Knight Chrysler Dodge Jeep Reviews (1)

My husband and I purchased a new 2014 [redacted] in April of 2014. We also purchased an extended warranty that covered not only repairs but also a rental vehicle if necessary. On June 26, 2014, just two and a half months after purchasing the [redacted] my husband was parked on a flat gravel road and attempted to put the [redacted] into reverse. There was a large clunk and the [redacted] wouldn't move. My husband got out and noticed oil pouring out of the back. Roadside assistance then towed it to Knight Dodge in Weyburn, Sask. After it sitting there for a week and them not providing us with the rental we were paying for they finally replaced the rear diff and axel. That didn't fix the problem so they told us they'd replace the transmission. He still couldnt provide my husband with a rental vehicle. We live in Alberta so this left my husband stranded in the middle of Saskatchewan, [redacted]. We contacted [redacted] many times in hopes that they could help us acquire a rental or get us some answers as to why the repair was taking so long. They contacted [redacted] at Knight Dodge) around the 5th of July and he told them it would take til the end of the month to be repaired. [redacted]! [redacted]. [redacted]. We contacted [redacted] on Thursday July 17th, he told us his transmission mechanic was on vacation that week but would be back Monday, July 21st and he would get it in right away. Meanwhile my husband has still been stuck in Saskatchewan all this time with no way to get home. My husband contacted [redacted] again Wed, July 23 and was told his mechanic is out of shop again but would look at it tomorrow. [redacted] Desired Settlement[redacted] Knight dodge at least should be going out of their way to bring a rental to him so he can get home to his family. [redacted] If they can't provide a rental then get the [redacted] into the shop right now! [redacted] Business Response As stated in [redacted]'s complaint the [redacted] was towed to the dealership on the 25th of June. Our service dept is usually booked 2-3 weeks in advance for major repairs. Some appointments were shuffled around & we were able to diagnose on the 30th. On the 27th we were contacted by [redacted]'s selling dealer that he had extended warranty to cover a rental, we immediately contacted the co.([redacted])& we were told that they needed the specific details of the repair before they would cover the expense of a rental. After the vehicle was diagnosed the company consented to paying $50.00/day. [redacted] was contacted & he said he needed a truck or 4X4 to get to his work site, as we only have cars & vans for rental. the [redacted] started contacting other dealerships to try & find a truck for [redacted]. When none could be found in Weyburn he started contacting companies in Estevan. He was able to locate a truck at a rental company there, but they stated that they WOULD NOT do a third party rental. [redacted] contacted [redacted] about this & he stated that he would not be able to afford the $90.00/day that the company wanted for the rental. When the technician was able to do the repairs, on July 4th, to the rear end & take the [redacted] for a test drive it was discovered that the transmission was affected as well. [redacted] contacted [redacted] & explained that there would be further delays because we had to order parts. there was no mention from [redacted] at this time about a rental, so [redacted] assumed that he had been able to find a vehicle. If we had known that he needed a vehicle to get back to Alberta we would have supplied him with a car or van. As [redacted] stated in her complaint that they were in contact with [redacted] about this matter, we have also been in touch with [redacted]. So far they have supported the dealership with regards to this, as they understand that the customer wanted a vehicle that we could not supply to him. Unfortunately we still have this vehicle as we are still waiting for parts for the transmission. [redacted] delays.[redacted]
