Back Yard Oasis
We had an excellent experience with our pool installation by Kline Bros. Our project leader George was easy to work with and eager to please my wife's ever-demanding personality. Sure we could have gone with a less expensive contractor but the end results were worth every dollar spent. There is something to be said about hiring a company that handles all aspects of a project of this magnitude. Throughout the Installation of the pool, pavers, landscaping, and perimeter fencing, George and his crews were top-notch. As one crew finished their portion of the job the next crew was on site the following day. Many of my neighbors who had pools installed by other companies' projects took several months to complete. Kline Bros transformed my yard into a backyard oasis in 8 weeks. It would have been sooner but for the weather and inspections. I wish to thank Joe and Jennifer Ascolese for recommending Kline Bros. for our project. I would recommend Kline Bros. to others without reservation.

Terrible Pruning of Yucka Tree
Do yourself a favor and call someone else. kline Brothers Toms River horrible work, broke my flood light, terrible pruning, over priced and non responsive.
I have called and left messages and still no response.

Boycott Klien Brothers
Terrible Pruning of Yucka Tree

I had called Kline Brothers and got pricing for top soil to be delivered to Barnegat. I was quoted $35 a yard and $135 for delivery. At that time because of the holiday they didn't have a driver. The following week I called and ordered 9 yards of topsoil to be delivered. They delivered the soil and it set till I could move it. The soil is crap it had large pieces of plastic pipe in it, large roots and tree limbs up to three inches round. Then to top it off, when I got the bill they charge me $600. The soil at Stafford recycle is better then what they soil they sold me and it is free. I will never deal with Kline Brothers again because of this!

Dear Revdex.com of New Jersey:We were unaware that [redacted] was trying to contact us. Immediately upon receiving your notification I visited [redacted] home to inspect the premises, the trees were suffering from lack of water due to the current drought. As I initially spoke with [redacted] I was very...

concerned about the frequency and the amount of water the trees would receive. Having spoke to [redacted] since this visit I agreed to remove dead or dying limbs from current trees, to rearrange the fieldstone and he agreed to water the trees more frequently. We hope that the drought should cease shortly and with proper pruning and water the trees will return in good health in the sping of 2016.

I am rejecting this response because:
We have yet to meet and I suggested sending the business an email because...

he cancelled the last meeting date because he was ill and the previous meeting as well which I then cancelled later that day because of pending bad storm.  Until that meeting happens, I cannot accept that response.   I will be sending the email this week.

I am rejecting this response because:
They have had substantial amount of time to contact me.  And I believe it is 5 days.  He has not contacted me at all since the first time I submitted the complaint nor made any attempts to do anything.  He is just delaying the process and should not be afforded the extra time which is out of bounds.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
The first time was an appointment we scheduled. It was cancelled due to hurricane force winds.  We also scheduled a second appointment which was cancelled by Kline Brothers because he was "sick".  Then I sent the email. It has been 2 months since then and no one has called or responded to my email detailing the complaint.   If they are so concerned with their reputation, how is it they did not call to reschedule when he was well or it went any further.  There was no contact presumably because he was upset with the complaint and did not want to address the issues.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I gave him the times I am available but he is only available during his times.  He did not call me directly to speak to me and when I called the office back the secretary was rude and said she kept on trying to schedule with me.  I asked to speak to [redacted] but she said he is not available to speak to me.  This has to go to arbitration.  No more rebuttals

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:Majority of this is absolutely untrue. According to Officer *** of the Stafford Township police and the police report he wrote up, it wasn't an overzealous employee who texted but in fact was *** ***. Also based off how you responded, why was a new employee allowed access to my personal information and then go forward with bullying and threatening me? Furthermore, why was this employee texting me these threatening and harassing texts after 9 PM at night which is obviously after business hours. I demand an apology.  Regarding the work, the work WAS NOT finished as promised. Despite several appointments after your workers declared this finished, it still wasn't done as described over the phone. Also your workers have a wood plank that still is on our front porch.  What im more worried about is how you handle your accounts. As I mentioned to the officer who took the report, I am working with an attorney to handle this situation further

Response to Complaint ID [redacted] Mr.  [redacted] hired Kline Brothers Landscaping to clean up shrubs, and garden beds, prune beds, rake stone weed and remove concrete block install edgestone along the front and side beds and around the trees in the front yard on July 16th 2015.  This work was...

