Complaint[redacted]took ford [redacted] to village ford because was told a fuel injector and wouldnt start, ford diganosed problem fixed bad oil sending unit was reading 5-15 ohms and fixed bad fuel pump but because ford changed out fuel pump forgot to install top fuel filter which desingrated and got sucked in to motor and is presently getting fixed but because of not paying attention to detail, got stuck without a truck for a week or more and payed 1,953.00 for work to make the truck run to have it break down again because of a techician not checking why or what happened to the fuel pump and why it broke down as a part, and now because of this had to pay bill first and now fixing it but because I lost a week of work because only had my ford [redacted] to use, and was not provided a courtsey truck so I ask for my truck to be fixed by the dealership at no cost to me and to reimburse me half of my bill because of the bad judgement in error for causing it to fail payment was by cheque drawn on [redacted] Desired Settlementi am seeking 900.00 which is half of my bill for the time I couldnt use my truck and which I was not provided a courtsey truck either [redacted] Business Response The truck was towed in Sept 3 2014 engine turns over, but will not start. Sept 8 2014 is when we were able to start the repairs on the truck. I have discussed this repair with the technician and the service advisor , the technician was discussing the matter with the driver of the truck in the back shop, then a estimate was given over the phone with the customer, the estimate did include replacing the fuel filters, we proceeded with the repairs that were authorized by the customer. Which was the fuel regulator and the fuel pump. Also noted on that work order was noted that battery cables need servicing, the alternator wiring is corroded, intermittent squeal from under the hood , engine miss more so cold, oil leak from the engine, abs light on and battery light on, those items also need attention which we were not authorized. Vehicle was released to the customer Sept 9th . The truck was towed back in 5 days later , customer asked why we did not change the upper fuel filter, I offered to him that we will install the fuel filter at no charge to him and that he would have to pay for the parts. He gave me the fuel filter that he took out. It was in a sealed bag, I asked to keep this so I could discuss the matter with the technician. The customer also wanted us to clean the fuel rails well , which I agreed on.The truck was pushed into the shop later that day, we went to replace the upper filter only to find out that the fuel filter was replaced already. So I called the customer and got more information , asked him why he wanted us to replace fuel filter when its already been done, that's when he told me that the truck stalled when driving and now will not turn over at all. So the next day we diagnosed the concern why the engine will not start, the air conditioning compressor seized solid not allowing the engine to turn over to start, we removed the main drive belt, engine starts and runs, so we gave the customer several options , new a/c compressor 10 days to get parts, rebuilt a/c compressor today from a local supplier, or a used compressor from [redacted] 1 day away. Customer chose the used a/c compressor because the costs were extremely lower than the new and rebuilt. The truck was returned to the customer Sept 18 2014 , The customer did ask for a loaner truck while this was in for repairs, I explained to him that we only have cars on as service loaners, he said a car would not work. Because the truck was in two times with in a short period of time , with 2 totally different concerns , engine turns over and wont start, to engine will not turn over. We will not be refunding or assisting any money to the customer. If the customer would have authorized us to diagnose the intermittent squealing noise from the tensioner area the second break down may not have happened. [redacted]
