buy Xylem products you are required to be a licensed pump installer. Since we are a small business we are a retailer When Mr. [redacted] called, he was told he would be billed from shop to shop and not mileage, plus any parts to be used.Once again, Mr. [redacted] called our office and complained about the cost as he was very adamant that in 1990 there were laws against price gouging. I am not sure of the relevance. He was told he could bring the part back if he was not using it. I’m not sure what he is referencing to when he states the diode was out. There are minimal components is a 1 horsepower control box, which are a capacitor, relay, and terminal block. On the complaint filed he states that he purchased the pump repair on 1/28/2017. I am attaching a copy of the job work order of when the work was requested, copy of the pricing from the manufacturer and a copy of his billing.We do not offer discounts for veterans or elderly. I am also a veteran and just turned 70 years old today. I would like to resolve this matter as quickly as possible but I do believe as a small business owner I am entitled to make a fair profit and to be paid for my services provided by myself or my employees.Thank You and I will await your response on this matter.Robert C B[redacted]/President