begun on August 7th 2015.  Mr.  [redacted] requested that that missing pieces of edgstone be installed along the front left (from the street view) bed of the driveway where a Hosta plant had been placed and Mr. [redacted] had originally determined to keep but had decided to remove.  Those additional pieces of curbstone were added during the last week of August 2015.   On August 20th Mr. [redacted] stated that additional work needed to be done.  Due to the delays in starting the project Kline Brothers added additional edgstone to Mr. [redacted]’s property.   Mr. [redacted] reported that he was very pleased with the work but had a few details he would like cleared up.  Mr.  [redacted] reported that material was left on his porch, I visted the site but did not recognize that the material was Kline Brothers and after receiving a call from Mr. [redacted] the material was removed.  On September 1st 2015 Kline Brothers called for final payment and left message.  I spoke with Mr.  [redacted] sometime between Sept. 1st and he Sept. 18th and he stated that some of the “stones” were coming up near the garage.  We sent a crew out to level the area near the garage.  I believed he was referring to the rock not the edgstone.  On Oct. 2 Kline Brothers called Mr [redacted] and left a message about final payment.    Mr. [redacted] stated that the stone or in this case the block near the area he wanted to store his trashcans.  I again brought a crew to the property and called Mr. [redacted] and spoke to him and the crew altered the edgestone along that area.  On Novemeber 10th 2015 Kline Brothers called for payment and Mr. [redacted] reported that he would pay once we  fixed the stone near the garage. A crew went out to the [redacted] property and adjusted the edgestone in that area of the property.   I visited Mr. [redacted]’s property approximately four times during the period between Novemeber 10th and December 3rd, at various times of day and on various days.  I did not speak with anyone on any of those occasions.  On December 3rd Kline Brothers called to request a meeting with Mr. [redacted] to review any work that would be required to receive final payment and left messages.  Kline Brothers also mailed out letters to Mr. [redacted] no less than 4 times during this period requesting final payment.    Messages for Mr. [redacted] were also left on Jan. 7 2016, Jan. 9 2016, Jan. 27th 2016.  A bill was mailed to Mr. [redacted]  on Feb. 14th 2016.  Mr.  [redacted] also was called on March 3rd  2016 and mailed again in the first or second week of April.   None of these attempts to contact Mr. [redacted] received any responses.  I stated in June that I did not believe Mr. [redacted] likely did not live on the property, or had a family issue, since he seemed unlikely to have had issues with the quality of our work.  After several conversations I considered our relationship amicable and his overall satisfaction with work to be good.  As evidence, at least several months after working on the property the Kline Brothers sign was still hanging on the lawn.    I believed that he would  have attempted to resolve this issue sooner.  I had not had any contact with him since December of 2015.  In June 2016 one our recent hires,  overzealously and inappropriately,  attempted to confirm that Mr. [redacted] still lived on the property and contacted Mr. [redacted] via text.  Kline Brothers is clearly willing to resolve this project to Mr. [redacted]’s, satisfaction, however we have been unable to contact him for over six months to determine precisely what is needed to be done to rectify the situation to his satisfaction.  [redacted]

We would like to meet with Mr. [redacted] to review his issues regarding this property and our office has requested an appropriate time to schedule this meeting.Sincerely,[redacted]

Overpriced, not good to deal with, Promises specific plants but on day of arrival said they could not get them. Replaced with cheaper plants. I received letters saying I did not pay & I would be sued. I paid in full on day of deliver & planting.
Would never deal with them again & advise anyone considering them to get other estimates.

Review: 1). Contacted Kline Bros. on 10Apr15 to get estimate to install eight (8) bushes in rear of yard. The job was supposed to take two (2) weeks from date of proposal but took 6/7 weeks instead.

2). Job was said to be VERY labor intense but would actually happened was they brought in a front end loader and removed old shrubs instead of manually digging them out. I know this because they separated hard-scape blocks that were previously glued to do so and never re-glued them. Therefore the stone if no longer level and straight.

3). All the shrubs installed are dying and/or dead. We recognize that it has been a dry and hot summer but we water every weekend we are down.

4). I have made numerous attempts to contact the gentleman that provided the quote and I am unable to get a response.

At a minimum I would like new shrubs to be installed and for the stone hard scape to be straightened and re-glued the proper way. Thank You for any assistance you can provide.

Never, ever again. Poor workmanship, overpriced, not very pleasant to deal with. They were recommended to us by our contractor, who by the way is wonderful, so we thought how could they not be professional. We stand corrected, in the future we will use one of the many other talented landscape businesses located in this area.

Review: In the summer of 2013, Kline Brothers was hired to seal pavers at my house in Beach haven. They claimed to be able to do it/have experience in this type of project, and so while their price was clearly well above others, I contracted them anyway, mostly to continue to support local providers.

The project - covering 500-600 sf, cost me $3,600 plus taxes. Other estimates were 30-50% lower.

The work done was below any reasonable standards. a) the pavers were not appropriately cleaned -not power washing or scrubbing as agreed, b) poly sand was not evenly applied, c) poly sand was not cured/settled before seal was applied. I pointed out to Kline that the steps taken in the project seemed inappropriate, especially with regard to not letting the poly sand, but the response was that they knew what they were doing and that it would all come out nicely.

This was all immediately discussed with Mr. [redacted] who visited the site and acknowledged the poor work and promised it would be remediated after the summer.

It is now June of 2014 and nothing has been done. I have called Kline several times - at least 7-8 calls, and I was promised [redacted] call me back. He did, twice. Once as noted above, the latest, just a couple of months ago - in April 2014 when he told me the workers were on the schedule to be at my house within the next couple of weeks.

There is not doubt in my mind that I was gauged in price, but worse, the service was very sub-par, with the pavers now worse than before, - with the poly sand/seal breaking off all over.

I feel that I got nothing for my $3,600 plus tax but aggravation, waste of my valuable time, and ultimately, disrespect from what is supposed to be a service business.

Despite my desire to support local businesses, it back-fired and I am not only looking for restitution but I am also concerned that my neighbors/other consumers fall prey to Kline with respect to these services, which they prove to know very little about, if anything.

Response:

Good evening. [redacted] spoke to Mrs. [redacted] approximately two weeks ago. We will be going out to the property this upcoming week for the third time at no cost to the homeowner. The homeowner had stains on her pavers prior to Kline Bros. Landscaping sealing the pavers. We have made our best attempt of getting them out two times already. We plan to visit the property again. We will have this issue resolved within the next two weeks the latest. Please contact he homeowner and confirm this information.

Thank you for your time.

Any other questions feel free to contact me.

Make it a great day!
