Review: I purchased a Klean Kanteen, 18oz. wide mouth bottle from Adventures Edge on 3/27/2014 for $19.97. A few days later, I washed it per the instructions, allowed it to dry over night. When I filled it with water the water had a strong metallic taste. I washed, rinsed and refilled several times over the next few days with the same result. On April 1, I sent an email to Klean Kanteen asking for recommendations to resolve the problem. When I did not hear back after a few days I called Adventures Edge. The man I spoke with told me to call Klean Kanteen and gave me the phone number.On April 3, I called Klean Kanteen and left a voicemail message. A man called me back and directed me to scrub the inside of the bottle with vinegar and baking soda and then wash with soap and water. I repeated that process several times and the water still had a metallic taste.I took the bottle, the inserts and my original receipt back to Adventures Edge and asked for a full refund. [redacted] told me that Adventures Edge would not refund me and I needed to speak with Klean Kanteen. I phoned Klean Kanteen and spoke with [redacted]. She told me that the model I had purchased had been discontinued and that she would not refund my money. She offered to send me a replacement bottle and directed me to recycle the bottle I had purchased. On April 23 I received an email from Klean Kanteen telling me again, to wash and scrub the bottle.I replied that I wanted a refund, they refused and sent me a second replacement bottle. I returned both replacement bottles unopened.Desired Settlement: Full refund

Thanks so much for contacting Klean Kanteen. We take it to heart that we have a customer that is not 100% satisfied with the service received or the product they purchased.

Our records show that two separate customer service representatives received claims, and both responded to the concerns of the consumer. Unfortunately, while we responded promptly to the inquiry, the customer then received two separate bottle replacements, and our retailer referred them back to Klean Kanteen for a refund.

After further evaluation Klean Kanteen will do the following to resolve the claim and attempt to satisfy the customer;

1. Make an exception to the refund policy and issue a check in the amount of $19.97 to the consumer.

2. Call the retail location and explain Klean Kanteens policy on refunds for purchases made directly through them. Should the retailer opt to do an exchange or refund based on a manufactures defect or complaint, Klean Kanteen will credit or refund the retailer based on their purchasing terms with Klean Kanteen.

We sincerely apologize for any frustration or upset that this may have caused our consumer and will take this experience back and use as a learning tool for customer service and retail training in the future.

Should Klean Kanteen determine by a consumers claim that it warrants a replacement, whether for a warranty claim or customer satisfaction, Klean Kanteen will send out a replacement.

Review: My Kid Kanteen Sippy 12oz bottle has a 1cm crack along the grain of the steel where it is welded. Water thus leaks out. A warranty request was submitted to Klean Kanteen via their website. The company did not respond. Another request was submitted on 5/15/15. The company responded 5 months later on 10/14/15, requesting pictures. I emailed the pictures the same day that they responded1. I never heard back. I emailed them again on 12/28/15 asking the status of my claim. I have still not heard back.Desired Settlement: I just want a new replacement bottle that doesn't leak.
