Company charged for two visits when work was not done properly first time. Charged my son's credit card for both-only authorized for one.Feb 18/14 Called KMC to fix tap upstairs and flowing through the floor down stairs. I asked them to check both floors to be sure there was no other leaks downstairs. Charged $130.00 which I indicated I would pay by money order. I was not home to pay at the time - they left invoice. The next day February 19/14. I continued to have water problems in basement-I called to see if they would charge for another visit because they had not checked completely and another tap was leaking. The person I spoke to said there would be no charge except supplies. [redacted]. They came and repaired taps in basement and charged $149.17 for second visit. My son, [redacted], paid by his credit card, only authorizing the second visit, but was charged on his card for both visits $310.33. I called the Company to state I was not to be charged for a second visit and was told they would not honour what they had said. They said they had not agreed to this. I asked them to speak to the person regarding the second call and they indicated the person did not work there any more. However, I felt they should honour what they told me,that I was not to be charged for a second visit as the first time they did not check for further leaks as I had requested. I did not receive any satisfaction from the company and they should not have put both bills on my son's creit card. I had agreed and am willing to pay for the supplies. $122.05 plus tax.Business Response February 18, 2014Customer called for service on the upstairs taps in her house. There was no mention of any issues with the downstairs plumbing. Her daughter was present during the service call and still had no mention of any plumbing issues in the basement. We are not aware of what was discussed with the customer regarding to the second call because that employee is no longer with the company. It was explained by the Plumbing Manager to the customer afterwards that these charges were applied because there was no mention of the extra work in the first call. We billed out the customer at the end of the second call when the credit card number was provided to the employee who did the service call. We feel we acted in a very timely manner getting on site and fixing the plumbing issues. In turn we feel that the charges are appropriate to the service we provided and that is why no credit/refund was given back to the customer.The reason of no refund is because we have to pay our employees for their labour and time to complete the service call. They did have to go back a second time for the second service call to do the downstairs plumbing work.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not accept the response, but it is apparent it is my word against his. He states "there was no mention of any issues with the downstairs plumbing". That is not true, as I asked specifically to check if the water downstairs was do only to that upstairs running down or if there was further issues in the basement. [redacted]It is clear he does not wish to verify my call made the following morning with the staff who conveniently no longer works for him. I was very explicit that I felt the work was not done to my satisfaction and asked if I would have to pay for a second call - he said no. However, I have no proof and as he will not honour what his person agreed, we are at an impass. [redacted]
