Kleber Brothers Marine Reviews (2)

Review: I had my boat serviced at Kleber Brothers shortly after I was in A Car accident and was unable to work or get around. I contacted them to advise them of my situation and they were okay. The bill that I had owed them was 700 plus dollars. I sent them 300 and was going to send the remaining 400 plus. I decided to sell the boat so that I could pay them the remaining balance. When they seen that people were coming to look at the boat and was interested. They then said that I owe them 900 and I need to either pay the 900 or hand over the title so that they can sell. when I sent them 300 I was told that the remaining balance was 400 plus. I feel that they are trying to take advantage of me.Desired Settlement: return my refund and I will politely sign over the title.

Response:

I his letter is in response to a complaint submitted by Mr. [redacted] on 7/8/2014 which was assigned an ID of [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] dropped off his boat, motor and trailer to be serviced on March 31, 2012, Klebcr Brothers Inc. completed all service requested by Mr. [redacted]. Along with the service requested Mr. [redacted] also purchased a new trolling motor for his boat, which our service department installed. Service was completed on May 23, 2012. 1 called Mr. [redacted] and spoke to him on May 23, 2012 and notified him that service was completed and the boat could be picked up. On July 2,2012 customer was called again to state that service requested was complete and boat needed to be picked up. I left a voicemail on July 2,2012 at 12:30pm. On July 23,2012 Mr. [redacted] was called again. I spoke with him at this time stating the amount due. At this time he notified me that he was in a car accident and that was the reason why the boat had not been picked up in a timely manner. He apologized for not picking up his boat but stated that it would be picked up within the week. After the July 23,2012 phone call he was phoned frequently but never answered or returned calls to Klebcr Brothers Inc to make arrangements for payment or pick up. There had been no contact with Mr. [redacted] until July of 2014. At this time he slated that he would be in to make full payment on the service provided on his boat. At this time I notified him that a storage fee has been applied to his bill because it has been on our lot for 2 years. Per the service agreement that Mr. [redacted] signed on 3/31/2012 it states “customer will be charged $25.00 each day beginning the 8 day from completion ol work.” Due to the length of time his boat was on our lot a fee of $ 12,000.00 would be due lbr storage. We are not a facility that provides storage nor do wc have the room to store boats at our facility. Kleber Brothers Tnc under good faith agreed to waive the $12,000.00 storage fee and only charge $500.00 for two years of storage. We dispute the accusation of Mr, [redacted] stating we are trying to take advantage of him. In fact we are being more then fair. Supporting documentation can be provided to prove all phone calls made along with his signature agreeing to the terms and conditions of Kleber Brothers Tnc.

Review: We went down to try and order a boat on 2/11/15 at Rt 8 Marine and they gave us a credit application to fill out and fax in, and a $1000.00 check to order the boat. [redacted], the sales associate said that he would not cash check until credit application was approved and final price of boat was discussed. [redacted] said that bill of sale would be e mailed to us the next day, which we to this date did not receive. We called numerous times and spoke to receptionist and she told us [redacted] was not available and would have him call us back, which he never did. I needed the bill of sale to see if I could get financing through my credit union, I called [redacted] for 3 or 4 weeks straight to see if financing papers went through and to see where my bill of sale was and he avoided my calls. I did not sign a contract or any other paperwork stating that I would purchase this boat, I could not get [redacted] to return my calls so I stopped payment on the $1000.00 check. This check was not to be cashed until all paperwork for boat was finalized and boat was ready to be ordered, so I was very upset when I got a call from [redacted] finally, and he tried to cash my check on 3/2/15, and found out that I had put a stop payment on it. [redacted] could not call me back to answer any of my questions about where we were with ordering the boat but he called when he tried to cash my check, which he was not suppose to do until we had all the information, which to this date we do not! [redacted] tried to tell my that "according to PA laws" I own this boat, that I have not signed any paperwork for?Desired Settlement: To never hear from anyone at Route 8 Marine again. I would never purchase anything from this company and do not appreciate being threaten that I own a boat that I did not agree to purchase with them.
